Reports are coming through of year 2010 sets being stocked by Toys R Us in the USA. Sets available include some Creator, Technic, Racers, Atlantis and the new City Fire Station set 7208.

Update 15th Nov: Although they don't appear to be everywhere yet, Chad in Texas who originally told us about this has confirmed that the Toys R Us in north Austin/Cedar Park (Pecan Park Boulevard) in Austin, Texas has those listed by Grahame in the comments and he's reviewed the Atlantis sets at his MostlyBricks blog (--Huw)

Update 17th Nov: There have also been reports of the new Space Police sets out at Toys R Us, but the only confirmation I have is in the same Cedar Park, Texas area.  The new SPIII sets include the new full-face space helmets.  Available sets are the Raid VPR #5981 and Smash n' Grab #5982.  Reviews can be found on the above MostlyBricks blog linked by Huw! I was just at my local TRU and there was nothing there, darn... I'll try again next week...

I guess the only sets I want on that list are Atlantis. What I really want is the Star Wars!

Posted by asteciuc in United States, 14 Nov 2009 00:52

I went to my nearest Toy R Us when I saw this but I couldn't find anything new. Same old 2009 sets sprinkled with left over 2008 sets.

Posted by legoman64 in United Kingdom, 14 Nov 2009 05:02

i think that its in uk aswell because there was lots of boxes saying LEGO 2010

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 14 Nov 2009 07:05

I can't believe I spent my money on an electric scooter not a week before......There is a chance that there are Atlantis sets waiting for me RIGHT NOW, and i can't buy them because I made a solemn oath of honor to not buy me anything this close to Christmas.

If anyone sees them, what are the prices? just subtract $5-10 depending on the size and that is thee list price most likely.

Posted by Lego-Dude in Canada, 14 Nov 2009 08:20

If they're in America its not long for Canada, got to get to a TRU, see what new! Ha that rhymed ....

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 14 Nov 2009 09:37

@ET Lego is more careful with star wars than other themes, it seems. The same thing happened this summer.

I'm going to my Toys"R"us today, so If I see any 2010 sets , I'll report them back here.

P.S: I found a review of two Bionicle stars sets on Brickshelf! here's the link> http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=409455

Posted by james3426 in United States, 14 Nov 2009 10:24

I hope this means the new Power Miners:Core of the world sets and Bionicle Stars are coming soon. Those Power Miners have improved since last year, and the Bionicle Stars are Matoran/Agori sized, but they have awesome pieces.

Posted by HQuiff in Ireland, 14 Nov 2009 13:28

Darn! I hoped the Fire Station would be Available in the UK too but unfortunately not! :(

Posted by SmashBrawlR7538 in Canada, 14 Nov 2009 14:14

Thank goodness we are getting some 2010 sets before the Christmas holidays, but since I'm in Canada I gotta wait, but I'll probably see them before Christmas like I did with last years POWER MINERS and PIRATES!!

Also: Any news on the upcoming 2010 Power Miners?

Posted by blabla in Canada, 14 Nov 2009 16:34

I'm pretty sure the release date for most of the sets is November 24th, so that's not too far off anyway.

Posted by IlovePowerMiners in United Kingdom, 15 Nov 2009 11:23

I was at my local TRU and bought the Fire Blaster, saw the Magma Mech, Atlantis, and even the Droid Tri- Fighter. So if you live in the Traverse City, Michigan area, go to TRU by WAL-MART, they should have it.

Posted by asteciuc in United States, 15 Nov 2009 11:40

I need to revoke my original statement after visiting my Toys R US again. They are stocking all of the sets that are listed at the top of this page. Admittedly none of the sets are near each other nor actually in the front and none of them have prices listed on them, but they ARE there. They are also stocking a Space Police set 5981-1: Raid VPR. I only found one of them though. It looked like the Toys R US people were simply filling in empty spaces with new sets.

Posted by captainsamus in United States, 15 Nov 2009 11:43

I can also confirm TRU has been stocking 2010 sets. I saw Racers 8196, 8197, 8198, 7968, and 7967.

For some pics, see my post at Eurobrick here

Star Wars as well? This is great. Hopefully the UK will get them by Christmas.

