The Harry Potter teaser microsite is up at LEGO.com! There's not much there yet except for 30 boxes: one showing Harry and the other 29 blank. I imagine one will be revealed every day for the next month, when perhaps the proper site is launched.

Thanks to louie, chazz and refriedbeans for alerting us to this!

i just hope this harry potter last for more than 1 year

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 14:54

It's pretty good for a microsite. Better then the Indy one.

Posted by nadnerb112 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 14:56

The next person is obviously Hagrid.. Are the wands the new short stick? I hope so..

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2010 15:03

The site looks like it's going to be pretty cool. The 5th row down looks like micro figures from the LEGO games.

Posted by southpaw in United States, 23 Jun 2010 15:27

The new dementors are going to be so friggin cool!!!

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 23 Jun 2010 15:51

does that mean a total of 30 new sets?

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2010 15:55

Does anyone know when the website will be offically launched? It may be at the end of month, like Huw said.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 16:00

The new sets have lost a lot of their charm. Well maybe that's because when I bought the originals I was still pretty young... but somehow I also have the feeling that the pieces aren't nearly as 'unique'! Lego now likes to use those poopy old stickers for everything!

I can't even see the micro site on their website...?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 23 Jun 2010 16:00

Not 30 new sets but it could be close to 30 new minifigs, although that sounds a bit high.

Posted by cjg in United States, 23 Jun 2010 16:11

25 of the "boxes" are for different minifigs. The other five of them are for microfigs.

Posted by collectormom in United States, 23 Jun 2010 16:15

My boys can't wait for the Lego HP video game to come out. Everyday they ask me if today is the day we can get it. I think the Hogwart's Challenge game looks cute too; who wouldn't want a microfig Harry?

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 16:26

this looks like one of the best micro sites i have ever seen
big time fan of harry potter and already pre ordered the collector's edition of lego harry potter

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 23 Jun 2010 17:58

whats the big deal? ITS BOXES WITH MINIFIGS. whats so great about that? then again im no fan of HP, and im not pirticulary fond of kids playing,''whitchcraft related" stuff.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 19:12

Whats a microset? Is that just the figure?

Posted by cjg in United States, 23 Jun 2010 19:48

Carnigee77: A microfig is a smaller minifig that comes with Lego Games.
Here is a pic of the Harry Potter ones: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=3862-1

@itsaturkey and bricks-and-bits:
The HP line has a lot of fans and has been one of LEGO's most solid lines. Though I am not a Harry Potter fan and don't plan on getting any of the sets, I do appreciate that there are people whose tastes are different than mine and who will enjoy these new sets. It is childish to post that the HP sets "suck" or are "stupid". Let those who want to look forward to the new sets do so without degrading comments.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 23 Jun 2010 20:17

crzypainter- i cincerly apoligize if i offended anyone. i was not intending to cause offense i was simply trying to stat that i didn't understand why people were saying this is the best micro site ever, as there si nothing on the site but boxes with minifigs. i did not mean to,''burst any bubbles".
p.s. well i am a kid, so it would make sense if i didn't say somthing,''childish" which i didn't.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 23 Jun 2010 21:14

if you are refering to me itsaturkey, i just mean that it is a creative way to introduce the line. and if you think about it a guy in a bat suit or a guy who shoots webs is more childish then a guy from a best selling author.....

Posted by Dlakii in Australia, 23 Jun 2010 21:49

Don't get me wrong, I'm as eager about the new Harry Potter sets as the next guy, but I'm not sure I'm seeing the appeal of this microsite. Maybe if they were instead revealing LEGO versions of notable scenes from the books/films, that'd be simply glorious and an excellent way to preview the line, but as it is... nope, not seeing it.

On another note, I really don't like how they're giving the Hogwarts uniforms black legs this time around; the grey of the Prisoner of Azkaban sets was a superior approach. I'd be okay with, say, grey legs on a black waistband though. Hagrid's new torso print, on the other hand, looks excellent.

Posted by drewtheskater in United States, 23 Jun 2010 21:50

They just posted another one-Hagrid. Can't wait to see them all, though it's not hard to guess which figure they'll show because of the outlines.

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 23 Jun 2010 23:48

I've seen posts about microsites before, but never bothered checking them out -- even for themes I'm interested in. I did this time.

When the first round of Harry Potter sets came out I was mixed up in a Christian religion that frowned upon Harry Potter. I somehow convinced myself that it would be okay to buy a set as long as I didn't put it together.

Even after leaving those religious ideas behind I still had no interest in reading the books. My only link to HP was through that one Lego set. Or at least the parts to that one Lego set.

But without any strong reason not to read the books and with a copy of the first one laying around the house (my wife checked it out of the Library) I finally gave it a shot. It was great.

And right away I was kicking myself for not buying the sets. The revival of HP Lego is great. I'm going to buy every set the first chance I get.

Posted by Bodyguards17 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 00:12

By the way if this confused anybody the numbers on the bottom of the figures are what set they are in

Posted by Tommyo3000 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 00:21

Wait does this mean that the sets are going to be coming out in about a month? I'm pretty sure they're coming out this October but I'm just wondering.

Posted by Bodyguards17 in United States, 24 Jun 2010 00:28

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 24 Jun 2010 00:30

OK guys, calm down. Expressing on-topic opinions is fine, in a calm & mature way. But when you start calling other people names & making it personal, we have to step in & start deleting posts.

So, if you feel a very strong need to respond to someone else, take a deep breath & go for a walk before hitting 'return'.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 24 Jun 2010 09:19

With the WWoHP theme park in June... The LEGO HP games June/July... The LEGO HP sets this Fall (hopefully earlier)... and the HP&DH PT1 movie this Nov/winter... what another great year for HP. Let's hope JK is still planning on that 8th HP encyclopedia.

Well, if you add up all of the mini-fig characters, 'old' (with new outfits/designs) and new, plus the micro-figs, there's 30+ for the countdown calendar; plenty. It's not too shocking the character design of the pictures is in the same look/feel as the LEGO HP games by TT since they're the company that inspired LEGO to come back out with NEW HP LEGO sets... all of the new designs (Aragog, Ford Anglia, et cetera can all be found in the new LEGO game).

I'm hoping the LEGO game and sets sell well so we get more. I will be buying all of them in one go! Cannot wait to build'em and play the DS (this one even has Peeves as an exclusive playable character!) and PS3 LEGO games. I think all of the sets have been sensational, old and new and still hold the same charm.

Kudos to UKVer2.0 for reading the book! I hope that set was finally opened... that's some will power. =D

That new death eater looks great! Can't wait to get it.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 26 Jun 2010 04:28

I can see the dementor now. It's below Hagrid so perhaps they're not going to do them in order.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 26 Jun 2010 10:32

OOH dementor looks better then the last one (apart from the STAP base?)

Posted by jacksonb526 in United States, 26 Jun 2010 17:11

First Harry, Then Hagrid, Then Dementor, Then WHO?

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 26 Jun 2010 22:03
