Copenhagen shopping report

I suspect you all thought I was on vacation for a week, but actually I'm on a fact finding mission to LEGO brand stores in Northern Europe :-)

Today I've been in Copenhagen and to the brand store there. Sadly there wasn't much worth buying other than the only unique thing I could find, an 'I love Copenhagen' key chain. No 2013 sets in store at all. However in the two nearby BR toy shops they did have some 2013 Star Wars, Ninjago and a few City Fire sets. Danish prices are 10-20% higher than elsewhere so I came away empty handed.

On Tuesday I will be in Hamburg checking out the store there. I don't suppose they have 2013 sets either but if you know of a toy shop in the city that does, please let me know in the comments.

Hi Huw, how was the pick-a-brick wall there? It's generally pretty good - dark tan tiles spring to mind!

Nothing caught my eye although it was rammed and boiling hot in there and I was dressed in about 4 layers so wanted to get out as quickly as possible!

Regarding Hamburg, there is the "Karstadt - Spiel und Sport" on your way from the LEGO store to the central train station. I have not been there recently, so I have no idea about the 2013 sets, but since it is only 100m away from the LEGO shop, you may want to give it a try.

Bilka, a large Danish allround shop have loads of 2013 sets. Hobbits, city, Starwars...

Kvickly, a smaller Danish supermarket, has 30% of on some of the 2013 sets - mostly City and Friends. This is a link to their "sales this week": http://minreklame.ipapercms.dk/Kvickly/371_20220_0fe7c849897679d9d1d1aae2acbc9a35/

And yes, the LEGO Store tends to be very hot. I usually leave my coat on the counter while browsing the Pick'a'brick wall, and often gets mistaken for an employee. The other employees seem to appreciate me "stealing work from them" though, even when I explain to kids how they can cram even more bricks into their pick-a-brick-cup.

If the world doesn't end then?

and yes, the German stores have some of the 2013 sets!

Opposite the "Karstadt - Spiel unde Sport", there is the "Galeria Kaufhof", at the 4th floor, there is a section for LEGO.
