Brickset member 'avacadoturban' has just emailed us to say that he was just in the Toys'R'Us in Poole, Dorset, UK, as they were putting out some of the summer 2010 Star Wars Lego sets. Specifically:

    Palpatine's Shuttle - £59.99, Hoth Wampa Cave - £34.99, AT-AT - £99.99, Slave I - £79.99

He also reports that they are still running the 'free chrome trooper on Star Wars Lego purchases over £29.99' promotion.

Update from jon2010, 12 July: "Legoland Windsor is now selling all of the summer 2010 Star Wars sets. AT-AT is £89.99 (with my 10% discount as annual passholder that is c.£80, a lot less than TRU! Most importantly they have Cad Bane's speeder in stock at £44.99, which is the one set I wanted!"

Wow, the AT-AT as well? I'm still waiting for that one to pop up here!

Posted by drewtheskater in United States, 08 Jul 2010 12:35

Can't wait for these to get to the US!

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 08 Jul 2010 12:49

No way! I really hope they make it to the US by the end of July... the next two weeks would be nice though, right before vacation!

Posted by primetime in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:12

£100 for that AT-AT!?! £80 for the Slave 1!?! £60 for the Shuttle?!? I am always amazed by the prices of the newest SW Lego sets but - Aye Carumba! I am almost at the point of bowing out of collecting Star Wars Lego because I just can't justify the spend anymore. This AT-AT is tiny and I'm more than pleased with what Lego did with the motorised one - at £10 cheaper!

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:21

£80 for the Slave I , not surpsing
£100 for the At At quite fair
£35 for the Wampa , good price
£60 for the shuttle , Too much!

Does anyone know if the watford store has any?

Posted by cjg in United States, 08 Jul 2010 13:23

Any news on when they get to the U.S.?

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:38

I wonder if my local watford branch has them...but i am going to the brent cross next week and i am sure they will have them....anyone know how much plo-koons fighter is?

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:46

@ primetime - spot on Lego are pricing themsleves out of sales, I can't believe the prices, Slave 1 is just a joke.

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:49

If only lego reduced the prices a bit then they would get better sales...i was so hyped to get Slave I and now I cant because of the sky-high price!!

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 08 Jul 2010 13:57

Congrats to the UK for getting SW stuff before the U.S. (this year's release distribution is nicely balannced). I suspect that the new SW stuff is just around the corner and waiting in a warehouse in the U.S. I went to Target Sunday and the SW stuff was on clearance (NEWS FLASH BTW). This year I am not doing early buys, I agree with many here that the SW stuff is much too high to justify impulse buying. I will search for sales on favorite sets then wait a year or so for clearance at Retailers for the other items.

Posted by Jonny 2 Scarves in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 13:59

Remember Toys R Us often put the prices of the sets up and they may actually be cheaper elsewhere. If you wait a bit Amazon.co.uk nearly always reduces the price at some point.

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 14:05

Toys r us is sometimes more expensive than other stores, so I'm hoping these sets are like this. I'm happy with the wampa cave though, I thought it would be £40.

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 14:13

POOLE? That's my local TRU! I'll have to get down there soon for a chromie as well as to check those sets out.
Thanks avacadoturban and bluemoose

Posted by wolfgang514 in United States, 08 Jul 2010 14:36

I wish they would hurry up and distribute them in the US!

Posted by ScarVader in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 14:44

Toys R Us are doing the Chrome Stormtrooper? I'd better start spending in Toys R Us! I still think the sets are all overpriced except the Hoth Wampa Cave which I think is a reasonable price.

Posted by piratedave84 in Canada, 08 Jul 2010 15:01

I would like to point out that earlier today I went on the TRU website for Canada and found that they had the sets (Plo Koon's and Grievous's fighters, Palpatine's shuttle and another one I can't recall) listed as out of stock ... but still listed.

I can only believe it will arrive sooner than later ...

EDIT -
The fourth set is Slave 1 (LOVE). The new icon for the Star Wars Lego when you go under "Brands" and then select Lego is the Slave 1 set. Im so excited!!!

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 15:06

Why is lego in the uk so expensive this year ? , I cant see them getting good sales figures like in 2008 and 2009

Posted by Lego_nut in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 15:06

I work for Toys R Us and yes stock is being shipped to all stores, this stock arrived in the Midlands (Solihul, Coventry and Oldbury today/yesterday) and the new sets and packaging is amazing and selling well already. Get down there!!!

