Interesting. They have been listed for December 31st for a few days now. The new date means you will get the sets before Santa.

Totally Awesome! I really keen on the Master Splinter fig.

The price points are surprisingly nice. Three of the sets range from $18-$30 Canadian and contain three of the four turtles. Shredder and Krang are easy to get. The lair is only $60 CDN. I was concerned it would cost a couple hundred to get all four turtles within sets. It's great for a line geared at a younger audience that half the sets can be had for low...

Plus, every set except Baxter has a Foot Soldier in it - can't NOT army build. I'll wait for sales, but I might pick a few up after all...

I don't think the sets are brilliant, no, but darn it I want those figures, and I'm prepared to push people out of the way to get them.

I have a feeling that through bricklink you'll be able to pick up parts from these sets cheap as everyone will want the figures. This theme didn't win me over now having seen the released pics.

Wow, everyone is on point today! I went right over to LEGO.com and was SHOCKED at the prices. So cheap, it was amazing! This does however scare me into thinking this is geared to quickly sell and sell to a younger crowd probably for pure pleasure and fun sake. Which is fine! But I do not think I will be picking up doubles of every set. If anything I will head over to bricklink and pick up the figs that way.

Joy, perhaps retailers will stock them soon too. Unfortunately I can't switch my region over at the LEGO shop because my IE Browser is acting old as outdated again. Anybody care to list the CND prices?

Minifigs look great but all the buildings/cars look like designed by a 5-year-old. Come on Lego, you can do better than this...

Up so early? I was hoping they'd wait a bit before selling this garbage. Don't even consider these worth buying, Huw. :D

I think Faefrost summed up the situation pretty well in this Eurobricks post: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=74784&st=525#entry1452277

"The Turtle sets are almost predestined to suffer a bit in this regard. In the new cartoon the Turtle vehicles are supposedly made mainly of junk. Well when you try and make a Lego vehicle based on source material that is designed to look like a pile of junk, then by design the end product looks a bit junky. (Kind of the root problem with the new Shellraiser vs the classic Turtle van.)"

Personally, I think the TMNT sets are great. I'm not a Turtles fan in any capacity, but I can recognize that the sets are pretty excellent likenesses of the source material, considering the price points they are built for and the building level of the target age range. They definitely use some extremely creative building techniques. I honestly think anyone who suggests they look like they were built by a five-year-old isn't looking hard enough or comparing them objectively to their source material and to other sets aimed at the same sort of audience (like, for instance, the LEGO Spongebob Squarepants sets, which also tend to seem a bit sketchy in design but use some magnificently clever building techniques to suggest their highly irregular subject matter).

In the USA, the sets are listed now as being available Dec. 24th. However, all sets but the lair and Baxter are available to order from Toys R Us.com.

But beware, they are overpriced a lot.
