How have I never seen that set before...

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 07 Dec 2007 16:51

Good point David, I chose that because I liked the look of it :) I have changed it to something which _is_ available!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 07 Dec 2007 17:33

So, Huw, when will you have the new 2008 Star Wars sets? Is it only a matter of time?

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 07 Dec 2007 18:32

Great info, thanks for that!

I hadn't seen that new cargo truck until today. I've gotta get that one, the forklift is nearly an exact model of the one we have in the warehouse where I work :D

Posted by marcussmithAFTERTHECRASH, 07 Dec 2007 18:36

Whoo! Finally!

Posted by zuloon, 07 Dec 2007 18:54

No, David1985, I saw it at ToysRUs last Sunday.

Posted by Stealth Bomb in United States, 07 Dec 2007 19:45

What set are you guys talking aboput? Wanyway, just saw these. I wont buy them, hopefully christmas will!!

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 08 Dec 2007 01:15

I hope star wars will come out before christmas.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 08 Dec 2007 04:37

> So, Huw, when will you have the new 2008 Star Wars sets?
> Is it only a matter of time?

We get our product feed ultimately from LEGO. When they appear on S@H they will be in it and appear in the 2008 list.

Posted by Adventurers_Rule_, 08 Dec 2007 08:09

What about BIONICLE and Castle!?

Posted by deluckybrick in United States, 08 Dec 2007 12:24

Just wondering Huw, why are you even calling them 2008 sets if you just got the feed from Lego in 2007?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 Dec 2007 13:03

I think it's because they were due for 2008, but LEGO probably decided to be flexible.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 Dec 2007 18:02

Well, fighter, he's askin' why LEGO CALLS them '08 sets, not why they release them in the year before.

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 08 Dec 2007 18:07

LEGO is probably referring to them as to the projected saturation date...that's when an item can be found readily at any retailer who regularly sells LEGO, and not just sporadicly at specific stores.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 Dec 2007 18:25

Exactly! Lego sets the due date for 2008, but unexpectedly finishes them much earlier. So, why not sell them earlier?

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 08 Dec 2007 18:57

Because most larger retailers buy merchandise and set their stores in cycles.

Stores probably placed their orders for the winter LEGO assortments back in the summer and then took the information provided by LEGO (case assortment, box dimensions, etc.) to their planning departments where the next step takes place.

You'll notice after Christmas stores like Wal-Mart or Target will usually rearrange the toy aisles and move different products around on the shelves. Sometimes they even have sheets of paper attached to the shelves that show what goes where. These are called Plan-o-Grams and are created to maximize shelf display space and to save every store the trouble of wasting time and labor setting up its own shelves and trying to figure out where everything should go.

Now, with LEGO releasing its products in seasonal cycles, it allows these planning departments to work up Plan-O-Grams and determine when the new shipments should arrive in stores a little easier then some other toy lines.

Another consideration is existing stock. Many stores need to move out older stock before putting new items on the shelves. Christmas s a great time for this. By keeping older items on the shelves, it increases the chance they will be sold before the newer items even make it to the sales floor. If a store gets low on merchandise at say, the $20 price point, THEN they may roll out newer items at that price point as a stopgap just to keep sales going. But in general, they are going to want to sell what they've not been making any money on up to that point. This is also why a lot of (unpopular) LEGO sets go on clearance after Christmas, to make room for better selling and newer sets.

So, the best thing you can do is just be patient and use the extra ime to save up for everything :D

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 08 Dec 2007 23:19

Well, LEGO puts the new sets for the next year(in this case 2008) on pre-order online until january roles around then the sets are put into stores. For the previous year sets, the stores put them on clerance to help sell them by Christmas and if they don't then they mostly send them back LEGO, where LEGO gives them to sites such as amazon.com to sell them, I think. I don't know why we're getting them so early though. I think it's because the 2007 sets sold up fast. I think that's so because maybe if people found out that we almost lost the star wars sets 'cause the licese was originaly suposed to end this year people tried to grab them as fast as they could. That's probably why star wars 08 sets aren't here yet,'cause people are still to busy buying the 07 sets. );0

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 Dec 2007 12:16

Well, that's not what they did last year.

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 09 Dec 2007 14:40

If you look at the Toys R Us sales ad for this week, they're advertising some of the new sets as a "2008 SNEAK PEAK!".

So, they're actually using the fact that the '08 set are tricking out now as a marketing tool. I bet that thrills you to death. ;)

Posted by SillyQuack in United States, 09 Dec 2007 16:01

good idea for that, and deionychus, what exactly do you mean?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 Dec 2007 17:33

Yes, fighter, but those sets were on preorder, they didn't appear in stores 'til january. This year TRU has gotten really involved with the new next year sets.

