New microsites at LEGO.com

The Toy Story and Atlantis sites have been updated this week. There is some cool wallpaper to be had at nice high resolutions. But I wish they made some of them widescreen: surely most people have widescreen PC monitors these days don't they?

Some of the other sites are in dire need of an update: Star Wars for example still has wallpapers from products that have been obsolete for years. (Thanks to Hamish for the news)

Toy Story is a good replacement for Sponge Bob, But to get rid of Pirates for Atlantis?? come on, who do they have on the board for making these choices?
Second, are the castle themed fantasy ending this year and going to a new type of castle? I saw they changed the name to kingdoms? are trolls and the whole LOTR thing ending this year? what happened to elves? They really need to think about who is making these bad choices.. Sales low/ don't just change things, scale back on production.. the economy is bad right now, it's not because you guys made bad sets.. The economy plays a major role in how much money AFOL's have to spend on Legos. I'd spend $10K USD on Lego's every year if I had the money.. But with only 1 person in a two person family working. it's hard to spend a lot..

@Legowomen1980p - The elves sets were rumoured but that was proven unfounded, and Kingdoms is replacing fantasy era this year, and rather than having trolls and skeletons, the characters will all be human.

@Kevin30 - By 'finish Star Wars up' if you mean end the theme, that would be a ridiculous decision as it is the most popular series, and they have extended the license into 2011!

Anyway, the Star Wars site certainly does need a bit of an update! I was wondering when they would complete the Atlantis and Toy Story microsites, I think they should have it ready to go live before the release of the sets, and then when the sets are released, so is the microsite. Simple!

I for one don't have a widescreen monitor. But then I'm not interested in those wallpapers anyway...

The Atlantis site is fantastic. It's got so much content, two different technological interactions (3D and Augmented Reality). It really is Lego's best site ever. If they could do this well for all of them, the Lego site would be golden.
