    Thanks to Phil T we now have what might be a complete set of World Show brochures for the 1980's. (If you know differently, get in touch!)

    This one, from 1982 might be World Show 2, although it doesn't say as much on it.

    Now, what should we add here next? 'Bricks and Pieces' magazine has been suggested... :-)

I must say that I find the way they used to build these brilliant models out of ordinary lego bricks quite amazing! It's nice to have the complete set of the world show folders now.

Um, excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by "Bricks and Pieces" magazine? Are you going to start a magazine?

I also have some birthday / christmas cards from this era featuring the models from the World Shows and the brochure/book from The Art of LEGO exhibition. Just let me know if you'd like me to share.

Bricks and Pieces was the LEGO club magazine in the 1970s and 1980s. It was written in an 'adult style' and contained interesting articles. It was actually worth reading. In other words it was nothing like the glorified advertising brochure that it's become today...

@legobob, no I mean the LEGO Club Magazine that these days is full of cartoons, 'guess the difference' competitions, 'exclusive sneak previews' of sets and themes that have been out for months, and pictures of models that are BOLOCS (http://www.minifig.co.uk/default.asp?id=14&letter=B)

Congrats Huw, on 'collecting them all'... glad I could start the ball rolling! :)

and yes... the middle pages are the same as in one of the other shows...
maybe they were in the same year, or maybe they re-used part of the show, when travelling to Australia, or abroad.

I would love the old lego club mags on here but I would also like to see old catalogues not the ones we get now from lego shop at home but the older ones!!?!

I second that! The old catalogs were pretty awesome because they not only had set pictures but these panoramic scenes made out of Lego. Lego still does that to an extent with the pictures on the end portion of instruction books. It would be nice to have a gallery that focuses on that sort of promotional diorama stuff.

There are plenty of catalogue scans at Peeron: http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/?ct=1, but I see they've stopped at 2001 and the presentation there is not great so maybe that is something I can add here in the future.