P.S. I agree with you completely, deinonychus. ;)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 Dec 2007 20:30

Wow, deinonychus, your right. These sets are awsome. The TRU website finally does have some new 2008 sets which include the following:

7647 MX-41 Switch Fighter (Mars Mission)
7648 MT-21 Mobile Mining Unit (Mars Mission)
8494 Ring of Fire (Racers)
7741 Police Helicopter (City)
8155 Ferrari F1 Garage (Racers)
7743 Police Command Center (City)

They all look great, and are available on the TRU website for fair prices I'd say.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 09 Dec 2007 21:45

Well, david, that's true and It makes me upset sometimes that TRU likes to add more money than lego does. But what I meant was for these set's standards, the prices are good. Just visit the site, you'll be surprised.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 15:44

Look, fighter, right now I really don't care too much about the sets being on the internet, that happens all the time. What has really got me boggled is the fact that the new'08 sets appeared in stores BEFORE they were on the website, when last year it was COMPLETELY opposite.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 16:36

Ya, that is a good idea. What were we talkin' about in the first place. Oh ya, I remember. Look it doesn't really matter what year we refer to these new sets as. As long as we have them, I'm happy too, fighter. :)

But I'm still bummed about star wars. >:(

And personally I'd just like to refer to them as '08 sets. Nothing too it. ;)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 16:48

Apology accepted. And I can be stubborn sometimes when it comes to being right or wrong. :)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 10 Dec 2007 19:37

An easy way to settle this dispute would be to check the copyright date on the bottom of the box. I bought the Night Crusher in December of 06 but it was a 2007 model. This can be backed up by looking at the copyright on the bottom of the box. IF you check the last page of the directions there is a copyright listed there as well. End of story!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:02

Alright, sounds like a good idear mister bmw.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:06

look the reason why there are 2998 sets coming out in 2007 is because they are stocked up with certain sets. so they release them early for the holiday shopers.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:07

2008sets i mean.not 2998

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:09

Look, bigz123, we already settled this discussion. No nead to go into it again. /:|

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:12

i know.:)
i was just sayin what lego told me.:)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:15

Okay , alright, that's good to know. :)

I'm just tryin' to avoid "World War III," again. :D

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:18

hehe. i herd about some new type of lego coming out. some type of starwars set that hasent been herd of yet. the ucs general greavous starfighter. i think.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:22

yeh i also herd about the general grievous thing. i think it was a masters collection set

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 20:24

and i also herd about a death starI. i think there coming out in march??

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:03

Um, guys, I don't think that it is a USC General Grievous Starfighter, I think it is a technic General Grievous. And they come out in March did ya say? Wow, that's early considering that I thought they were coming out in July. But, ya, that grievous set is totally technic.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:11

Hey, guys, did ya'll here abput another star wars set that is comin' out. It's called Sharp Spiral, and it SUPPOSEDLIY NOT FOR SURE BUT SUPPOSEDLY comes with a lego model of Jedi Master Saesee Tinn's Orange Jedi Starfighter(maybe with booster ring) and the Saesee Tinn minifigure. But this set is just a rumor, so don't bark at me if I'm wrong.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:17

That would be cool if they came out with the sharp spiral with seasee tiin. i don't think it s a rumor because there are 8 clone wars sets comming that i cant wait for. oh The general grievous thing. im pretty sure i herd that it was a master collection wheel bike. (stuuuuuuupiiiiiiiiiid)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:27

Well, then why does the title just say General Grievous? Guys I'm pretty sure that it is a technic set I mean when the title is just a characters name then it's a technic set. And besides what if it was designed with spring-loaded arms, that would be so cool. And, oh that's what the 8 clone wars sets are, ooooooh I thought ya'll were talkin' about those new battle backs, you know the ones that come with rare figs, like one set only comes with the characters mace windu, kit fisto, luminara unduli, and ayla secura.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:36

if general grievous is just a tecnic set (and im just saying i herd wheel bike and a saw a picture of his star fighter) i still wouldn't buy it (im not much of a general grievous fan). The idea of spring arms does sound cool. Yeh i cant wait for the clone wars sets. if they came with the wierd alien jedi that lego hasn't made yet that would be awesome. like mace windu not a light up (i hate the light up ones)eeth koth new kit fisto(ithink the new one is a little wierd, aayla, coleman trebor, seasee tiin and more that would be awesome.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 21:53

Ok, fighter, the true item nuber for the grievous set is 10186, so it is an official set. And woudn't it be good if it was a technic set then episode 3 would finally have a technic set.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 22:12

ha! i knew that it was the starfighter. nobody beleives me:(

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 22:17

eccept fighter95

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 22:28

And me too! Well bigz when I first heard about this set I thought it was gona be a starfighter too. But when I read the title of the set one last time I thought nnnnaaaaaaaa it can't be a starfighter, or could it? I don't know, but I'm stickin' to my theory.

