    ©2010 LEGO Group

Free Lego Star Wars Chrome Stormtrooper with ANY Lego Star Wars construction set purchase.   This offer is valid both online and in stores and ends August 29, 2010 or while quantities last.  For online purchases, you are limited to 1 per order.  In store, they were limiting us to 1 per order and/or per person but that probably varies depending on the store.  With the Summer Star Wars sets still so new, these will probably fly off the shelf so don't wait too long!  Thanks to voypro and Jarod98 for the headsup!

Update: TRU is also offering a Free Toy Story Alien with ANY Lego Toy Story purchase under the same details/restrictions as above.

If only I lived near a TRU store!

Posted by mommylego in United States, 06 Aug 2010 13:54

From the ad, it looks like you can also get a mini spaceship with alien set free with the purchase of a Toy Story 3 set.

Posted by drewtheskater in United States, 06 Aug 2010 13:55

Sounds awesome! I'll probably pick up the new Wampa Cave. Thanks for the heads up!

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 06 Aug 2010 14:00

Wow the best thing TRU Canada is offering is a 20% off of all Atlantis sets :[

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:04

@s1w2i3t4c5h6f7o8o9t0 - I picked up the Wampa Cave myself and I convinced my wife to buy an Army Men on Patrol and a Snowy Battlepack. :o)

Posted by refriedbeans in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:11

Good thing I already bought two Alien sets!!!

Posted by redsoxfan1997 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:13

I bought two Alien set, they are nice ($3.99)

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:13

Great news! Now we can get extra aliens and chrome stormtroopers to add to our collections, with no added costs!

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:19

Free ALIEN! :P On The Other Subject, This may Be My Chance to Get a RT Battle Pack for The Flesh Heads. (I Need 'em for The Upcoming HP.)

Posted by camoran in China, 06 Aug 2010 14:28

Starting from today? so will I have this free chrome stormtrooper if I just buy the cheapest battle pack? Plus is it available to all TRU? Coz my local TRU is so small and I don't know if they must have it or not.

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 14:59

Even better, TRU .com has free shipping on $49+ orders!

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 15:15

Rats, just spent all my money... (and only 45 min ago too)

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 06 Aug 2010 15:21

@camoran - You can go onto toysrus.com and check which local stores supposedly have chrome stormies in stock. Please note, though, that this will not likely be 100% accurate as cashiers sometimes forget to scan the stormies during checkout. It's probably best to call before you go.

Posted by voypro in United States, 06 Aug 2010 15:41

@camoran - Yep, they are there now, at least a my local Lexington KY Store (I called a Louisville KY and they had them too).

I had a hunch that TRU might have the White Boba Fett today, because I spoke with the TRU manager and he told me they were going to do some Lego Star Wars Promotion, and all of there Lego SW cases ready "do not shelve until Aug 6th (today). I just made sense since the White Boba have been leaking out that they might be the promo released to day...WRONG. To my surprise ... Chrome Stormies, again.

I bought several battle packs (total w/ tax $13.77) and got a Chromie with each purchase. NOTE: ask the cashier to ring each Lego SW as a separate order (one SW battle pack & Chromie). And Yes they will hiding them at service desk. I am guessing this special might be in this Sunday's weekly TRU advertisement, we'll see.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 06 Aug 2010 16:04

@voypro - this promotion has so far only been advertised via revised emails this morning from Toys R Us. It's not even in this coming Sunday's flyer.

Posted by camoran in China, 06 Aug 2010 17:33

Back from TRU during lunch break :P. And yes I bought myself 2 battle packs and had the figure per each purchase. Thanks all you guys :) My local TRU (San Jose, CA)have about 20 to 30 stormies but it may be possible to be run out during this weekend after everyone knew the news.

Posted by iabstract in United States, 06 Aug 2010 18:59

Almost makes it worth shopping at TRU.

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 06 Aug 2010 19:26

This is a very useful promo for people like me who didn't get a Chrome Stormtrooper during the first promotion. I just went down to my local Toys "R" Us, bought the '8093-1: Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter', and received the Chrome Stormtrooper (I didn't even have to ask the cashier about the promo!). The promotion clearly states that you get a free Chrome Stormtrooper with every Star Wars Lego set purchase, so you can buy the '2853590-1: Chrome Stormtrooper' and still get another one for free through the promotion (I'm not sure if you can do that in-store though). Chromies ROCK!

@iabstract - I agree (but TRU hasn't overpriced any of the new Star Wars Summer sets yet).

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 19:28

I, too was able to get a couple chrome stormtroopers, and an alien w/ship! It was to my surprise this morning! I went in on a hunt for the new minifigs, and saw the signs for the free promos! So it wasn't a wasted trip! By the way, no series 2 minifigs yet in my area!

On other news, I did get confirmation from a Lego Store employee, that they are in fact coming out with POTC Legos along with the release of the video game in late 2011!!! The only downside for all you POTC fans is that they are themed around the 4th movie! Bummer...no Black Pearl!!!! :(

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 06 Aug 2010 19:42

Is this in Canada?

