Here's a quick summary of news I've been alerted to over the last few days:

    • The next Architecture set will be Imperial Hotel, as revealed by Amazon.fr. I imagine it's going to be the Imperial Hotel Tokyo designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, but I might be mistaken. (Thanks Alexis)
    • Amazon.co.uk has just listed a lot of 2013 sets including thirteen Legends of Chima sets. There's no release date given, but we now have an idea of prices.
    • The Brick Show team has four of the six TMNT sets and has posted video reviews on YouTube
    • LEGO has updated the retiring soon list at shop.LEGO.com (US). It's now quite a long list, which includes Imperial Shuttle 10212 and Diagon Alley 10217. (Thanks dreisbaugh)
    • ASDA in the UK has 25% off all LEGO until midnight Monday (Thanks Andrew H)
    • TMNT sets are now available from Toys R Us in the USA .
    • There's a new brand retail shop opening in Yorkdale Mall, Toronto, Canada. There's a picture, and some discussion about it, on flickr.
    • A temporary LEGO store has opened in Stockholm in the Skrapan shopping centre. More info on Facebook.
    • ShopForMe has opened a bricks-and-mortar store in Australia at 506 Lygon Street, Brunswick East 3057. More info on Facebook
    • If you're in Australia you can enter a competition on Facebook to 'Win a blockbuster LEGO Gandalf Statue'. There's only 10 entries at the moment, so you're in with a good chance of winning! (Thanks altaris100)

I think the "Retiring soon" list is a great idea. Nothing more frustrating that deciding to finally purchase set XXXX just to find out you're a week too late.

Yorkdale Mall is even closer to me :) I hope it's a bigger store than Fairview. But I do feel bad for those that don't have a LEGO store near them yet like in BC or out east. I'm sure it would be a hit

The "Retiring Soon" is smart for LEGO (in terms of making money). Quite a few of the sets show as sold out at retail price without having gone on clearance.

In case you haven't seen it, LEGO is holding a Happy Holiplay Contest for the month of December with both Daily and Grand Prizes. - http://happyholiplay.lego.com/

I entered won the daily prize of Olivia's House (3315) for December 8th with this photo of LEGO CMF Santas at Portland's Annual Santacon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wiredforsound23/8256487476/

BOGO 50% off at Target for City items. They have a Forest Police Station/Off Road command Center for $110, $10 off, and it can be BOGO'd as well if someone wants 2, if so, they will save $75.

What does Lego mean by a temporary Lego store in Sweden?

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2012 14:12

Assuming those are the actual Chima RRP prices, The Croc set is very overpriced at £70.00 and should really be £50 for the size. Some of the other sets are also very pricey. Retiring soon list is genius.

I really hope that Eagle set isn't really £30...

Finally! Yorkdale is right on my route home! This is amazing news, thank you so much HUW!

Still nothing about the Lego Store opening in Saint Louis next May? Doesn't that count as news?

I saw the Shop for me store a couple of days ago quite by chance as we passed by in a car! Not had a chance to visit yet though

Went on Amazon UK for another look at the Chima prices but they aren't there anymore.

The Brickset effect strikes again. Lego were watching the feed.

I'm a little confused here. Why precisely is Olivia's Speedboat listed as retiring soon? Was that, or was that not only just released in the past few months. Most of the sets I could understand retiring soon if they're from a year or more ago, but LEGO is going to retire a set in the Friends line presumably not making any more of them only from just the past... five or six months? Isn't that a bit... Early?

Oh well, just means I'll have to be sure to pick that up before it vanishes at retail.

Some of the smaller Friends sets (41000, 41002, 41003, 41004, and 41011) are now out. And the Friends Series 1 will be $4.99, and out on the 17th. The TMNT sets are now for the 24th to come out.

And so today my XMas gift left Amazon.it: Imperial Shuttle 10212 will be reaching my house tomorrow afternoon. Apparently only one is left at 208€ now...
