...which means one thing here at Brickset: we begin our review of the contents of the Advent calendars day by day! This year we'll have more work, what with there being three calendars to open, build, photograph and review every day but, well, it's a labour of love and I know how much you all enjoyed it last time :-).

Last year there was some complaint that seeing them here before you'd opened yours spoiled it for you. I'll probably be posting the articles late afternoon/early evening (GMT) so if you don't want to see them, you can remove them from the news listing by customising your news interests and un-ticking 'Advent countdown'.

Tomorrow's will be posted late evening because I, and all the UK-based staff, are off to the Brickish Christmas party at LEGOLAND Windsor, so check back then for the first installment.

Didn't buy a calendar this year, so I'll be following the articles without complaint. :)

Sounds good to me, I really enjoy these mini reviews, I have the Star Wars and City calendars so particularly look forward to those two. Best of all though, on the 1st of December I can finally bring myself to listen to Christmas songs!

Have fun at the Christmas party! I can't wait for us to begin opening the Advent doors. I wonder if we'll find any more toilet rolls :P

LOL, didn't we chuckle over the toilet rolls last year :-)

It's Saturday morning here already and we've just opened the first door. Looking forward to sharing the advent countdown with you all!

I've got the City one, so I'm interested in what's in the Friends and Star Wars ones. How many pointless, smaller than Minifigure legs, models will there be in the Star Wars one?

Posted by Legolover9531 in United States, 30 Nov 2012 18:06

I have the Star Wars one. I don't need to worry about spoilers considering I open it up first thing in the morning.

My daughters been waiting to open the Friends calendar. Hard to believe its Christmas time already!

the reviews for me need to be earlier! not later!

Morning All - opened ours this morning. So far IMO impressed with the first ones from City and Friends. Star Wars one not so much. However it's LEGO at the end of the day so all good :)

Any idea what the codes are for in SW calendar???

Posted by number5 in United Kingdom, 01 Dec 2012 05:31

Waiting for the two kids to wake up, Friends and Star Wars awaits.

Since you have not posted the first builds yet today I will ask my question here.

Went to the site listed on the back of the Star Wars advent calendar and it redirected me to a Lucas Arts game page. Any body else having this problem.. December 1st 2012.

Posted by Chills in United States, 01 Dec 2012 09:19

@Spazman: I just tried the same thing and was also sent to the LA game page. I wonder what's up.

Posted by number5 in United Kingdom, 01 Dec 2012 09:24

@Spazman, Chills - did you try the link I submitted before?

Posted by Tricky Brick in New Zealand, 01 Dec 2012 15:01

Thanks number5 - that does seem to be the right page but it's having trouble loading. The advent calender link of the LEGO Star Wars home page wasn't working all day yesterday (the 1st) from here so maybe it's set to US time and wasn't live until now?? Bit disappointed as I was looking forward to that extra level of SW advent fun!

Thanks number5
