    Since I started on my mission to improve the quality of our set images two weeks ago, I've had a tremendous response to my plea for scans of instruction covers.

    In total, there are about 1644 new scans on the site: 1102 that I've created, of nearly every set I own up to 2005, and over 500 that have been submitted by others.

    They've been submitted by too many people to list here, and I'd like to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to scan and send them. I will however just mention Slq, W Joey, Michael S and Kellee F who have been particularly prolific over the last week or so and have kept my mailbox stuffed with high quality scans, including this beauty of a car and caravan. They don't make sets like that any more!

    But, there's still more to gather, so take a look at these lists (sets I own that need a better image and sets I own with no image) and see if you can help. At the moment I am concentrating on sets released last millennium: I'll ask you for sets from the 2000s in due course, once I've finished my own.

Hi, how about hi-res scans of boxes for alternate builds (older sets) ? Anyway thanks a lot for this great LEGO collector site to its supporters. Good work!

If I have some of the sets on the list, are photos of the instructions considered a higher priority than photos of the box? I ask because sometimes the box and instructions have basically the same image, but the one on the front of the box is larger and clearer.

Some of the sets you listed have no apparent instruction booklet. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=2494-1, http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=1194-1, and http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6326-1 for example.

I can probably get a scan of the instructions for http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6389-1 and I might be able to get some for http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6455-1. That set has four instruction books and they all have a different cover. I have all of them but they are in horrendous condition. A box image would probably be better because it shows the whole set and not just it's components.

Some City sets from the 1990s were a nuisance, weren't they, not having an overall picture on any of the instruction covers.

There's 30 or so images I could submit with better quality. I pity I haven't got acces to a scanner at the moment, but maybe later in the spring...

^^^ That probably mans you don't have anything that we need pics for, then. But, just in case, this list: http://www.brickset.com/search/advanced/run/?q=582, shows all the important sets we need images for (i.e. not Duplo etc.)

What is wrong with the current images? Some of them look fine to me. Are you just trying to establish continuity?

@crazylegoman. I assume Hew wants the instruction images because they don't have stuff like peace count and age range obscuring the set.

Huw, there is some sort of disconnect between the earlier advanced query links and at least some of the sets folks have. I have a couple of the sets listed in q=582 (off the top of my head 6008 Royal King for sure) but neither q=542 or q=572 as linked in the originating post return ANY results for me.

Win 7 x64 using Firefox 19.0 with cookies enabled, Java and Flash installed if that info helps any.

I have the instructions and unused sticker sheet for exo-force set collection 66200 (the sticker sheet is for 66200 only). Once I get some time, I'll get one of our lovely staff to scan it and send it out. It is a little unusual as it is for a product collection, in that they are instructions that show how to combine the 3 models of the collection from a designers point of view. Nothing impressive but interesting nonetheless. Be warned, its entirely in Japanese but pretty straight forward if you aren't interested in the designers story of the model techniques.

Its just a clumsy thing to scan since its 4 A4s folded on each other (so back to back thats 8 A4s). I also have the packaging, which is no more that a rectangular strip of cardboard that once held the 3 sets of the collection together under a cellophane wrap. As much as the strip may be useless it has the barcode, the set number, 'lego group 2006' and some small graphics. Funnily enough about Japanese, my mindstorms 8527 instructions are completely in Japanese too, but I dont think I'll get them scanned.

Huw, I have 811 and 6420 in box but it may take a little while to get a camera set up for pictures with decent light (you could of course order them from my BL shop ;- ).
I have a few more in my list that I can scan instructions for but the images you have also look like instruction scans. What exactly are you looking for to improve the pictures? Just bigger size/resolution?

So I have a few that you need. Do i just pop the instructions cover in my scanner and go or do you want the full instruction sheet for the smaller sets like 1596, ghostly hideout, or 1729.

For those of us with the talent, is it okay to do image touch ups in Photoshop of the scans? Erasing small creases and such?