Posted by avacadoturban in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 15:08

Forgot to mention that they also had General Grievous' Starfighter for something like £49-99. I'm going to wait to get the Hoth Wampa Cave set until/if the promo figure changes to the white Boba Fett.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 16:21

Agree with Jonny 2 Scarves - if you're patient, you'll be able to pick these sets up way below the RRP at Amazon.co.uk a few months after release. For example, the midi Millenium Falcon is currently more than 40% off at about £20 (I just picked up a duplicate as the price was so good....) and the separatist shuttle is more than 30% off at around £21. I also picked up the big PoP Alamut set for more than 20% off earlier today. I really don't know why people buy non-exclusives anywhere else these days to be honest.

By the way, Lego_nut, seeing that you work at TRU, any idea when UK TRU stores will be stocking the TRU-branded truck ?

Posted by nadnerb112 in United States, 08 Jul 2010 16:33

If they are realeasing this in the UK then it can't be too long until they go out in the US. I hope they be released in a few days because im going to the Lego Store in a few days. But I highly doubt it. I hope I find LSW.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 17:19

Man, Lego is really jacking up the prices for Star Wars sets. The Slave I will probably be $99.99 and it was $49.99 only a few years ago! Palpatine's Shuttle will probably be $79.99. The AT-AT, $119.99 and the Hoth Wampa Cave might be $49.99.

Lego, we're not all multimillionaires (or billionaires)! Lower the prices!

Posted by generaldagger in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 17:24

Thank goodness about the Hoth Wampa Cave, I was afraid we had another 'Swamp Speeder' kinda deal on our hands! But Slave 1, absoloutely ridiculous price!!

Posted by es09 in Australia, 08 Jul 2010 17:27

i dont know if the U.S or the U.K have Big-w but they have exelentb prices for star wars lego

Posted by Darren Coppinger in Ireland, 08 Jul 2010 17:49

I wonder will they be released in Ireland now

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 08 Jul 2010 18:03

jarod98-yeah those prices are probably true, except that the wampa cave is 40.00, not 50.00.
i find it funny that they put C-3PO right in the middle of the battle. wasn't he supposed to be in echo base?

Posted by Acadia in United States, 08 Jul 2010 18:16

The AT-AT is currently listed on TRU US website for the price of $109.99 and is temporarily out of stock.

Posted by legomatt in United Kingdom, 08 Jul 2010 19:34

Those prices are simply appalling. Even taking into account TRU markup, the general retail isn't going to be much less painful. Both the at-at and Slave-1 are reworkings (reduction in At-At case) of earlier models, so hardly any development time to consider when compared to a brand new kit of year-long design work. Plus no printed elements that earlier versions had. The only really new thing would be the mould for Boba's hat, the Bossk head, and the carbonite block... and given that an ostrich, or a camel, or a taun taun (or any other new mould) are regularly thrown into £20 sets (which include new headwear and other parts) and make profit, I don't see how these small extras alone would justify such a high price. But be that as it may, the At-At is the worst offender of the lot. £100 for a jumped-up 'Battle-Pack'? Instead of chucking in a random pile of hoth figs to justify their aimed for price point, why didn't they just make a better job of the actual model we're meant to be buying, i.e. the At-At. Like many above, I cannot be buying these without a hefty price cut despite the fact that as i don't have a slave 1 or At-At i was willing to push the boat out this time.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 08 Jul 2010 20:26

im going to be super annoyed if the Slave 1 is $100 bucks in the US, it probably will be but ill still get it.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 08 Jul 2010 20:41

@i like guitars - I believe the Slave I will be $80 in the U.S. In addition, the Hoth Wampa Cave will cost $40, Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter will cost $20, Palpatine's Shuttle will cost $60, the Clone Turbo Tank will cost $120, the AT-AT will cost $110 (I may be off on that one - not entirely sure), the Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer will cost $40, and Cad Bane's Speeder will cost $40. I think those are all the new Star Wars sets coming out this summer.

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 08 Jul 2010 20:48

I have been waiting for the new sets to come out.
the one i really want is the imperial shuttle though.
Will be an expensive nest 6 months trying to get all the newest sets.
still have to get 3 of the sets that are already out though.
will probably be around 800 for all the new sets then 140 for the sets i don't have.
i need another job just to get the legos.
hard to keep up.
hope some will be on sale though.