Posted by Crt2 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 20:23

@legogirl19: Thanks Miss! (You are a Girl, Right?) Is The Flying Dutchman (Ship) in The 4th Movie? I Sure Hope so!

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 06 Aug 2010 21:06

Hey, what's a cheap set right now on Star Wars? I would really want a chrome stormtrooper. :)

Posted by Lego Minifig Man in Canada, 06 Aug 2010 21:14

I don't have a TRU near me, but I'm travelling somewhere that does tommorow. Does anyone know if this offer is in Canada!? I'd like to know before I get there.

Posted by cwl704 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 21:31

Grabbed a couple today here in Michigan..I'm sure they will go fast.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 06 Aug 2010 21:42

no the deal is not in canada:(

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 06 Aug 2010 21:51

@ Crt2: I am in fact a "girl"! LOL :) I am not entirely sure about the dutchman, but from what I was told, I don't think so!

@ LobsterWarrior: I bought the cheapest sets that TRU had which were----8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack, 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack, and/or the older 8014 Clone Wars Clone Walker Battle Pack, 8015 Clone Wars Assassin Droids.....all @ $12.99 each

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 06 Aug 2010 22:17

My local TRU didn't carry the Chrome Stormtrooper before during that previous special when I bought one of the battle packs. I highly doubt they will this time either. Unlike last time, I'd even be willing to just buy them separately, if only they were in stock.

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 06 Aug 2010 23:45

@yellowcastle ~ I heard about this deal in my Toy R Us " Wild for school" booklet I received in the mail, it says post master please deliver between 8/3/10 - 8/5/10. it also comes with a save $10 for any purchase over $100 or more for Rewards R us members. it's on page 5 and 6.. should I send you a picture of my booklet?

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 07 Aug 2010 13:28

@legowomen1980p - For that "Wild for School" booklet, I wonder if the copies sent through the mail are different than the digital one I received via email since I can't find any mention of a $10 off coupon on purchases $100+ for Rewards members.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 07 Aug 2010 14:40

@legogirl19 - Ah, thanks!

Posted by ScarVader in United Kingdom, 07 Aug 2010 15:25

When will they do it in the U.K.?

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 07 Aug 2010 16:16

@legowomen1980p - I haven't received that TRU booklet. Hopefully it's just delayed because I could use that coupon. :o)

Posted by linlsw in Taiwan, Province of China, 07 Aug 2010 19:05

@legowomen1980p - Can we know if that " save $10 for any purchase over $100 or more for Rewards R us members" coupon can be used in store only or valid online also? And YES! A picture of that coupon will be great! :)

I was able to purchase the stormies individually at TRU today for $2.99 each without purchasing any Star Wars sets... but they wouldn't let me get a free Stormtrooper with a Stormtrooper purchase. Oh Well! I only bought 2 (I thought I'd leave some for the Promo).

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 08 Aug 2010 01:11

would not let me buy the stormtrooper so i got 2 sets i needed and now i have 2 chromies. was able though to buy 4 Aliens at 3.99 each.

Posted by DougHnut in United States, 08 Aug 2010 02:43

agree - at my TRU in CA you can buy them without buying a set...$2.99 for the silver stormie and $3.99 for the alien ship. not many troopers left though. i just bought one of each.

Posted by nadnerb112 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 03:56

Pretty funny that I got the last one in the store. They had lots and lots of aliens and 1 Stormtrooper.

Posted by maninblack3 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 08:16

Howdy! We received the above mentioned "Wild For School" booklet at home via the US Mail. Momma stopped by the store to confirm with Employees. She was shown the MIB Chrome 'Troopers! She was told they'd be free with a Star Wars set purchase, AND, later would be available for individual purchase. They did a TEST ring up and the 'Trooper was priced at $2.99. We were first to the store at opening and all five Family members purchased "Battle Pack" sets and we each received our free Chrome 'Trooper! Later that evening I stopped by again. I waited until there was no one in line and quietly inquired about purchasing 'Troopers individually. The Lady was all too happy to sell me FOURTEEN of them, AND ALL AT BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE, for a Grand Total of $22 and some change with tax, OUT THE DOOR I WENT!!! (Already had our five 'Troopers from previous so this gives us our 3 X 3 Squadron of NINE Chrome StormTroopers for display, and some extras to save, sealed. WOOHOO!!!

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 08 Aug 2010 11:39

lucky Mainblack3. Off to star wars weekend at legoland california. see if i can score a Boba Fett

Posted by knuclear200x in United States, 08 Aug 2010 12:46

So if i buy a star wars AND Toy story set, whill i get two free of the respective?

Posted by blazetrooper501 in United States, 08 Aug 2010 13:04

This is so cool I got one from earlier this year when they had the offer and I got one.Yesterday I went to my local tru and I was able to get 2 chrome stormtroopers so now I have 3.