P.S. If it turns out that you were right and I was wrong and it is a starfigter, than you can rub it in my face if you want. ;D

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 10 Dec 2007 22:34

sorry for the kind of off topic post but what about the endor set impirial imperseation or somting like that

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 23:23

Imperial Impersonation, you know 'cause han and the others were "impersonating" as Imperials when they entered endor in episode six. Now I don't quite know why you don't know this already 'cause I've explained it to you before. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm bein' kinda mean but please listen up and I hope this helps: I heard about that set several months ago and I have not heard anything about it so far. It just hasn't come up 'til now. The only thing I know about it is that it is an Imperial Shuttle and it comes with endor han, luke, leia, chewie, and some endor rebel troops. I don't remember the item number, but I do know that it is rumored for 2008. I'm just excited about it 'cause I missed the first two Imperial Shuttles.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 23:42

Hey, fighter, I gotta say that it is really hard to believe that the grievous starfighter is a fake. The link that you gave us had a really convincing picture.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 10 Dec 2007 23:54

Hey fighter, I know this may be an off-topic comment but how do find those links to those sets on brickshelf? And would you mind finding one for Imperial Impersonation, you know for me and littlelegoluke.

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 00:32

The picture is all wrong. On its name it says the wrong words, and a UCS wouldn't be in that sorta box. I missed out on both shuttles to so i'd be with the idea. Oh and the turbo tank starded coming with a non-light up Mace Windu and 1 more clone sometime, after all my friend has a non-lightup Mace Windu. Go technic Grievous!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 00:37

Uh, I have a non-light up Mace Windu that came with the turbo tank and I got mine a year after it came out. And FYI a lot of things have changed for UCS sets.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 08:03

i have missed out on both shuttles but if there is a imperial impersonation. i will get it. sorry for the off topic but. in thelittlearmsshop.com they have endor leiha and han. but its 75 bucks!>:(

anyway it seems that on the replacmentparts page they have a nonlightup mace windu.

Posted by Monty in United Kingdom, 11 Dec 2007 08:29

In anticipation of the new “official” Ferrari FXX, I was comparing my MOC FXX (based on the Enzo - just like the real thing) to some photos of the new set. During handling the stickers on the Enzo cockpit area started to flake off in my hand as they have gone hard and brittle with the passage of time as well as peeling up around the edges. This is not the first older set with stickers on which this has happened and I would be curious to know how many other people have this problem. I just ask LEGO to PLEASE SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER USING STICKERS any more - can we not have only printed elements? In my experience some of these are good after 20 years despite being played with, whereas all of my snickered sets have just been displayed.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 11 Dec 2007 09:52

k thank u and wat r the links pleez.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 16:18

I'm sorry, fighter, but I don't remember the item number. You see the set was only posted for one day on wikipe.........um let's forget where I got it, okay. Bottom line I was too excited to know that there MIGHT be a set that actually comes with endor rebel troops to remember the item number but I'm pretty confident that it starts with 76. I guess I should have considerd that before askin'. And wait I thought that you weren't aloud to use the item number in the search on brickshelf, right?

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 11 Dec 2007 16:25

good idea not saying the name of the site. someone blasted me for that site too. really im not to interested in the impearial impearsonation just the endor troopers and the clone wars sets.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 16:32

Yes, I have that expereience from gettin' barked at by David1985. And maybe this set will be differently designed you know with some cool extras.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 11 Dec 2007 16:35

yeh david barked at me for the sith too. i guess i just don't like the look of the set. again i really want the clone wars sets.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 16:37

Ugh, me too. I can't wait to figure out what they are.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 17:44

i thought i found the imperial impersonation set but i couldnt find it anywhere. is this a ucs set?

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 11 Dec 2007 18:26

no it is not Bigz

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 18:46

Ya, it's not a UCS set. Well, what do you think bigz? Could it be a UCS set? I don't think it could 'cause I don't know does an imperial shuttle sound like a good UCS set to you?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 19:54

Hey guys, I was searchin' around on brickshelf for the 10188 set and you'll never guess what I found. I don't know if it is an actuall set but it looks pretty official. The set is called 10086 Starspeeder 3000. Here's the link:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=394260

If you notice, you can find an R2-D2 figure.

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 20:16

Leggodt, look at the box. it also has badly applied stickers, and some old grey pieces and some new ones. It also looks like it has stains on the picture, but that could be from cutting this model out of its surroundings and pasting it on a star wars cover.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 21:03

I know, I understand. But I just thought it looked interesting, and all this talk of new 2008 sets really got me motivated to tell ya'll.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 11 Dec 2007 21:16

Ya i dont like the shape of it

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 21:21

Ya, has anyone ever heard of a starspeeder 3000?

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 11 Dec 2007 21:49

i havent

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 21:54

Ya, me neither.

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 11 Dec 2007 22:28

It's one of the "Tour Shuttles" from the Star Tours motion ride at the Disney MGM parks. In-universe the Star Tours Travel Agency uses them to scoot tourists around sites of galactic interest.

The one on Brickself is just a slick custom, as well the "UCS Grevious Starfighter"

So...news commenting is a discussion board now? :P

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 22:33

Well, that would explain its weird shape, but what's up with the artoo minifig?

Posted by Deinonychus in United States, 11 Dec 2007 22:38

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmbGFi016Ac

Here's the ride video. As part of the ride story, R2-D2 is the astromech assigned to help pilot the shuttle along with the ever-excitable RX pilot droid.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Dec 2007 23:13

Uh huh, I see. Interesting video by the way.