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 08 Jul 2010 22:21

Luckily, I may be able to get the AT-AT and Slave I since my birthday is a week earlier than Christmas and my mom stocks up when there are good sales, so I have a good possibility of getting those 2 (the only Star Wars sets I've wanted since last year besides the Hoth Battle Packs).

Posted by voypro in United States, 08 Jul 2010 22:40

I can not believe that no one has considered (considering the recent topic ) that we may be seeing a promotion on the white boba and the release of the new star wars sets. When the Chrome stormtrooper came out I flipped open the Sunday morning tru ad and there it was. By 3 pm that day their were out of them.

I am betting we ,in usa, see a free white boba fett with tru star wars lego purchase. So just to be safe watch for tru advertisement at their earliest publication, Sunday mornings.

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 09 Jul 2010 00:10

Toys R Us has the new AT-AT but says out of stock at 109.99 here in the states.
have a feeling all the new sets are going to be soming out very very soon.

Posted by max villano in Greece, 09 Jul 2010 04:37

heh this sets realesed early on eu I have already general grievous starfighter.

Posted by gold682 in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 06:55

Think i'll get the Wampa Cave for now, if they are still doing the free chrome stormtrooper, otherwise i'll wait a bit until the prices "settle" (ie. I can find them on offer!). This really is an expensive obsession of mine, almost wish i never helped my son build his first lego star wars, then maybe i wouldn't have become hooked! Who am I kidding - I love all things Lego, especially Star Wars!!!

Posted by kurttkrueger in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 07:08

I'm outstanded at the prices of these new Lego sets. I was looking forward to getting Slave I, but I cannot justify it at that price... :(

Posted by lego_nutt in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 08:33

has anyone thought that the Star Wars rights on these from a certian Mr Lucas may also be to blame here for the inflationary mark up on these? Afterall George will want his gold nugget from Lego too for his SW brand name...still, prices are ridiculous....will hold off a few months and get them cheaper as per suggestions earlier from other folks...

Posted by nerfman2227 in United States, 09 Jul 2010 09:34

Hmm, it's Summer and half of the Summer 10' sets are set in Hoth.

Posted by spencey1980 in United States, 09 Jul 2010 09:41

There have been rumors lego is extending there contract with star wars! :-)

Posted by brickmaster123 in United States, 09 Jul 2010 10:27

does anyone know how much they will be in the us?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 10:28

It isn't a rumour; unless there is some enormous falling out between Lego & Lucas, the license *will* be extended. Anyone saying anything else is just scaremongering :-)

And, yes, the major reason for the increased cost of Star Wars compared to non-licensed themes is the so-called "Lucas Tax", the licensing fee that gets paid to Lucasfilm for the rights to make the sets.

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 11:10

Its the same with all licensed themes e.g. Toy Story and Harry Potter

Posted by thebrickdaddy in United States, 09 Jul 2010 11:13

Jarod-98- Happily I can say your estimated prices are way too high. We already know what they are:

In USD:
Hoth Wampa Cave- $30
Plo Koon's SF- $25
GG's SF- $50
Palpatine's Shuttle- $60
Slave 1- $80
CTT- $120
AT-AT- $110. ToysRUS.com is not overpricing it. Think about it- Mon Calamari Cruiser was $110 last year and we all thought that was way overpriced, it makes sense
Cad Banes Speeder- Only set with an unknown price, from $40-$50.

This USA info has been on other sites and the New York Toy Fair for a long time.

Posted by Super Robot Wars in Ireland, 09 Jul 2010 11:43

Does anyone know the retail price of the sets in euros and when they will be arriving in europe or is the same date as the UK? If you do know, it would be really appreciated : ).

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 11:49

At last! Bit expensive though :(

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 09 Jul 2010 11:58

@ Everyone complaining about the price: The licensing (correct spelling?) adds to the price (as always), but be thankful you're not into an even more expensive hobby such as restoring old cars or collecting something like signs, which commonly go for $100+ USD.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 12:00

I think these star wars sets should be no more than these prices below
Wampa cave £35
General grievous £45
Palpatines shuttle £55
Slave I £70
AT At £85

Posted by grelb32 in United States, 09 Jul 2010 12:15

@thebrickdaddy: I think you're right with all of the prices except for the Wampa Cave, which I've heard is $40. The set is about the size of Lego Indy's 'the Jungle Cutter', which was $40 and also had a vehicle, four figures, and a cave.

