  • VIP offers *today* Saturday 17th November only

Posted by Huw, 16 Nov 2012 16:21. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (General).

Today is an excellent day to do your shopping at shop.LEGO.com. Not only do you get free shipping on orders over a low threshold, you can also get hold of the 3300014 2012 Holiday Set for free, and if you order comes to over over £100/$149 you'll get 10% off as well!

These offers are only valid today. Please use these links to find out more and to place your orders so that Brickset gets a small commission which helps keep it on air: UK | USA | Canada. Thanks!

(Note that the UK landing page currently shows monetary values in Euros for some reason, but I believe the thresholds are free shipping over £25, free set over £50 and 10% off over £100). I suspect the page will be fixed in due course...)

These are some great deals. I did receive an email, in addition to reading more on FBTB. Surprisingly enough, this lasts only one day - not a week, not two days, not a month. This may be the time to place my last Lego order for a while. Budgets are difficult....

I received an call for a VIP event in Columbus OH where we get all the black friday savings and give aways without having to wait till next Friday.

Posted by CoreySkowronski in United States, 16 Nov 2012 17:19

Are these offers only for online ordering?

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 16 Nov 2012 17:20

Wow, what a great set of deals, Christmas shopping begins tomorrow by the looks of it!

Posted by jongoodall in United Kingdom, 16 Nov 2012 18:06

I'm told my local store is also doing the scratchcard thing as well, where you pick a card and scratch off the discount of either 10, 20 or 50% off. Last year i got Tower Bridge at 30% off. 10% as it was over £100 and 20% on the scratchcard.

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 16 Nov 2012 20:39

My question is, what sets will actually be on sale for BF. Also was told by the manager at the Columbus, OH store that the Hobbitt sets come out on the 27th of this month. Just a day after the weekend, go figure.

I got a mailing about a VIP event at my NEW (this summer) LEGO Store. Will the deals in store be the same as those online?

Posted by milkbottlec in United Kingdom, 16 Nov 2012 20:56

Yea...I got invitation to Cardiff, UK tomorrow for the VIP event :)

Posted by typo in United States, 16 Nov 2012 21:17

Dang! I was hope for exclusive access to purchase Horizon Express early...Oh well, January is only a month and a half away...

Posted by Margot in United States, 16 Nov 2012 22:18

I hope they have some great deals! I heart Lego so much right now because we just won tickets to light up the Christmas Tree at Legoland California!

Posted by TekkamanRaiden in Canada, 16 Nov 2012 23:35

I'm kinda of glad I have room on my credit card.

Posted by skullsndogbones in United States, 17 Nov 2012 00:03

I helped my mom pick out gifts for her grandkids which easily put us over the $99 mark, and I get the freebie! I already ordered the Winter Village Cottage set for myself during the double points event (also to help save my mom a little holiday shopping hassle!) As usual it's going to be a Lego Christmas for my family!

Posted by cinemajay in United States, 17 Nov 2012 02:52

I just ordered my Haunted House using my VIP number and not only did I not get 10% off, I didn't get the free holiday set. And no double VIP points like the email suggested. :(

Posted by Yellow in Hungary, 17 Nov 2012 03:07

Damn! Once again only for US/Canada and UK. I hate rest of the word doesn't get these promotions.
LEGO please think GLOBAL!

update: I see offer is valid in Germany, France and Danemark too. But why not in the rest of the world?!?!?!?

Posted by BrianOg in France, 17 Nov 2012 03:12

^yup, just got the email here in France

Posted by Venunder in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 03:32

You can also get double VIP points on some of the collections.
Although in the European site I visited, the link to the Old Republic collection goes to the Buildable Universe collection :)
I'm sure Lego will correct that glitch fairly soon. :)

Posted by DwarfSleepy in Netherlands, 17 Nov 2012 03:50

I got the email, but don't see the offers online for the Netherlands :-(

Posted by kmvk83 in Netherlands, 17 Nov 2012 04:20

Real shame we dont get the free set in the netherlands....
I have all the wintervillage sets. This would be a perfect match.
Sometimes I feel a bit left behind by lego.

Posted by BJMdotLEGO in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 04:57

And of course 3300014 is only available to some selected countries, not mine. Thanks very much, LEGO.

Posted by af.riem in Netherlands, 17 Nov 2012 05:16

^^ same story :-(

Posted by Iekzelf in Belgium, 17 Nov 2012 05:25

Is the set available in Belgium?