Posted by Denver_80203 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 01:51

8296 is out

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 12 Dec 2007 10:22

What is 8296

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 16:39

It's the technic Dune Buggy, I believe. And it can't be 'cause it still has that "(not yet released)" thing next to it.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 17:22

okay..i just got back and saw that some people were asking me aboout the imperial impersonation not being a ucs. well the sand crawler was a ucs and had minifigs. who knows if this one is one or not. we dont have pictures of it.

Posted by Manxboi24 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 17:43

Does anyone know when the sw sets will be up on LEGO? They've taken off a lot of the older sets so they could soon be appearing.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 17:51

Actually, the way sets are put into the UCS category is if either the set is a NEW and highly detailed version of a previous set, or the set is very expensive like over $100. The UCS sandcrawler set was the first and only sandcrawler so for and there is no news of a new one and it was retailed for over $100 so it didn't matter if it came with characters it still qualified for a UCS set.

Now the UCS Millenium Falcon is the exception to those qualifications since it is LEGO's biggest set ever.

Posted by Denver_80203 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 18:12

I bought it last night from the Lego store in Denver so yeah, it's out. I like it.. has feeling of a 8832 sans studs.

Also picked up 7670 (Hailfire Droid & Spider Droid) It has a wonderful collection or parts for such a small set. Brown chains, two large transparent 'radar dishes' and a new part I have never seen before. It's a post with a reversed half peg. If that makes any sense to you congratulations but, imagine one of those light-saber posts (used for other things but....) then attach a half technic pin to one end of it. Now spin the pin around the opposite direction of what you would expect and thats it. Anyway I really suggest that set!

"It's the technic Dune Buggy, I believe. And it can't be 'cause it still has that "(not yet released)" thing next to it."

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 12 Dec 2007 19:15

What stores are you guys getting these star wars sets from?

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 19:19

the lego store

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 12 Dec 2007 19:58

oh the closest one to me that i no of is in san diego around 7 hours away. I will have to wait for eather toys R' us, target or the enternet.

Posted by LegoMan384 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 20:30

That's weird why would they sell sets at the lego stores that are not yet on Lego.com

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 22:19

Maybe lego.com is just bein' slow. :)

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 12 Dec 2007 22:52

they havent really updated anything on there website.(starwars website)

Posted by Imperial13 in United States, 13 Dec 2007 00:17

Impulse is out!!! So is the mobile police station! the impulses are 3.50 EACH. RIP OFF!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 13 Dec 2007 16:05

Wait, didn't they just come out? If they've been out a long time then ya they are overpriced.

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 13 Dec 2007 17:59

The Impulse sets bother me as well. The Advent Calendar is an OK way to build your minifig population. It usually comes with 7-8 minifigs and accessories as well as small, quick build items like those pictured with the impulse sets. At 25 dollars the Advent Calendar is a much better buy than the impulse sets. Watch for the Advent Calendars to be discounted at book stores once calendars are marked down after Christmas. Those of us that shop at stores like Borders and Barnes and Noble might even have coupons via email that can be used on a single item and buy the Advent Calendar. When I first read the news about the Impulse sets I was excited because I didn't know what these products would look like or be but now that the cat is out of the bag I am disappointed. They are cute entry level products but like David1985 has stated, you are better off buying small true LEGO sets such as the Final Joust which nets you two minifigs and 2 horses, 4 times the figs for just over half the price.

Today I spotted the new police seaplane, police truck and police station in Toysrus here in the UK

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 13 Dec 2007 18:20

Ya, but there is something I never quite understood, why is it people in the USA get the new sets before people in the UK? I mean, the LEGO World Headquarters is in Billund, Denmark which the UK is closer to than the U.S. I mean it is all common geography, right? ):|

Posted by jackishigh! in United States, 14 Dec 2007 01:19

Phantoka is at Shop@Home now!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 14 Dec 2007 14:48

Ya, and all the exo-force sets are there too; however, I don't know what's goin' on with the new creator sets. I haven't seen them anywhere. (:|

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 14 Dec 2007 23:28

And after all of this still no star wars:(

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 14 Dec 2007 23:37

Ya, what is up with star wars? We are about almost ready to enter the week right before Christmas and still no star wars. Usually lego.com is updated every tuesday, so lego has one more tuesday before Christmas so they need to really hurry up with star wars }:|

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 17 Dec 2007 11:27

I agree with ya- im seriously !DYING! to get a few 08 starwars sets-especially anakins fighter- and i live in the slow and steady Uk so i have to wait-but im ordering 08 sets from shopathome the first day of january which is new year
PLEASE LEGO DO SW SETS AT shop at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 18 Dec 2007 16:31

Well, guess what, THERE HERE!!!! The TRU website now has some of the new '08 StarWars sets if you didn't know. The sets that they have are the Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, AT-AP Walker, and Rogue Shadow. But for some reason the Anakin's starfigter is temporalaly not available online. And the site says that thay can ship your product by Christmas Eve, but I don't know if that applies to the new '08 sets. It might. :)