@All the people who are complaining about the designs of Slave I and the AT-AT: I think that Slave I and the AT-AT are wonderfully done. I never got either of those sets when they came out (I was too young and didn't have a job at that point, thus, I couldn't afford them). So, even if they're not amazingly newly designed, it's still nice that they're coming out with cheaper versions of the sets (compared to $130 for the motorized AT-AT, or several hundred bucks for Slave I on eBay), even if they're only slight improvements to the others.

@People who are complaining about the prices: In my opinion, I think that the prices are mostly fair. The only ones I would really complain about are Plo Koon's Starfighter ($5 too much) and General Grievous' Starfighter (again, $5 too much). But then again, I'd pay the excess $5 just to get the awesome figs that come with the sets, so again, no real problem there in my opinion...

Posted by Commander-Cody in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 13:33

Lucasfilm markup is the bane of massive Star Wars sets, especially in the UK. Not quite sure £100 for the ATAT is anywhere near US$110... (but I do actually agree with 75% of the other price points) . BTW I'm not waiting for a sale

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 09 Jul 2010 13:45

I'm pretty sure these are the correct US prices:

Wampa Cave $39.99
General Grievous Starfighter $49.99
Cad Bane's speeder $49.99(got to be kidding me)
Clone Turbo Tank $119.99
Palpatine's Shuttle $59.99
Slave I $79.99
AT-AT $109.99

Posted by ShatteredGnome in United States, 09 Jul 2010 13:50

The only set I truly want is Slave I out of this batch despite the fact that I actually want them all, except maybe Palpatines shuttle. The prices are making getting all the sets you want nearly impossible, so oh well. I think they should have actually given the AT-AT more accurate details instead of making it have just a bunch of minifigures, however i do like some elements; i feel it is slightly smaller than before and they could have used stickers/ prints. I think for 20 less than the motorized, it should be more detailed, as that is basically the price (or should be lower) if it just had no power function.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 09 Jul 2010 14:06

i dont like to complain but i had hoped that the ATAT would be 50 or 60 dollars, cuz its not that wide, which i thought would make it less expensive so a smaller child could maybe afford it. its much 'slimmer' then the old ones, not that thats a bad thing. i think most of the ''too expensive'' post are from children who dont have a job, as AFOLS have jobs so they have more money to spend on legos (no offense).
P.S. was does I.E. mean?

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 09 Jul 2010 14:46

I agree that the prices for these new SW sets are perhaps higher than expected, but you're dreaming if you thought the AT-AT might be $50 to $60 - LEGO aren't a charity ! (unfortunately !)

Posted by Super Robot Wars in Ireland, 09 Jul 2010 14:53

@itsaturkey i.e is short for id est which in Latin means that is.

By converting the price from pounds to euros I have just realised that a lot of these sets are going to be way to expensive for me : (. I guess I'll have to try and earn money and save because I really want that slave I and clone turbo tank.

Posted by Aurelius in Czech Republic, 09 Jul 2010 15:52

@grelb32 second that! The new Slave I is good set a also good opportunity for people who missed it. Same goes with AT-AT but there I have some doubts.
And the prices are better then ever before (at least here, in Czech republic). I managed to get Slave I for equivalent of only 66 pounds.

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 09 Jul 2010 16:18

DrDaveWatford- i said i hoped, not thought it would be 50-60 dollars, at first glance it looks to be worth that much but im sure theres some cool feature to make it worth 110.00 dollars (there might be a light brick inside) then again,it IS the at-at one of the most coolest vehicles in SW.
Super Robot Wars- thanks!
looks like theres a LOT of new mini figs coming with this new wave of sets. i wonder if lego has made all the SW vehilces into sets yet.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 09 Jul 2010 18:20

@All those stating different prices - I have provided the prices here on several different posts. To shorten this post, just go to Brickipedia. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/LEGO_Wiki

Posted by ogel646 in United States, 09 Jul 2010 18:34

To me, I strongly believe the Cad Bane's Speeder should be no more than USD $40 as it just looks as big as the Separatist' Shuttle. The minifigs are cool but most are duplicate. So If it was really $50 then it would be another price miracle

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 09 Jul 2010 20:16

@Everyone complaining about the price of Cad Bane's Speeder - The price is USD $40. It's final, as stated on Brickipedia. The piece count is 318, and it has five minifigures, including a new and exclusive Shahan Alama, and a new and exclusive Senate Commando Captain.

