Mine's on the way, shipping didn't seem to be free for me but i'm so impatient i always use express shipping anyway. Been waiting for this one so nice to have it released a couple of weeks early.

I will be picking this up. My favorite modular is still the Grand Emporium. The Pet Shop is my second favorite with the Green Grocer rounding out the top 3. I'd put the Cinema at 4 and the Town Hall at 5.

The email I got Thursday evening from Lego said that Standard Shipping is free if you're buying the Cinema - the small print however says that is any orders of £119.99 or more from 14th to 28th Feb.

Didn't need it though as when the email arrived mine was already half built cos I'd picked it up in store at lunchtime.

I just placed an order for mine today due to what I read above. Free express shipping? I went to the site to validate and sure enough - - free 1-2 day shipping! So with the free police helicopter I get and paying no sales tax it was worth it for me. Now I dont have to pay sales tax in March when I was originally planning on to get double points.

I was put in a bit of a dilemma when given the choice about either ordering it early or waiting 1.5 month to get double VIP points. But the option of early ordering and free delivery at once makes it obvious. I'm hoping to get the time to write an early review for Eurobricks. =)

so i just did an experient. I went back to the website and tried putting into my cart the new train that is out, and it was going to charge me shipping! So obviously I deleted it but I have proven that lego is specifically offering free shipping, all methods, on the cinema ONLY.

In the US I had the Cinema and the new bucket of bricks in my cart and all items had free express shipping. I think as long as your purchasing the Cinema your whole order should qualify.

Thankfully I found if you are having the same problem, use the URL on this article then click on another item, look at "recently viewed" then add to basket. But thanks for the help

I saw the build-up model in a LEGO store this weekend, and it's a fantastic looking set. I don't collect the modular buildings myself, but anyone who does is sure to love this one.

Just ordered mine yesterday and got free express shipping! Has this happened to anyone else? I have asked other people and express shipping wasn't free for them? Anyway I'm very impatient so I can't stop thinking about it!

Got one from the Milton Keynes store yesterday, so far I have built the first floor and looks great, one thing I did notice on the box was that the set title and piece count are missing from the printing, 16+ and set number are there but nothing else which I thought was a bit odd, has anyone else noticed this or know why it's missing?

Also unable to get the express shipping free here (Ireland) but our domestic post system usually means its two to three days at worst anyway, so I'm not sure what the point ever is. Already shipped so I expect it'll be here Tuesday.

I've also ordered one yesterday, with free shipping. I Always use standard shipping, that's so fast (usually delivered in 2-3 days) that ordering with express shipping is not really necessary. Can't wait to start building :)

Here's a list of noticeable things after building it.
1- blemishes in the glass once more
2- lamp post is a different mold from previous modulars....older ones are better, this one has a more rectangular lower half
3-the tan tiles 1x2 with one stud on top, that go into building the first floor black outside rail, are 2 different types: with and without small ridge around the bottom. it's not in the instructions, but alternate them and it looks nicer
4-all decorations are stickers except for the stars on the pavement
5-the castle type brown windows on the second floor do not have glass, doesn't exist i think, but they look off without anythign in them.
6- recommend to order type 1 brown door frames to put the stickers in between the glass (needs 3 extra glass) , instead of sticking them on the glass. Unfortunately, i just bought the last off Bricklink :-)

Anyway, great set!!

Got mine last Friday built by Saturday afternoon very pleased with it. Not too sure about the limo though looks unfinished and not really part of the set. My only complaint is the female minifigures is the same one which comes with pet shop. Surlely Lego could of thought of another one to include. I have nearly 600 in my collection and I guess they have more than me. When is the next modular out ? Anyone know ?

@TheLegoExpert and @Jestia: When I bought mine at the store they required my VIP card. The sign in the store said it was only available early to VIPs, although of course anyone can sign up to be a VIP on the spot. I was thinking that the early release was actually a plug to increase the number of VIP members.

@Chilis: I just got back from the store at Rockefeller Center, they're selling it for $163.99 and the store in Queens they're selling it for $149.99. I guess the rent is higher in Manhattan :)

They didn't seem to have any Palace Cinema sets at the Bluewater when I was there last night. They might have been hidden in the stock room though - I didn't ask.

Received it yesterday, lovely building but the limo is just disastrous! Utterly feels like a total hindsight creation with very little imagination involved! They'd have been better off using that piece count for additional extras inside.

Received mine today! came with the police helicopter too. I am so excited, I dont know when I will have time to build it! I still have the town hall to build. Maybe I will start with the helicopter to take some of the bite out...

I got free normal shipping, and it arrived the next day (with the helicopter).

btw normally shipping takes a day extra because it's shipped from Germany with the DPD, but this one arrived with TNTpost from the Netherlands, so I believe they now have a storage in the Netherlands, so express shipping is totally useless for residents in the Netherlands. Why pay €29,95 extra for the same service???
