On your mark, get set, go! I am going to be so broke this summer...(sigh...)

Posted by roar15 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 12:46

Anyone know if the "board" games are included in the sale?

Posted by superbrick in United States, 27 Jun 2010 13:34

I hope the train sets are in Toys R Us. Hopefully I will be able to get the cargo train
@roar15, They probably will be since they are made by lego.

Bad news in Orlando, FL. Went to the local TRU here to pick up some Kingdom sets and they don't have any Lego sets on sale. Anyone know if this sale just hasn't started yet or if it is specific to a region? I asked the employees but they haven't heard of lego going on sale, just Playmobil. They even tried ringing up 2 sets to see if the computer would auto total them on sale but it didn't. Heres to hoping the sale just hasn't started yet!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Jun 2010 15:09

@roar15 - I forgot to check the games. Doh.

@superbrick - I just got back from my TRU and unfortunately no trains. But stores could possibly put out some new sets with this week's deliveries, though I doubt it.

@Magnus77 - The discount is calculated at checkout. You can also doublecheck for promotions by scanning your set on the scanners located around the store. They will either indicate Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off or LEGO PROMO on the screen. The only applicable set that didn't yield a message on the scanner for me was the Farm as it was currently on clearance.

That being said, TRU is also running a Clearance Event where you get an extra 25% off Clearance items. The only Clearance LEGO I found, though, was the Farm which they had 1. So I got the Farm for $52 and then was able to use it to get the Kingdom's Prison Tower Rescue for $24.99. This is an incredible deal for anyone else able to find a Farm still at TRU! Additionally, I purchased 2 X-Large Grey Baseplates that also reflected the discount. I couldn't decide, however, on what to pair with the Kingdom's Castle so I put it off until later in the week. My choices were the Garage, Police Station, New Airport, Portal of Atlantis, another Kingdom's Castle, or Temple of Doom. Anyone have a recommendation? I already have a Police Station but the piece type and count are great. I already have the last 2 Airports and I'm not sure the new one presents anything different. Lastly, I've always been on the fence regarding the Garage and Temple of Doom and don't regularly collect Atlantis.

*gasp* Does-Does This Include Collectible Minifigures? Considering There 25% Overpriced Now (Atleast at Mine). It Would Be Really Good to Get Them at Normal Price......or To Even Get them at all! :D

@yellowcastle: I'd Go with The Temple of Doom, If I Had That Much Money. :P IT Seems Like a Really Good Set. If Not, I'd Say The Garage. Look's Like Fun! :D That's also a Great Deal you got for the farm and Kingdom set!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Jun 2010 15:27

@Crt2 - Well I would imagine that it does but unfortunately I haven't see the minifigs at my TRU's for a couple of weeks. Borders totally bailed me out. :o)

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 15:28

@yellowcastle: I Know, I Just Meant if You saw them There.
EDIT:I Decided That If I Go, I'll Either get 8189 and 8188 or 8189 and Another $20 set.

When does the sale end?

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 16:21

Is this sale totally legit? It doesn't mention the store-only sale online...

Posted by Magnus77 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 16:22

@yellowcastle: went back to try again and you were right. Even though when i was at the store earlier and had them ring up 2 sets to verify, i guess they didn't total out the sale. This time i made sure they totaled the sale out and sure enough got the kings castle and old troll fortress buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. Thanks for the info as no employee at 2 different stores here knew anything about the sale.

Posted by superbrick in United States, 27 Jun 2010 16:41

Does anyone know if the Toys r us truck is in the stores yet?

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 16:42

@superbrick: I Don't Think so.......

Thanks! I went down to TRU and asked... Even the employees didn't know about it, but it was happening. Got a bunch of sets.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 27 Jun 2010 20:22

If I buy the tiny Jester set, does that mean I could get the big King's Castle set at half price, or is it that the more expensive one is full price and the cheaper one, half off?

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 27 Jun 2010 20:54

the sale is only for toy r us special members... you get a special rewards card with your info on it...

Posted by calvinwashere2 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 21:01

Jarod98: Yes, that's how it works...the cheaper item is 1/2 off so to maximize your savings make sure you get two of the same thing or one that's of comparable price.