Posted by toplessjeep in United States, 15 Nov 2009 11:54

I haven't checked my TRU in Allentown PA yet, but some membes of our LUG purchased a 2010 set of powerminers, atlantis, and space police, at a TRU in Philly last night.

Posted by will226 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 12:03

I found some of thoses sets on Ebay...

Posted by WedgeAntilles in United States, 15 Nov 2009 12:44

We still need clear pics of the 2010 Star Wars sets! Hopefully they actually put all of the 2010 in time for Christmas...though that happens occasionally.

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 15 Nov 2009 12:48

The ARC 170 and Luke's Landspeeder especially. 'Landspeeder looks to be a brilliant set, with all those figures for what will probably be a fairly low price.
Anyway, any news of 2010 appearing in the UK?

Posted by meat1980 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 12:58

I found the fire station and fire boat on friday at TRU, I was completely shocked because I normally here about most sets being found overseas first. I also saw Atlantis sets but didnt pick those up. I wanted to post the news here but didnt know how. I made a review of the fire station in case anyone is interested.

I went to my local TRU yesterday, no sign of 2010 sets..... I really want these Atlantis sets!

Posted by nerfman2227 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 17:09

I visited my local TRU (Vegas) today, and they had some small Atlantis sets, and the new Space Police sets.

Posted by xboard08 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 17:42

My local TRU had some new Racers sets and the new Technic Helicopter.

Posted by Foxlord in United States, 15 Nov 2009 18:14

Went to my Local TRU today in Vegas they had a few new Racers, 2 new Space Police, and 2 of the Atlantis sets.

Posted by toplessjeep in United States, 15 Nov 2009 18:17

Just got back from my TRU in PA. They had one powerminers, one space police, one atlantis, the new fire station, and that was it. However I was told by the memers in philly that they had both space police, two power miners, and a couple of the new creator sets. So its pretty random exactly what is where. And I checked target out of curiosity and they have nothing.

Posted by andy0002 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 20:06

the Christiana toys r us in delaware (US) is stocking the following:

-8188
-8058
-8060
-7207
-8048
-5982

so they stocked up on space police, technic, city, atlantis, power miners, and possibly racers, but im not sure because im not a fan of them so i havent memorized the 2010 sets, but i noticed the technic copter, which im not a fan of technic either but i remeber that.

ALSO! theres a special going on now at toys r us for early christmas shoppers! theres an old woman who was walking around handing out coupons for a 5$ purchase on LEGO (video games not included) when you buy 20$ or more. it also came with a free santa claus keychain (a $5 value!) although it was made of that bad plastic.

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 15 Nov 2009 21:31

was the cupon five dollars off or $20 worth for 5?

I need to go to my TRU is Florida, orlando, has anyone checked the one by florida mall.

Posted by captainsamus in United States, 15 Nov 2009 21:46

It's for $5.00 off $20.00.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 16 Nov 2009 01:26

Confirmed as well that the 2010 sets are trickling into Northern Virginia TRU's. I've seen the new fire station, fire boat, creator red car, creator orange helicopter, the 3 smaller Atlantis sets, the 2 SP3 sets noted above as well as a couple of new Power Miners sets. Still hoping to see some new SW sets along with the apple tree house and pig farm.

I wonder how much TRU is getting fined by Lego. Unless they have an agreement that allows them to put the sets out early. Here is another question to talk about. Why would you buy from TRU when you can buy from Lego and get your points for free stuff?

Posted by LAC in United States, 16 Nov 2009 09:59

yellowcastle, Which TRUs in northern VA have you seen the sets in? I live in the Piedmont region and can't seem to find any around here.

Posted by GameOn99 in United States, 16 Nov 2009 10:05

AZFIREWOLF: A. yes because I would use my free points stuff to get them this early and B. If you are getting them as Christmas presents, you are scoring "happy" points with others and those are much more special. Lastly, points are a rip-off, 100 for 5 dollars?!?!?!?! The loyalty cards were better. I think I speak for everyone if not a whole lot of people here.

And I do not think that TRU is getting fined for this, they would be out of business and we would have heard the news talking about this a long time ago. They have been doing this for how many years now, 100?