Posted by Lego Lord Mayorca in United States, 08 Aug 2010 14:27

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't any of the battle packs sold at TRU $12.99? I went today to take advantage of the offer, and the laid-back employee let me get a second Chrome Stormtrooper with my Clone Walker Battle Pack...for FREE as well. This was after an inquiry on my part as if there were any extras for individual purchase. He rang it up, but on my receipt, the second stormtrooper comes up as the first one: free. I only paid $12.99 and tax. Those looking to score multiple troopers with one purchase might want to try this tactic, as it seems some TRU computers read the scanned bags as separate instances of the promotion being applied, hence the zero additional cost.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 08 Aug 2010 15:33

Went to 2 tru in cali and they wouldn't let me buy the fig alone

Posted by the_culture in United States, 08 Aug 2010 19:58

@ Lego Lord Mayorca - I can totally verify that. I picked up 2 $12 packs (8084, 8015). I was prepared to buy them separately. When she went to grab the minifig, I told her 2 of them and got them both. I think most people shouldn't have a problem when the cashier is cool about it.

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 08 Aug 2010 22:33

TRU in Mesa AZ won't let you buy the chromies separate until August 29th, I bought the Snowtrooper battle pack to get one because I know these little guys will be gone by then.

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 09 Aug 2010 02:00

tried a couple of toys r us on the way to legoland ca. none of them would let me buy just the figure. got lucky though. got 2 White boba fetts at legoland along with several bricks aqnd posters and a little black book.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 09 Aug 2010 13:56

Were there a lot of the white boba fett at lego land being given away?

Posted by c.lee.r in United States, 09 Aug 2010 15:20

no not that i know. you had to ask for it because they did not have many. were giving away mostly black lego book with vader on it. i got one of the books also. http://starwarsblog.starwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/12.jpg

Posted by pookie in United States, 09 Aug 2010 18:02

I went in to TRU and said that I wanted 2 stormtroopers. They scaned both but I only paid for one. Walked out 1hr later come back and did the same thing.

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 09 Aug 2010 18:40

@pookie - What state are you in, I tried this in Mesa AZ and they were very sure that they wouldn't sell them on their own.

Posted by pookie in United States, 09 Aug 2010 19:02

California. I also had a feeling that they would not sell the promo, so after buying the small lego set 12.99 and getting my free promo I asked the cashier if I could buy a extra stormtrooper she said ok and just scanned it come up 2.99. So I paid and walked out then decided to go back and just buy 3 stormtroopers. She scanned all 3 paid walked out looked at receipt noticed that I only paid for 2 and got 1 as promo free. So this time I just went back and said I want 2 stormtroopers both scanned 1 2.99 1 promo free. The key is to go in and just say you want to buy 2 of the stormtroopers if they are able to scan the item and it comes up with a price and not a error code then you should be able to buy it. Its worth a try.:)

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 09 Aug 2010 19:04

OK, I'll give it another shot, thanks pookie

Posted by Captain Maersk in United States, 09 Aug 2010 19:10

After 15 minutes of searching the stock room, they finally found them. I said I wanted 2, paid $2.99 for one, and got the other free.

Posted by mrsprewell in United States, 09 Aug 2010 19:21

I tried to get the free alien by buying the army man set. But at the check out, the lady told me that the promo only applies to toy story 3 sets, not all toy story.... so I walked out without any alien....

Is that true? or my local toysrus staff just doesn't know what they were doing?

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 09 Aug 2010 19:24

If you're in Cali, try the TRU in Cerritos across from the cerritos mall. i was able to buy one and got one free.

Posted by pookie in United States, 09 Aug 2010 20:12

Hey mrsprewell the staff must be clueless cause if you go online to toyrus.com you get the set with free promo so why can't you get it in the stores? Also tell them just to scan the both product if it goes thur as sale for the army set and promo no sale for the alien ship than whats the problem.

Posted by lego star wars dude in United States, 09 Aug 2010 23:24

finally got 1 .i saw they had half the box left :O

Posted by legowomen1980p in United States, 10 Aug 2010 01:28

I went to Toy R Us today and got 8 chrome starwars figures at buy one get one free($2.99 for each one) and paid $3.99 for the toy story sets. I think it is a bug, the toy story sets would not let you buy one get one free, but I was allowed to buy them though at $3.99. The chrome/ silver star wars figure was buy one get one free.. and they were all on the same receipt.. not like on-line. I live in Illinois.. NOT California. Each store here only received 15 silver stormies shipped Fed-Ex.

Posted by Werdna in United States, 11 Aug 2010 00:27

I went to my local TRU an hour or so ago, bought a battle pack, and realized as I exited the store that the lady didn't give me a trooper. I guess they must have run out or something =( . I did however, get an alien for $3.99.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 11 Aug 2010 08:30

if you buy $30 or more LEGO do you get a crome stormie? Cause i bought atlantis gateway of the squid and got a stormie. I think it was a mistake of the cashier person. She looked really bored

Posted by lego star wars dude in United States, 11 Aug 2010 18:06

went to my toys r us again at i had luck this time: there were 3 employes and i asked 1 of them if they had stormies and if could buy them (by then 1 of the 3 employes had left) she checked on the pc and told me that i could only get 1 if i bought a set.(second employe left) then she said you wana buy some???? i said yes please lol now i got 7 :D WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