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 18 Dec 2007 17:21

I expect that huge postal truck will be the same price as the police truck!
Hey, maybe the postal theme is gonna be pretty good (but I'm not getting it)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 18 Dec 2007 17:30

And also the TRU website has some of the new IJ sets like Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb and the Mototcycle Chase sets.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 18 Dec 2007 18:40

How much are those IJ sets anyways

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 18 Dec 2007 19:12

Well, you know that you can just go to the website and find out more, but they are $21 and $11.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 18 Dec 2007 21:27

thanx a ton leggodt for that info i just went to the site and bought the rogue shadow and the at-ap walker with tax and shipping $104. i have $180 so im good.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 18 Dec 2007 23:01

What website is this anyway? Can i have the link.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 00:07

It is on the TRU website. Just click "LEGO" from the shop by brand on the home page. Once you get to the page, click on where it says "NEW 2008 SETS SNEAK PEAK." You should find a list of the sets.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 19 Dec 2007 05:18

Still No other Lego Star Wars Sets in UK, except the Rogue Shadow, but that looks like a heap of junk!

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 19 Dec 2007 10:05

No i mean what is the TRU website link. i google TRU and nothing came up

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 12:04

Well, I can't give you an exact link 'cause those types of websites have really LONG links. Just go to www.toysrus.com and follow the directions I gave earlier. I could give you an exact link, but it would be a hassle for me to post and you to type in.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 14:14

i just checked but their not there anymore.:(

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 14:59

What are you talkin' about? Yes they are still there. Look I can't quite conmprehend why it is difficult for some people to find these sets. All you have to do is go to the lego portion of the TRU site and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find them from there? Sorry, for the inconvenience. :|

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 15:05

WOW! Sith Assassin, I am impressed! :) There was no way I would have been able to get that link. And I am very glad that you did. Maybe now people will FINALLY be able to find those sets. Thank-you so very much, sith assassin! :)

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 19 Dec 2007 15:53

thanx.... but all i did was copy paste.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 19:59

Well, ya I've seen the paste, and I got to tell you, IT'S RIDICULOUSLY LONG!!!! I mean, I can't even copy it down, 'cause it's so long.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 19 Dec 2007 20:00

Bottom line, thanks. :)

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 19 Dec 2007 21:47

this might mean that 7667 and 7668 are out. and maybe the clone wars sets are comming because of the body gaurd head.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 21 Dec 2007 11:26

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 21 Dec 2007 13:51

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 21 Dec 2007 19:22

Hey, did you know that lego added a new star wars category? It's entitled "Clone Wars."

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 21 Dec 2007 19:31

And did anyone know that LEGO was coming out with new star wars watches? Well, they did.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 22 Dec 2007 00:04

all starwars sets are OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 22 Dec 2007 00:23

man i was to late.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 22 Dec 2007 15:25

Ya, they REALLY need to fix that. They should do the "Prequel" and "Classic", just like you said david. And have an "Expanded Universe" subtheme with the two other subthemes as well.

Posted by littlelegoluke in United States, 22 Dec 2007 21:20

Yes i agree with Leggodt.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 22 Dec 2007 21:29

if you want to see the AT-AP closer up go here http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=291092

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 23 Dec 2007 00:50

Well, david, what about sets that take place between episode three and episode four like the Rogue Shadow. That EU time period isn't part of either trilogy.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 23 Dec 2007 14:45

yeah we already know look at the other comments

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 23 Dec 2007 17:14

here are some good pics of the AT-AP http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=7671&stype=fi

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2007 04:02

Those sets Fighter95 told us about look like overpriced clone wars sets based on really unlikely and poorly designed stories, which would be nice if there was only a few of them but not nice when there are EIGHT! I want a an endor shield bunker WITH EWOKS!

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2007 10:18

The Tie Defender Fighter95 is talking about is like a 'Tie' version of the Droid Tri Fighter from episode 3.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 24 Dec 2007 10:24

My bet is that the AT-TE and Republic Gunship will cost about £80 or £90 each, which wouldn't be surprising!!!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 24 Dec 2007 18:17

The new AT-TE is motorized!!!

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 24 Dec 2007 18:18

cool

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 24 Dec 2007 18:56

where did you get that imformation

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 24 Dec 2007 19:07

Ya, legolover94, have you seen its box or is that just a rumor?

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 25 Dec 2007 07:32

Imperial Impersonation... hmmm... that sounds like an imperial bunker... with an ATST... no, they dont impersonate imperials in episode6, but in episode 4! Where did this rumour come from anyway?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 25 Dec 2007 10:27

Um, yes they did impersonate imperials, 'cause remember they had to get into endor and the empire was not gonna let rebels in so han and the others had to pretend or in other words impersonate as imperials. And the set is just an imperial shuttle with some endor minifigs. Nothing else! And I found this set several months ago on wikipedia's list og lego star wars sets.