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 04:34

itsaturkey - I hear what you're saying, but in all honestly I doubt whether there will be any particularly cool feature(s) to justify the price. The number of figs might have something to do with it, but overall I think it's just a further example of "LEGO inflation", which is running at a much higher rate than inflation in general. In real terms I suspect that the sets ARE more expensive this year than say in 2006 when 6209 (previous Slave 1) was out. It's not down to licensing costs (none to pay on the trains, and see how they've jumped in price); perhaps it's just because LEGO is currently very profitable and riding the crest of a wave and so feels more comfortable pricing its products at a significant premium compared with a few years back when the company was really struggling.

Regardless of pricing, I'm a hopeless LEGO addict and a sucker for their products so I will still buy them. And they know that !!

Posted by legoguysw in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 05:58

These prices are just crazy!
Palpatine's Shuttle - £59.99 Probably the most reasonable, but still crazy
Hoth Wampa Cave - £34.99 Again, just mad
AT-AT - £99.99 What? The last AT-AT was only £89.99, and that came with a full set of motors!
Slave I - £79.99- This is just ridiculous. A few years ago you could buy this set for half the price (and that was at full RRP!). Granted this might be a bit bigger, but not twice as big!

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 07:14

Yes, I have the last Slave 1 and this new one looks like just an improvement on the last one. I paid £40, that was a good price (I think, anyway) but it Was NOT worth £80, So is this new one twice as good?

Posted by itsaturkey in United States, 10 Jul 2010 09:51

DrDaveWatford- yeah just look at the advent calendar, it goes 15$ 20$ 25$ 30$ lego raises the price every year a 5 dollars.

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 10:46

Yeah, bionicles where the same, Up a pound every year

Posted by collectormom in United States, 10 Jul 2010 11:05

ToysRUs.com has the AT-AT on their site for $109.99. Looks like they just listed it but it's not available to buy yet

Posted by one wag in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 11:36

have just purchased the only Hoth Cave in Southampton Toys R Us - lots of AT ATs, lots of Slave 1's. I can report that the 3 cheaper Prince of Persia sets are all 1/2 price in the Southampton Disney store (and plenty in stock) - I mean I did need more ostriches! However Southampton TRU are not doing the Chrome Storm trooper offer.

Posted by R2-R6 in United States, 10 Jul 2010 11:55

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 17:05

Salve 1 with 573 pices works out at nearly 14pence per piece, is this the most expensive per piece charge for any lego set?

Posted by lego_nutt in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 19:04

2 out of 3 TRU i checked in Northern Ireland did not have the new SW sets yet, but Smyths in Belfast had them all. I have to say that while the Slave 1 looks really good, i could not possibly pay £80 for it....def not worth it. I think adding an additional £19, one of the new city train sets would be a wiser investment....but each to their own...for me, i won't be spending my cash on these kits just yet.

Posted by Webcam09 in United States, 10 Jul 2010 19:17

Great news! Youtuber michaelmgf found some of the summer sets in the US at his local Toys R Us.
General Grievous Starfighter and Slave 1!

Good Luck Hunting!

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 20:26

I just used this website (http://www.xe.com/) and I converted all of the amounts to USD and found these prices (rounded to the nearest $5):

Palpatine's Shuttle: $74.99
Hoth Wampa Cave: $44.99
AT-AT: $124.99
Slave I: $99.99

This is what I believe the prices will be:

Palpatine's Shuttle: $74.99
Hoth Wampa Cave: $44.99
AT-AT: $129.99
Slave I: $99.99

@itsaturkey - I guess C-3PO's flirting with K-3PO. 8)

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 10 Jul 2010 20:30

I just checked Toys R Us' website to see if any of the sets were available; sadly the Palpatine's Shuttle and Hoth Wampa Cave weren't on the site. Although the AT-AT was pricing at an incredibly low $109.99! (Although it was out of stock as talked about before). Plus, the Slave I wasn't on the site. :(

Posted by thebrickdaddy in United States, 10 Jul 2010 22:57

@jarod98- For a second time, we already know the prices. The converter is a good idea, but not always trustworthy due to Lego's pricing. once again, these are the correct prices:

Hoth Wampa Cave- $40
Plo Koon's SF- $25
GG's SF- $50
Palpatine's Shuttle- $60
Slave 1- $80
CTT- $120
AT-AT- $110.
Cad Banes Speeder- $40

does lego sets arrive in Canada the same time as in the US?