--Kingston, Ma TRU(For all u Massachusetts lego city fans)
7208: out of stock, but they did have it and everyone bought them.(Gee what a surprise!) Call in a few days, they will be unloading the truck.....
Also inquired about 3179: No clue, again check back in a few days.
--Hyannis, Ma TRU
7208: Not in stock, no other info.
3179: Never heard of it. :i

Interesting fact learned: Lego stocks their own shelves in Toysrus,(Says Kingston) which defeates the guess of TRU just filling holes. And out the conspiracy comes slowly.........

Only one 2010 set at my TRU (Orem, UT) Space Police Smash and Grab. But there was a woman there handing out LEGO Santa keychains with a $5 off $20 on Lego. Look for her, she's randomly wandering around the store with a bag full a Santas.

Posted by axalonark in United States, 18 Nov 2009 09:30

Just picked up the Typhoon Turbo Sub and SP3 Raid VPR last night at the SECOND Lego isle just set up near the rear of the store. Wasn't even really looking for them. Haven't built them yet but the Atlantis instruction book at the end has three pages of the Atlantis series and what some of the features are. I went to pick up Lego Indy 2, which is a neat retool of the lego series.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 18 Nov 2009 09:38

will226 could you post pictures?

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 18 Nov 2009 11:11

Another Northern Virginia spotting– the Fair Lakes TRU also has the random selection of new items that folks have already posted about:

– three Atlantis sets
– two small SPIII sets
– a Creator box that has a minifig w/ lime green cap
– small PM set with the "silverized" minifig

Etc.

The TRU in Schaumburg Illinois had all the new sets out that are listed at the top. I was there yesterday when the LEGO guys were unloading the stock. They were my new best friends and very nice. The Crystal Lake, IL store was stocked today but selection was very limited - only a few of the newly listed items. The LEGO guys told me they would be stocking the Algonquin, IL store on Thursday, 11/18/09. These new sets are great - my little one (4 1/2) loves the new Atlantis theme. I can't wait for the large set to come out. Interesting that TRU was getting the sets in when the two LEGO stores in Schaumburg (one in Woodfield Mall and one at the Streets at Woodfield) didn't have the sets in and thought it would be next week sometime.

I was also able to pick up one of the older Technic sets that has a motor / remote control in it. It's the yellow one. The LEGO guy told me they hadn't seen it for quite a while and, in fact, when I checked Lego's website, it's out of stock until next year.

I am only missing two of the new Bioncle sets - I took a pass at the Schaumburg store and by the time I went back after work I was only able to get 3 of the 6. Picked up one more at Crystal Lake today. Very mad at myself since Schaumburg had them all to begin with. I took a pass originally since they look very similar the ones my son already has but of course when he saw them, he wanted them all. It didn't help that we had just watched the new Bioncle movie.

Anyone know why TRU is getting the special treatment? Lego's website should at least list them for preorder like Amazon, ya know?

Posted by Branko in Australia, 19 Nov 2009 06:26

I'm on a business trip in the USA now and they had 2 new Atlantis (8058 =$19 and 8060=$25) sets at TRU in Sterling Heights, MI.
They didn't have many yet and the store staff was very surprised to see them on the shelves as well. ('I haven't seen those before!')

Posted by axalonark in United States, 19 Nov 2009 08:20

Finally put together the Turbo Sub. Only took 30 seconds after finishing it on how to make the large engines closer to the body of the sub. Love lego for the ability to fix design "flaws." A great product imporved and all it took was technic bar.

Saw the Fire Station and Fire Boat last night here in Wisconsin. They also had two new building sets for 4-7 year olds, similar to the fire (6191), pirate (6192), and castle (6193) sets. The first, in the tradition of Lego 6610, is set #5898 which includes a mini-fig, along with parts for a gas pump and two vehicles. There is a photo of this set in a thread on eurobricks: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35303

The other set I didn't catch the number on, but it had two mini-figs (man and woman), a car, and a "house." The house doesn't look like much more than a facade with a door and window, much like the fire station that came with the 6191 fire set. Both sets look like a lot more fun than the 6191 fire set, which wasn't a bad little set in itself.

I checked again at my TRU in Silverdale, Washington and found nothing. I asked an official, and he told me many people had asked him where they were, so he told me that they would be arriving on Saturday's truck.

And say, has anybody found 8191 Lavatraz yet? That's what I really want to get.