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 25 Dec 2007 12:45

Oooooohhhhhhhhhhh, i was thinking of the part when they were actually on endor. Although, the idea of the ship did come to me, as i said in another post on another topic.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 25 Dec 2007 15:38

The manager at the place where i get my lego told me all the new star wars sets and also told me that hes 99% sure that its motorized.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 25 Dec 2007 21:35

Next Year lego is bringing out sets of doors and roof tiles like the old sets so you can make custom houses!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 01:32

Im pretty sure they weren't selling them this year. Well at least they weren't in New Zealand

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 26 Dec 2007 12:32

ok you know how i found those ebay pics. well look what the seller legowarehouse is selling http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Ep-3-Blue-Clone-Trooper_W0QQitemZ200186698899QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1186QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem i think those are printes.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 15:37

Lego S@H is selling the Indiana Jones sets! But its on backorder till 2nd jan. And its for the USA only. :(

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 15:41

Also, the Town Plan is Available at the USA S@H!!!!!!!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 16:31

I just went there and it is. But you have to look under the USA shop.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 21:29

Are you looking under the USA shop?? Because its only on the USA one. Go to the Exclusive sets and it will be there.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 26 Dec 2007 21:32

Here is the link..

http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=10184&cn=245&d=100

You should find it now.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2007 15:34

Any details of these sets, Fighter95? Are they on the Lego Shop (as if! The UK shop has NOTHING for 2008 still, and it's only a few days until the New Year!!!@#?@!!)

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 28 Dec 2007 16:00

Im pretty sure they are bringing out the complete Death Star!

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2007 16:06

I reckon that'll be rubbish legolover94, because the playset of the Star Destroyer was too small, but there's a conundrum becuase if it was made any bigger it would be amazingly expensive! Probably same with the Death Star!
(Does anyone understand what I mean)

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 28 Dec 2007 16:16

Yes i think it will be amazingly expensive but there is a list of big sets coming out and hear they are:

10184 Town Plan
10185 Green Grocer
10186 General Grievous
10187 Volkswagen Beetle
10188 SW Death Star
10189 Taj Mahal

if it is made complete then it will probably be the same size as the UCS Death Star. But they would probably make it a full circle.

Do you get what i mean?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 28 Dec 2007 17:52

I'm sure LEGO will think of some way to make it complete and lower the expenses. I have faith in them. :)

I've been waiting for a complete and inexpensive death star for a long time. ;)

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 28 Dec 2007 23:47

yes. Thats what i think. it might be pricey tho.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 29 Dec 2007 00:42

I think that the set will be similar to the 6211 set: big and in the "Classic" subtheme.

Posted by Exo-ForceFan in N/A, 29 Dec 2007 14:24

Does anyone have the picture of Lego #7676? Just curious. I should check out the Toys R us 2008 Sneak Peak.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 29 Dec 2007 15:49

Na. Don't think LEGO has released the pic. The set is not coming out till august, september.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 29 Dec 2007 17:19

What's item #7676?

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 29 Dec 2007 17:34

The Republic Gunship.

Posted by deluckybrick in United States, 29 Dec 2007 18:12

I found it. check out http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=292303

It has some pics which look official.

Posted by deluckybrick in United States, 29 Dec 2007 18:15

Sorry to post two in a row, but on a second look, the 7673 is not a fighter for a MagnaGuard, but for a Utapaun P-38 fighter.
The blacked out minifigs also look odd.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 30 Dec 2007 08:42

Can't you carry on your conversation about the new SW sets in another thread, which is already talking about them?

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 30 Dec 2007 13:37

Good point redfox :\ But soon this topic will be reduced to the archive. And, Fighter95 I expect these sets will be like the real ones when they come out, only probably with slight changes (remember the Indy sets)

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 30 Dec 2007 16:12

If you look at the top of the first pic it says preliminary.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 30 Dec 2007 19:11

Nice picks, deluckybrick. I think that the V-19 Torrent looks the bset so far.

P.S. I think I have seen a a ship that looks SIMILAR to the V-19 Torrent in a star wars videogame in which takes place BEFORE the Clone Wars.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 31 Dec 2007 08:00

UK 2008 SETS AT SHOP @ HOME!!! WOOOOOOO!!! AAA LELU JAH! :)

it's new year's eve and 2008 sets well be in the shop.this set well be my mine

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 01 Jan 2008 10:14

Which set Hal?

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 01 Jan 2008 23:19

to answer fighter95's question. i am starting to think that the at-te is sort of fake. what im trying to say is that we all know that there is no blue stap. and that the picture of the at-te is just fliped. and those episode 2 clones in it,they were only in the battle of geanosias(sorry if i spelt it wrong)battle and the clone wars cartoon. and in the picture it looks like there in the wookie planet or felucia. which were in episode three.

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 01 Jan 2008 23:23

oh and sorry for double posting but why were there no picture of the clones. there were just black blobs of stormies with names under them. um do clones now have names because ever since the clone troopers came out theve just been calling them clone/storm troopers.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 10:17

All clones have names, bigs123, but there sorta weird, like most names in star wars. Examples COULD be Omikron, Bly, Manoa(sorry if I spelled it wrong), Cody*, and Gree. There are even clones that have numbers in there name like Alpha 121, Gamma 608, and Omega 417. I've even made up some clone names like Larx and Atch for example.

