Cuusoo Pick: The Twist and Whirl Carnival Ride, Batman Tumbler approaches 10k.
This week we have returned to Dynamic projects, ones that use technical elements to animate the proposed set in some fashion. DerekMedina's Twist & Whirl is an excellent example of this.
Additionally, BrentWaller's Batman Tumbler is crawling to 10,000. At this point it is about 50 support away but it is taking its time. If I had to guess, I would say that a big reason for this slow progression is that three Tumblers have already been produced, one of which is currently available. Regardless, the Tumbler will get to 10,000 well before the June deadline for this review period.
This build replicates a carnival ride, and quite well indeed. As a minifig scaled carnival ride, this set is thematically somewhat similar to 10196: The Grand Carousel and would make a great addition to a presentation including it.
The mechanics of the build is accomplished by rotating a large plate around a central axis. This accomplishes the primary rotation of the seats.
The individual seats are rotated by a series of gears mounted under the rotating plate. These gears are forced to spin though their connection to a stationary gear mounted to the baseplate.
The Last dynamic project to be picked was the Brick Sorting Excavator. This ingenious design grips a row of bricks and drops said bricks into piles based on their size.
A Week of Cuusoo
On top of that, this project manages to get a surprising amount of character out of the brick!
Other projects of note were the Old Bangle (a vintage car), Tractor with Butterfly Grass Mower, and Milwaukee Art Museum.
