    30250: Ewar's Acro Fighter
    Legends Of Chima, 2013
    More details...
    ©2013 LEGO Group

Spend £50 (UK) or $75 (USA/Canada) at shop.LEGO.com from now until the end of January, and you'll receive a free 30250 Legends of Chima Ewar's Acro Fighter polybag. In the UK, there's free shipping until 14 January on orders over £50 too. Click on the banner at the top of the page to get shopping.

For some reason best known to LEGO, the only 2013 sets available at shop.LEGO.com in the UK at the moment are LoC and Friends, and it's the same in the brand stores too.

I received the paper S@H catalogue a few days ago, which claims that other 2013 sets will be 'available for purchase on 1st January', so hopefully they'll be added overnight. Interestingly, the paper catalogue does not contain TMNT or Galaxy Squad. I hope that's because of a lack of space and not because they won't be available yet.

Grogall has uncovered an online copy of the Italian consumer catalogue which is interesting to see. It doesn't contain TMNT either, and Galaxy Squad is shown as being available in March. It does however show the new architecture set Imperial Hotel and series 2 of the Friends polybags.

addictedtostyrene tells me that "Myer in Brisbane Australia have 2013 Ninjago, Hobbit sets ... as well as CMF series 9" so it looks as if the UK is the last place to be able to buy the new Ninjago sets :-(

I guess we'll have to see what happens overnight tonight...

I don't see why Lego are not releasing most 2013 sets until January when in previous years, they've even released after Boxing Day. The prices on many are also a bit shocking.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 04:58

In previous years the brand stores stocked them a few days before Christmas, but it's totally different this year. I guess one reason may be that it enables them to shift old stock when people come in with their Christmas money, and judging by how busy the Brighton store was on Saturday, they shifted plenty.

I understand their reasons for not releasing new sets until after Christmas, but I think it would make more sense if perhaps they released them late on around the 22nd of December. That way, people who really wanted the new sets could get them but they would still have been clearing stock for much of the run up to Christmas so everybody wins!

I'd be surprised and disappointed if galaxy squad really is released as late as march in the UK considering they've already been available in Canada and the US for a month now - has there ever been a 4 month difference in release for any other theme?

In the slip that comes with the latest club magazine it says that TMNT will be available from February.

Posted by supersympa in Sweden, 31 Dec 2012 05:29

this year for example, you had superheroes all across Europe from Jan but in Scandi countries, it came in May!
might be the same with Galaxy squad.
Also a friend in France told me galaxy squad won't be available before a few months.

TMNT sets are listed on the Argos website but I don't think they're available to buy yet.

Posted by TheLEGOmaniac in Denmark, 31 Dec 2012 06:28

Here in Denmark, only the new Star Wars, Friends, Ninjago and City Fire sets are available at S@H. All the other 2013 sets have yet to show up. Also, here we have to spend 650 DKK to get that polybag (£71, $115)...

@Huw in my lego magazine on the back of it it says:
"Meanwhile there's something new in HERO FACTORY, a new power rises in Ninjago, I join forces with the LEGO CITY Fire Fighters and we get a sneak peak at the new LEGO TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES coming in February.

Happy reading!
MAX
P.S Your next magazine will be on its way to you in March!"

So the official release date for LEGO TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES in the UK is February.
By the way did anybody else get a free 3-D lego chima sticker?

Posted by TyoSolo in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 06:45

^Unfortunately not :-( - I get the girls version for my daughter, which had a free Heartlake City Friends poster in it. It did have a Turtles feature, and the following message:

"Meanwhile there's something new in LEGO CITY where things are a bit more hectic, Max is spending the day with the Fire Brigade and we get a sneak peak at the new LEGO TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES coming in February.

Happy reading and see you soon!
NINA
P.S Your next magazine will be on its way to you in March!"

Edit: They also appear in the Club Jr magazine.

I have to agree with Firox 5000 on the prices. I was really excited to see the Snowspeeder, A Wing and Rancor sets, but then I looked at the prices and they are the same as the US, just in pounds, not dollars.
Does anyone know of any easy way to buy direct from the US in dollars and get shipping to the UK that's not too expensive? It seems grossly unfair that the US gets the same sets for 2/3 of the price, as if whoever decided the prices hasn't actually noticed the different currencies and exchange rates!

Posted by Kez in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 07:00

^^ Unlucky, all you need to do is apply for a boys one to get better freebies :-)
In my magazine they had 2 pages dedicated to TMNT

Posted by TyoSolo in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 08:26

^^It's not wholly fair, but our prices include all relevant taxes, whereas in the US some people have to pay state tax on purchases, so the price you see isn't always the price you pay.

Posted by zipsforbananas in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 09:05

^That does lessen the blow somewhat, and I have just noticed that the Snowspeeder set is actually cheaper, so it's just the A-Wing and Rancor sets that I'm not happy about. And saying that, the A-Wing is still not all that much, and we always knew the Rancor would be extortionate for it's piece count, so I guess it's all as expected!

Yesterday I picked up The Rancor Pit at my local Target (Madison, WI).
Still no series 9 minifigures to be found.

Posted by legostudios34 in United States, 31 Dec 2012 09:38

I saw the Galaxy Squad sets and the Horizon Express in the Lego Store in Nashville, TN yesterday.

Posted by dcmal in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 09:57

The German copy of the consumer catalogue can be found at http://cache.lego.com/Flash/Portal/OnlineCatalog/de-de/Version13/pageflipdata/pdf/lego_januar-juli.pdf.

According to the catalog, Chima, new Ninjago, Creator and Friends hit stores in January, City in January and March, Star Wars in February (except planets in May), new Technic sets in February and March, Lone Ranger in Mai. No mention of TMNT or Galaxy Squad.

Posted by TheMinifigFreak in United States, 31 Dec 2012 11:11

I find that interesting for once the US has something first. I got all the Galaxy Squad, TMNT, and the Rancor Pit for Christmas and are still all available at ToysRUs

Posted by sitkawitka in United States, 31 Dec 2012 12:53

My local toys R us had a few TMNT sets a week before christmas so I got those before christmas. People have TMNT sets on ebay also and Have you checked lego .com in the us they have tmnt and new superheroes ses as well

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 13:26

Visited the Watford Lego store, I was told (after asking) that we're not getting TMNT sets until March. :-(

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 31 Dec 2012 16:47

In Australia, we also have some of the new town sets. I saw the Museum Heist, and the little police ATV, last week at the same time as the new Ninjago (already own the Fire Mecha) and the new minifigs.

We've had the new Hobbit sets for ages, though.

Posted by davedude in Canada, 31 Dec 2012 20:13

got the canadian catalouge, it has all the new sets from star wars, ninjago, the two dc & marvel sets, TMNT , all the LoC and Galaxy Squad and only the MF House :(

Posted by zipsforbananas in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2012 20:31

Overnight news - they're up and available to buy! (At least the Star Wars sets I'm looking out for are, I didn't check anything else but I can't imagine they'd put one theme up and not the rest!)

Posted by ant1234lego in United Kingdom, 01 Jan 2013 13:02

Why did they have legends of chima early and not others, that's weird?????

Posted by wiredforsound in United States, 03 Jan 2013 17:29

The 30250 set which is free with $75 purchase is amazing - http://www.flickr.com/photos/wiredforsound23/8343903388/