And I'm pretty sure that the clone type that the Kaminoans worked on for 10 years were in more than just one battle! And how do you know that Felucia was only in episode 3? The clones could have been there from the beginning of the clone wars for all we know!

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 10:22

my bad

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 10:25

It's okay, bigz. Sorry I had to get tough on you, but........you know. :)

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 13:28

yeah. i looked at the at-te and found out that it wasnt fliped.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 02 Jan 2008 13:35

there is all this talk about the AT-TE made me look more closely. did you guys notice that there is a missle fireing out of the left side?

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 02 Jan 2008 20:11

the gunship looks almost the same. the front guns are way too long. the the **** is that on the side of it? is that jabbas little pet thing. i like it. the side gunpods fold up, weird.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 02 Jan 2008 20:16

under the black (blobs) it says... 2 clone troopers (what only 2?) obi wan (again) asajj ventress (cool), and plo koon (finally more alien jedi!)

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 02 Jan 2008 20:16

under the black (blobs) it says... 2 clone troopers (what only 2?) obi wan (again) asajj ventress (cool), and plo koon (finally more alien jedi!)

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 22:40

plo koon! i was begging for lego to make a plo koon figure! SWEET!!!!!!!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 23:08

YIKES!!! THAT GUNSHIP'S HIDEOUS!!! I sure hope it's a fake!!

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 23:12

And sith assassin, I hope I'm being rude but just to help your understanding Jabba's pet thing is a Kowakian monkey lizard who's name is Salasious Crumb. Just thought you might like to know that little fact. ;)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 23:15

I'm sorry, in my previous comment it is supposed to read at the beginning "I hope I'm NOT being rude." Sorry for that mistake. :)

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 02 Jan 2008 23:16

thanx for the info. am i the only one who likes it exept for the kowakian monkey lizard and the big guns.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 02 Jan 2008 23:19

Possibly, sith assassin. ;)

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 03 Jan 2008 10:29

It looks... um... actually, quite good! Except for the graffiti on the side, and the fact lego made it bigger than it should be to make an excuse for an overpriced set. It will be a big buy, since it is $100, i think that will be about £80(or £100, why is lego cheaper in america?), but if i saved up...

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 12:57

i agree it does look good

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 03 Jan 2008 15:52

Yes it does look good and i am going to get because i missed out on the first one.

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 03 Jan 2008 16:44

im not. again i like it exept the monkey lizard the big guns and you brought up a good point the tiny wings. you should be happy with the new rare minifigs, and a new gunship. i dont mean to be rude but be thankful, its a rep gunship.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 17:01

Well, sith assassin, I guess your right. But I have to agree with fighter; it really doesn't look as good as it should. I mean, that Kowakian monkey lizard on the side of it looks like road-kill. And I also agree that the lego company can do better than this. It's like what Ole Kirk Christiansen used to say, "Only the best is good enough." :)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 17:44

...........?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 17:50

To dwarf vader, LEGO probably hasn't made that Naboo Royal Starship set because it is mainly composed of silver parts, which are rare-colored pieces. And the sleek design would be hard for the lego company to duplicate, but hey, it is always a possibility. ;)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 18:19

Ya, but your point is good too.:)

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 18:28

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 18:46

Wait, bigz, if you know this person, then please begg her(get down on your knees) and begg her to convince the lego company to change that gunship. PLLLLEEEEEEASE!

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 18:49

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 18:56

Posted by bigz123 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 19:13

im sorry Legodt. but i dont think there gonna

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 03 Jan 2008 20:56

This stinks, and so does wikipedia. :(

Posted by sith assassin in United States, 03 Jan 2008 21:50

they said there will be 8 clone wars sets right? rep gunship, V-19 torrent, AT-TE, TX-130 tank fighter, homing spider droid, thats 5. not sure if magnaguard starfighter is clone wars. tie defender isn't clone wars so it is probably droid gunship(heavy missle platform)thats 7. either the twilight is different or the magnaguard fighter is clone wars. does anyone agree?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 04 Jan 2008 00:13

Um, dwarf vader, there are said to be eight clone wars sets that come out in the SUMMER of 2008. Those two sets have already come out and it's still not summer '08 yet. ;)

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 04 Jan 2008 00:35

Ummm, lego star wars goes by american and european seasons, so we still all have to wait mister new zealand.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 00:45

Dwarf Vader. I live in NZ to. Have you seen any 2008 sets in shops yet? There meant to be here in feb march.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 02:38

Yes i have a trademe username it is brentyb.

Yea i saw those sets today on trademe and started calling up all the toy shops. But they dont have them in till feb march.

Have you seen any in shops?

I don't buy to much of trademe because they sell everything quite expensive. I just wait till there in the shops because i get discounts at toyworld.

And do you have a trademe account?

