    More details...

Brickjournal is the only printed magazine about LEGO for AFOLs in the world and until now has only been available in the USA, or shipped from the USA for a premium price. Now, at last, it is being stocked at LEGOshop.com which is excellent news for everyone.

If you're a regular visitor here you'll know from this news article that the current issue, issue 10, has an article about Brickset and our visit to the LEGO archive. Joe Meno, editor of Brickjournal, has graciously allowed me to post a PDF extract of the article here for you to download.

As you will gather from the extract, the magazine is a must-read for any self-respecting AFOL and I encourage you take advantage of its new availability and place your order for issue 10 now using these links: UK | USA

No more insane shipping costs to the UK, now I wonder if it will be turning up in Lego brand stores. If it does I shall be very happy

I noticed this yesterday on http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=oSv/vWYkQIY&subid=&offerid=115554.1&type=10&tmpid=2294&RD_PARM1=http%253A%252F%252Fshop.lego.com%252FWhatsNew%252FProductsLaunched2010.aspx%253Fva%253D1%2526s%253D5

I did not know that it was only in the USA before now. Cool that LEGO will be shipping them elsewhere!

O_O So THAT'S how you photographed everything! Oh, and it's always nice putting faces to names! Wow, if only I could get in there and get the 8880 Technic Super Car... Can't we get a set from the LEGO Archive?!? Please?!? Just that one?!?

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 02 Jul 2010 16:40

Um, just a sec: In the PDF extract, what's that yellow "brick/dot" with a black circle background in the 1999 Brickset.com screenshot? An award?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 02 Jul 2010 16:46

@Alemas, Brickset was Lugnet's 'Cool LEGO site of the week' in 1999: http://www.lugnet.com/cool/?p=site-162

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 02 Jul 2010 16:50

@Huw: Oh right, an award then! Great! Any more awards since then?

That's a fantastic article. It must have been quite a privilege to enter those archives.

Why not make a page about the History of Brickset? Show its development over the years, show who's behind it all? Some bios and such. It'd be nice!

Wow! It must have been quite an experience! I would love to go there!

My Cincinnati LEGO Store has a little place for them. They've been there since the SW Visual Dictionary event.

Yaay! :D
.. Just not excited to pay shipping. I'd rather go to a LEGO store. (But of course it would be the same amount of money in gas XD)

Posted by howardlongmore in United Kingdom, 04 Jul 2010 07:07

am i being thick, but what are or who are AFOLs ?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 04 Jul 2010 07:40

AFOL - 'Adult Fan Of Lego'; an adult collector/builder. Most people would probably consider 'adult' in this context to be anyone 18+ ...
TFOL - 'Teen Fan Of Lego' / KFOL - 'Kid Fan Of Lego'
Although Brick Journal is targeted at 'AFOLs', older/more mature 'TFOLs' will enjoy it too.