Posted by SapmiSatan in Norway, 11 Jul 2010 04:32

I live in Norway, I bought Slave retail in Denmark two weeks ago(they had all the summer sets, except AT-AT) at the steep price of 800 Danish Kroner. Some days ago I bought Wampa cave(500NOK) and Plo Koon's Starfighter(300NOK), I'm going to buy the AT-AT as well(I don't even dare guessing what that'll cost), my point, if I have one would be: translate this currency to USD and stop complaining.

A basic rule of marketing is that an item is worth whatever people are willing to pay for it. In the current US housing market, which has seen housing prices plummet in the last two years, sellers who continue to try to sell at pre-2008 prices find their house sitting on the market. I know several people who have refused to bring down the selling price of their home because, "This is what it's worth". And years later, still no buyer. Products aren't worth what you wish or want them to be, they are worth what someone says, "Ok, I'll pay that."

Similarly, Lego products are worth what we're willing to pay for them. Now some people here have said they won't buy these sets at these prices, but just as many people will buy them. As much as we all complain about the "greedy" Lego company, they are following the natural business procedure: find the breaking point of what people will no longer be willing to pay for a given set. Evidently, that point has not been reached yet, because the prices keep going up. It's really our fault, not Lego's. We keep buying the product at higher and higher prices. That doesn't make them "greedy" or "evil" because they are trying to maximize return on production.

@crzypainter - Bang on the money. If you don't like the prices then don't pay them. If I were Lego I'd keep inflating the prices until I wasn't selling the product.

I, personally, won't be paying the exorbitant prices any longer as they're getting out of my league. Not making a statement but just being realistic. I hope to get the Death Star and that's my lot as that is the only set I 'really' want (and even that is silly money).

I still believe, though, that the Hoth Wampa Cave, Grievous Starfighter and Palpatine's shuttle ARE fairly priced in what I remember about TLG Star Wars pricing. I just wish that more smaller sets (e.g £20-£40) would be out in the Summer and not virtually all $40 or more

kmart is now listing the Hoth Wampa Cave, Grievous Starfighter, and Plo Koon's star fighter.
says out of stock

We got some of the sets early this month here in Singapore. Really excited about the Slave 1. But can't say the same for the price. An indication how much they cost here: Slave 1 sgd200, Wampa Cave sgd110, Palpy's Shuttle sgd160, Plo Koon starfighter sgd56, Grievious starfighter sgd110.

Just to add, I was in Legoland Windsor yesterday and all/most of the new sets were in including Cad Baine's Speeder which I reluctantly bought at £44.99!! AT-AT was £89.99. Prices may be high but they were all flying off the shelves.

Should also say that I used Amazon France to buy Plo Kloon's starfighter at 26 euros and General Grievous Starfighter at 47 euros. All delivered to the UK for £5.

@Tantive IV
I'm sorry, I'm confused. Are you claiming that Lego should be collectively owned by all citizens of Denmark? Simply because Lego originated and manufactures in Denmark does not mean they are "yours" at all. Did you buy the plastic, or the molds, or pay any salaries, or insurance premiums, or spend on advertising? Lego products, before being sold, are the property of TLG and they have the right to market them wherever and however they want.

I'm sure there are thousands spent by Lego on marketing strategy and preparing release schedules. There are reasons some sets show up in some countries before others. But to accuse Lego of being evil because they haven't released a particular set in your neighborhood yet is ludicrous.

No one is stealing from you because they bought a set at their local toy store, regardless whether that set is sold in Denmark or not. If you have a concern with how TLG decides to release sets, I would suggest you contact them and kindly explain your hope that they would show preference to Lego's country of origin. But please don't say it is evil for them to make you wait a few weeks longer to get an AT-AT.

@Tantive IV I agree with crzypainter, there's no need to get angry. I know it's annoying that LEGO decide to sell some sets in just one country but that's just how they market. Where I live I miss out on tons of promotions and sets so I know what it's like. And if you really want a set badly you can easily order it off legoshop@home, amazon or ebay : ), that's what I would do.

@Orange Lemons, That made me feel a bit better, If you compare them to Games workshop miniatures
(which I collect) It doesn't seem so bad :)

My local TRU has them all, thanks for pointing me in the right direction

I bought the Wampa cave today, and I plan on getting Palpatine's Shuttle and the AT-AT later this year.