Yea maybe. My toyworld keeps on changing there dates cos last week i called them and they said it was coming in this week and now there saying it coming in next month!!!! Anyway Is your toyworld getting in the UCS Falcon, because the Wellington toyworld is at the end of the year. I've already got it tho but they only getting in two or three. I know quite a few sets that are coming in and when there coming in. (Like the motorized AT-AT is coming in around august.) So if you want to know when they come in you can ask me. but i only know the Wellington toywords stock.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 03:15

They are selling it for $999.99 so you dont have to pay $120 shipping.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 03:19

Na they don't have them. I want them but i will ask if they will get it in stock

Posted by SillyQuack in United States, 04 Jan 2008 11:41

999.99! that is insane price! Go to a TRU to get good sets, but pay the wrong price!

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 04 Jan 2008 15:21

U R right there Sillyquack!!!

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 04 Jan 2008 16:06

I meant I agreed with sillyquack about TRU sets being expensive and the wrong price, Dwarf Vader! It looks as if 999.99 NZ is the RRP of it :¬

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 04 Jan 2008 16:28

Ya, New Zealand prices are crazy high! I heard that this one guy bought a Tie Crawler for $100! That's insane!

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 17:52

I bought the tie crawler for NZ $100.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 04 Jan 2008 20:28

But thats retail price and it was the only shop that sold it

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 05 Jan 2008 01:47

Dwarf Vader. K Mart is getting in the Sail Barge. I don't know how much it is but i really want it.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 05 Jan 2008 03:49

Well they have a Toys R Us so they must have a bigger range.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 05 Jan 2008 04:52

Toyworld is getting in around 23 exclusive sets this year witch is good.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 Jan 2008 14:42

Okay, ya'll are really getting off topic here! >:(

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 Jan 2008 16:15

That sounds like the best idea I've heard in ages, dwarf vader! :)

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 05 Jan 2008 16:52

They are getting in the Town plan, the Falcon, AT-AT, Rogue Shadow and i they are getting in all the 2008 star wars LEGO. Thats all i can remember.

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 05 Jan 2008 18:34

Yea it's a pretty cool set tho. Have you got enough money for the new sets dwarf vader?

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 Jan 2008 20:20

LOOK, this isn't the "what's the best purchase for a set in New Zealand and Ausralia" chat room, so please, find something else to talk about that is more related to the actual topic! Sorry if I'm sounding rude, but I'm really tired of this thread. >:(

Posted by mandalore, 05 Jan 2008 21:11

i was curious so i checked out the clone wars trailer, and it looks like there are blue STAPs in it. if you look closely at the part where anakin is jumping from each one you can see a blue tint to the STAPs. that must mean that these are real sets because doubt any one would pay such close attention to the trailer as to make blue STAPs. But the gunships don't have that monkey thing on the side which makes that kind of strange.??

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 05 Jan 2008 21:23

So, the blue stap is included with the at-te; they are not just some pointless box extra?

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 06 Jan 2008 08:32

I dont want to get out of topic, but wouldn't having a topic with no topic at all turn brickset into a free chat un moderated website? Thats not what brickset is for!

Posted by mandalore, 06 Jan 2008 12:53

Hey, i found a better pic of the at-te. You can read the names now. Although i don't recognize the last 2.

I hope when the real set comes out for the AT-TE there are more than just 2 Episode 2 Clonies. Perhaps there is much more in the Republic Gunship! It looks like 'Asoka' is actually A'sh'oka. That's odd.

Can I also invite bricksetters to dicuss new 2008 Summer set preliminary pics posted on Eurobricks on this thread. I think the new Mars Mission sets are the best space sets Lego has ever made. BUT the new pics of Lego racers look really rubbish!!!

Here is a thing about salacious crumb, that monkey on the side of the http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Salacious_B._Crumb

Ooops, something went wrong inthe typing.
Here is a thing about salacious crumb, that monkey on the side of the republic gunship. It doesent say anything about him being in the clone wars. Unravel this mystery if you can.

Posted by Leggodt94 in United States, 11 Jan 2008 00:06

I really think that the 7678 Tie Defender set is actually the Droid Gunship 'cause a Tie thing doesn't have anything to do with the clone wars and these are clone wars sets. Plus, I think I know what the mistery 7677 set is. It could possibly be that Sharp Spiral set.[a set that comes Saesee Tinn's orange jedi starfighter(possibly with booster ring) and it includes a saesee tinn minifig and maybe a rare jedi minifig as well]

And the more a look at it, as a clearer picture, the new gunship doesn't look so bad. I mean, it's longer which makes for more passenger room, a problem I have with the first one; the front guns are longer which I can tell is gona be a problem, but the front guns on the gunship in the real movie are pretty long; and for some strange reason that Salacious Crumb sticker gives the gunship some sort of flare which opens up huge possiblities 'cause if you don't like the Crumb sticker you can just not put it on and using a marker you can just draw your own design then when you get tired of that design you can just cover it up with the Crumb sticker. It only makes for a better gunship, which I can't wait for it to come out this summer. :)