Posted by superbrick in United States, 27 Jun 2010 21:03

@Jarod98 The more expensive one is full price and the smaller one is half price.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Jun 2010 21:48

@legowomen1980p - That email was for the TRU Rewards Member Shopping Day this past Thursday and was limited to Lego City sets. This sale began today, ends on Saturday, is open to everyone, and works for all Lego Themes except Star Wars.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 27 Jun 2010 23:19

*Sigh* It Looks Like I can't Go. But If I Did, I'd get Pirate Code & Some Thing Else. But If The HF or Even The HP Sets are There You Know What I'll Do! :D

Posted by Tom_2772 in United States, 28 Jun 2010 01:12

@Crt2, Thank ya :)

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 28 Jun 2010 09:07

okay, what would happen if i bought the a 5 $ set, then bought the death star (i know there are none at TRU) would that mean i get the DS for 200$, or the 5$ set for 2.50?
my mom says they always put the cheaper item as the 50% off.

Posted by superbrick in United States, 28 Jun 2010 10:45

@itsaturkey Yes, the cheaper is always 50% of and the more expensive is full price.
Also, it doesn't matter since this sale excludes Star Wars sets.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 28 Jun 2010 12:12

superbrick-darn, oh well, thanks for the info.
i bet TRU excluded SW cuz most of the most expensive sets are in that theme.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 28 Jun 2010 12:28

im going to go to TRU now, hoppfully i can get some good deals! i report if theres any new legos.

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 28 Jun 2010 12:41

The sign at the TRU said the sale excludes "Lego Games" and "Lego Video Games"

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 28 Jun 2010 13:40

Thanks calvinwashere2 and superbrick, now I understand what yellowcastle means by saying 'maximize the deal'. Thanks! :-)

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 28 Jun 2010 15:36

ok just got back from TRU, they ahd all the normal stuff so no HP,SW, HF. but i asked the clerk if they had any CM and he said no, but they will be getting a shippment on thursday, this TRU is in Exton PA.

Posted by Firehawk2448 in United States, 28 Jun 2010 18:00

Ha ha. The sets that have eluded me are already gone. Curse you 7726, 7738, and 7733! I just wish my TRU had the minifigures but somehow word get around real quick in my area.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 29 Jun 2010 11:10

Local TRU had 2 star wars sets(home one and v-19) on the 25% off clearance section, and some larger bionicle sets.

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 29 Jun 2010 19:40

I found the 8063 tractor set on clearance for $79.99, but the only box was banged up, so I didn't buy it.

The farm sets were gone, though.

Posted by Jayko543 in United States, 30 Jun 2010 14:13

@Yellowcastle - I can confirm that the discount applies to the minifigs! I got a full box (except for 5 that a 7 year old reeeeeeeally wanted) for less then $120!

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 30 Jun 2010 16:39

@Jayko543 - That's great news and props to you for sharing. :o)

Posted by 1265 in United States, 30 Jun 2010 16:55

Bought several larger sets yesterday and today........sets I didn't already own.

I'm "on the fence" about buying the Farm set. The Toysrus has four on the shelf and with it already on clearance, plus an additional 25% off, than factor in the Buy 1 and get 1 50% off, looks like a heck of a deal to pick up two of them. I already have two of the Farm sets.....but just need that nudge from someone to convince me that's a too good of a deal to pass up.

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 30 Jun 2010 17:59

@1265:Yeah, I Think it is for The Cows & The Actual Farm. So I Guess It is "One heck of a Deal"

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 30 Jun 2010 19:09

@1265 - I also already had 2 farms but I couldn't pass up on a half off half off deal, especially for the cows. Of course, I felt the same way about the pig farm for pigs and then they release a pig impulse set....and the same way about the snowies in the Han Solo set and then they release a snowies battlepack... :o)

Posted by f-man in United States, 30 Jun 2010 19:59

just got my sets, got 2 small cars, 2 sports cars, and two impulse sets (farmer and traveler) saved 10 bucks

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 01 Jul 2010 21:44

has anyone seen the tru truck in the store?

Posted by superbrick in United States, 01 Jul 2010 22:48

@ R4-G9 I think none of the new sets are in stores
Also, I asked that before

Posted by The Beast in United States, 02 Jul 2010 15:00

When does the sale end? I am going tomorrow but don't want to waste a trip if the sale has already ended

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 02 Jul 2010 17:30

@The Beast - the sale runs through Saturday (7/3/10)

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 03 Jul 2010 15:30

Was anyone lucky enough to get any new train sets during this sale? Some train sets appear on the TRU website, but neither store in my area have any in yet. I went today, hoping to buy a level train crossing plus a duplicate for my town, but found that the stores only had the new sets in other themes. I even had one of those TRU $5 certificates so it would have been great to get the pair for only $25. Shame there was nothing else to buy instead.
