Title says it all; it looks as if they have the summer releases reduced too, including Lone Ranger, LotR, etc.
Thanks to nicolasaguilar for the news.
Wow, the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van sold out fast. Lucky I got one.
July is traditionally when the big toy sales happen throughout Australia and New Zealand with most of the larger retailers now being involved. These sales also coincide with the July school holidays.
Myer are a major price hiker. The discount only ever really brings it down to main Oz selling prices that other stores sell for. You can get the occasional bargain but for deeper Oz discounts you never shop at Myer : )shopforme.com.au is our deepeset discounted LEGO store.
flyguy's comment is false. The only time they have ever marked up above rrp is with last year's superhero sets.
You could get the LOTC Pirate Ship and LR Train for less than US retail in their most recent sale - seems like a fairly genuine discount and not price gouging to me.
hewman's absolutely right. In fact, most of my Lego comes from Myers as they're the only store that has buy 2 get 1 free deals throughout the year. If you're willing to wait, it's the best place to shop, last years superhero sets notwithstanding.
Our local Myer in Townsville has Lego at RRP normally, so this is a good saving. Also last weekend got an extra 10% off coupon in a MyerOne email. Bought most of the Lone Ranger sets at better prices than the other toy sales. Good to see Myer also stocking the VW Camper, Mini Modulars, Horizon Express and Sopwith Camel.
True, Myer usually follows the same prices (RRP) as Lego.com. However flyguy's comment about shopforme is also correct, they are typically cheaper (but not always). For examples Myer's recent sale where you got an additional 10% off the advertised prices made many sets cheaper than Shopforme's offering.
Shopforme's prices look pretty good, but you have to pay shipping and deal with the waiting time if you aren't nearby. You always have to factor that in.Myer has the Sopwith Camel for $99 at the moment, for example. I can walk in to any of their shops and buy it today. If you have a Myer One card you can get another 10% off, so that makes it even more attractive.
I can say that when they have exclusives I am very happy.I did get 2 Horizon Express 10233 Trains for $124aus
Absolutely, Myer can usually be a little bit more expensive than the other department stores (like K-Mart or Big W).However, Myer has really great sales, throughout the year (and if you have a Myer One card, you save another ten per cent). Seriously, I picked up the Lone Ranger train for under a hundred. That's a saving of about forty bucks, which is substantial.
I thought the sale ended today?I went in last week but my wallet couldnt handle savings of that magnitude.ShopForMe is good for bulk buys, now doing free postage over $150 so good for picking up a couple of sets.LEGO.com have also finally gotten around to free postage in Australia, which means buying some things is now actually affordable (really the $80 shipping was stupid).
Really? out of all the Sales Myer is the only one that gets mentioned? what about Big W or Target? if you want a run down on all the sales going on try here... http://ozbricknation.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/australian-lego-sales-round-up.html
I've only ever seen #50011 Battle of Helm's Deep at Target, so that's where I'm headed tomorrow. Aside from that, I've only seen #60062 Town Square at Big W and #60009 Helicopter Arrest at Toys R Us, the latter being particularly frustrating, knowing how stingy TRU with regarding LEGO sales...
also guys check the toys r us catalogue. anything in that catalogue they price match and beat by 10%. So using this or any other sales will get you a further discount at TrU (as long as its in their catalogue)
And to get even further discounts on top of the myers sales and the extra 10% they have been offering if you are a RAC member go and buy a few Myer vouchers from RAC and you get these at 5% Discount...so when you factor that in the discount is really quite good.RAC also have vouchers for Big W, so you can get a further 5% on top of the big sales Big W have at the moment.
I got 42000 (Grand Prix Racer) for $119 and 10220 (Volkswagen T1 Camper Van) for $124 delivered.Pretty much on par with US prices before shipping.Still heaps of stock around the place.Myer Brisbane has a whole table of Sopwith and Horizon Express trains.Myer Indooroopilly had two GP Racers.Myer Melbourne has 8 Volkswagen T1 Camper Vans left. edit: well they had 8 this morning. None left in Australia that Myer know about.Anything over $100 is free shipping Australia wide.Sale is on till the 28th of July or until sold out.
Picked up Mini-Modulars for 79$ and a bunch of Friends for my 3-yo the other day.