Posted by lefler1981 in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 06:25

In Brighton, UK we will be able to get a scratch card next week which will allow you to get even more discount I think it is going to be 10% 30% and 50%!!! but I am not sure) But I don't know if you can combine the normal discount of 10% with the scratch card. If yes, that is going to be amazing. I am waiting for the next week anyway.

Posted by Lucky-man in Switzerland, 17 Nov 2012 06:33

Same here in Switzerland! Set is not available in lego online shop. :-(

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 07:23

^^ Very excited for this, it is just a shame we are still going to be waiting for the Hobbit sets at that time.

Posted by Missing Brick in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 08:44

I got all the way to the checkout then saw delivery 18th Dec !! Sorry - thats too slow. It's only November 17. Sounds like there'd be a serious danger of not receiving it before Xmas. How come Amazon can deliver Lego the next day but TLG take over a month to deliver their own products?

Posted by billydeewilliams in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 09:11

The site refers to this as "Early Access to Exclusive Offers". So can we assume it (the limited edition set, at least) will be available again, to all, later this month / next month?

Posted by Margot in United States, 17 Nov 2012 09:16

10% is not a very good deal. I thought they were having their black friday deals today.

Posted by Thomson & Thompson in Canada, 17 Nov 2012 10:06

I'm guessing that they will have more sales around the black friday weekend.

Posted by rainstorm26 in United States, 17 Nov 2012 10:40

The deal isn't that great. Spending $149 to receive the 10% off???? Come on. Just make it a flat 10% on all purchases.

Posted by flashente in Germany, 17 Nov 2012 11:28

Here in Germany all options are available:

spend over 30 € -- free delivery
spend over 75 € -- free delivery + christmas set
spend over 125 € -- free delivery + christmas set + 10% off

Maybe it's possible to order from Switzerland.?

Posted by rnsrobot in Canada, 17 Nov 2012 11:37

Wife is placing a Christmas order today. I'm sorely tempted to wait til next weekend to see if there are any major sales, but it's all good. Get them here in plenty of time for the holiday.

Posted by Mickitat in Germany, 17 Nov 2012 12:07

Thanks for the info, I did not get an email.
Haunted house it is!

Posted by Noahs-Dad in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 15:12

In the UK the double points today is only on a few limited Star Wars sets. This is better than last month when it was the free birthday cake poly bag and free delivery. The Xmas Train poly bag is way bigger and better, more value and the 10% off is decent if your buying a big set. The first email I got sent said it was "early access to the offers for VIP members". So basicaly they are saying this offer will be available again to everyone. I can't see that they will improve on this offer though as that would discredit LEGO and how they value and treat their VIP members. So I'd say if you can't afford to buy right now, then don't worry as you will get the exact same offer again soon, and LEGO never run out of stock.

Posted by yodalego in United Kingdom, 17 Nov 2012 16:01

I made 4 separate orders over £100 so got 4 of the train sets free
I also clicked through topcashback.co.uk for 7% off lego today and the 10% on lego site. Not bad all in all 17% off:-
Haunted house
B wing
2 x new winter sets to build all 4 years sets with the kids, one each weekend from 1st dec. yay!!!

Posted by Yellow in Hungary, 17 Nov 2012 16:09

I'm afraid that for those countries that are not listed in todays promotion, will not be listed in next weeks promotion either. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.
Anyway I sent an email to LEGO customer service that I don't agree with this policy not including ALL countries in a promo.
Please everybody supporting GLOBAL promotions send an email to LEGO customer service that EVERYBODY would like to get the same promos the chosen few gets.

Posted by cinemajay in United States, 18 Nov 2012 00:14

So I tried calling Lego about not getting double points, the free set, 10% off, etc. and couldn't get through. I sent them an email. I'm thinking I might cancel if this doesn't get resolved. This is the second time I've plunked down some major cash and they've messed up a promo.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 18 Nov 2012 04:15

@yellow my thoughts (and fears) exactly, it's just not fair that only certain countries get these offers. I really want the Christmas set, missed out on the two mini sets from last year and had to pay a premium from 3rd-party sellers just to get my hands on them, really hoping the offer is more global next week...

Posted by lucienc in United Kingdom, 18 Nov 2012 06:08

It's not delivery on 18th December, that's the last day for ordering for Christmas delivery :

"For delivery by December 25th:
- Standard Shipping: 23:59 GMT December 18th.
- Express Shipping: 23:59 GMT December 18th."
