    More details...
    ©2010 LEGO Group

Tony "SavaTheAggie" Sava has reported finding & buying (and has provided photographic proof) the Series 2 Collectable Minifigs at the Toys-R-Us in Webster, Texas. We think this is the first time the series 2 figs have been confirmed as available in the US of A, so let the hunt begin !  Good luck tracking them down & let us know how you get on.

Also, check out the other photos in Tony's flickrstream: he has posted the US/Canadian barcodes !

While the figs are slowly percolating out across mainland Europe, we in the UK are still waiting for general availability :-(

Update: grogall has once again created a combined single-page crib-sheet showing the US and EU barcodes. Thanks Guido! (--Huw)

Awesome!!! Can't wait! My favs are the Surfer, Mime, and Spartan.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 18 Aug 2010 17:00

my local wal-mart said that they should have them by the end of the week.

Posted by Tervlon in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:09

Here we go again. Not that excited about the hunt just the figs. Lets hope we don't have to run over each other or steal from small children like we did with series one. ;)

Posted by Paco the Duck Ninja in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:13

Any word on a wider release to Wal-Marts or Targets? I don't want to have to drive to Chicago just to find some.

Posted by cjg in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:18

YESSSSS!!!

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 18 Aug 2010 17:23

Well my sister works at a TRU in Canada... pretty sure she has a shift tomorrow. So I'll just print off the barcodes and let her check then.

Thanks for the info, though I'm not sure I'll go to great lengths to find them.

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:34

I already saw his post over on Eurobricks yesterday with the barcode sheet, so today, I went to my local TRU as soon as it opened. Sadly, they don't have these yet. In my area, Tuesdays are the typical days for shipments, so I won't check in again until next Tuesday...except next Tuesday school is in session again so I no longer have time. I really wish they came out this week.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:37

Thanks so much, SavaTheAggie! This is exciting news. Even better, the best figure in the bunch (The Spartan) has the easiest barcode to recognize by eye. :o)

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 17:56

anybody find them in the northern part of the U.S.?

Posted by flynetqc in Canada, 18 Aug 2010 18:08

will look for those marvelous Figs at my Local TRU this weekend!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 18:25

I don't know about anybody else but I missed out on series1 because of the EBay sellers. Our local TRU's said they sold out in 20 minutes. Our local Lego store which is a 45 minute drive sold out in 2 hours and were only selling 5 per person per day. So I'm not holding my breath for series 2. I think Lego was dumb for how they released them. They should have sold them as a whole set in a display box for $40. I would have paid for that rather than running to TRU twice a week.

Posted by legobob in United States, 18 Aug 2010 18:51

oh yeah

Posted by the_culture in United States, 18 Aug 2010 19:14

Called TRU this morning and a friend of mine said the series 1 item number has been removed. Hopefully they start getting these this week. And Wal-Mart will be getting these too? I was under the impression that only the LEGO store and TRU were getting them...

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 18 Aug 2010 19:22

I wonder when they will be on lego.com

Posted by Griff13 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 19:29

Found them at Toys r us in Fairview Heights il. Got them all but the Vampire, that one was already sold out, and I got to the store early. So they went fast!

Posted by shoobathelemur in United States, 18 Aug 2010 19:55

For those who have found series 1 or 2 at TRU, where in the store are they displayed? The only place I found series 1 was at Urban Outfitters long after they were sold out everywhere else. Still missing 3 of em too.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:04

YES! Then my chances of the figs being on my local Toys R Us this friday (Like they said they would) Increase by....some percent! :P

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 18 Aug 2010 20:04

Hopefully Nic can get the android app Minifig Collector updated asap.

Posted by Griff13 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:17

@Shoobathelemur - they were on a center aisle rack top shelf right next to the main row of Lego, our store normally puts the small sets there like the mini creators and racers.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:19

Yay! They're here! I can't wait until I get them!!!!! Yay!

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:20

Does anyone know if the minifigures landed in Maryland yet?

Posted by brents in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:46

They arrived at the Allen, Texas TRU this past monday. They only received 2 boxes and were gone within a day or two. However, the friendly employee told me that they are trying to limit the number purchased per customer to 5 or 6. Hopefully LEGO learned their lesson with series 1 and is doing a bigger run with series 2.

Posted by legotrains in United States, 18 Aug 2010 20:51

Yeah thats great i live in texas and theres a toysrus near me YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by chicagorando in United States, 18 Aug 2010 21:22

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 21:32

Anybody in Minnisota?

Posted by levi in United States, 18 Aug 2010 22:19

why can't I even find series 1 in my walmart what area of the store are they in

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 18 Aug 2010 22:21

@levi: the same reason you can't find any alpha team sets :P they are gone
How do you print the barcode sheet?

Posted by beefygrefe in United States, 18 Aug 2010 22:34

I called a couple of TRU's in MN and they didn't have any yet and they didn't sound too optimistic about having them in this week's shipment. I'd put money on them having them next week...if I were a betting man...which I'm not.

Posted by Wagnerml2 in United States, 18 Aug 2010 22:38

@ Griff - Ha, followed up behind you in Fairview Heights, IL and bought the last 29. Got them all but the vampire as well. Interstingly enough the cashier told me that the store would be placing a limit on the next batch that they have. She didn't know what it would be, but my guess is 5 per customer. Where do you live anyway? I'm in Belleville. Also, they we $1.99 each which was $1 less each than they were at Borders for Series I.

Posted by superbrick in United States, 18 Aug 2010 22:40

Thanks for the barcodes. I hope the majority of them go to little kids, NOT EBAY SELLERS. Its dumb how Lego only lets you have 5 minifigs :(. Hopefully they might release a lot of them so you could have maybe ten.

Posted by nicjansma in United States, 19 Aug 2010 00:27

Just updated the Minifig Collector app for Android phones with the USA barcodes. The app should now work with both Series 1 and Series 2, USA and EUR minifigs!

Posted by skyscraper in United States, 19 Aug 2010 00:43

can't find them in Washington, somebody tell me if they are here :P
I've heard borders (book store?) was selling them, do they get them the same time toys r us does or no??

Posted by Griff13 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 00:49

@ Wagnerml - I live in the Belleville area. You would think if they are going to place a limit on them it would be 16 so you could at least get a whole set without dragging in 3 and a half of your friends in the store with you, or walking in and out the door 4 times with a different shirt and hat. I was surprised at the $1.99 for two reasons; one, they mark up everything Lego; two, I got series one at the same store near the end of the series run and paid $2.49 for them.

Also in the area, Target Greenmount has/had lots of star wars sets on sale and wal mart on 50 had 4 or 5 different (not mini figures) sets on their clearance row.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 02:01

Going to Lego store MOA Tomorow hopefully. also will check borders ect.

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 19 Aug 2010 02:23

It's funny how series 1 went out of stock SO quickly in USA. Last Friday I found a shop with 3 full boxes so I finished of my collection. I hope WHSmith starts off with series 2 not behind the counter because thats how I got the base of my collection.

Posted by diehardlegofan in United States, 19 Aug 2010 08:28

I'm going to the LEGO Shop, they'll probably have some there.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 19 Aug 2010 08:55

So happy I live in the US and I have mine in route from HK. This way I don't need to worry about the craziness of the minifigure chase as much

Posted by Jabba the Taff in United Kingdom, 19 Aug 2010 10:57

Just pick up some in WHSmith in Crewe. Sounds as though they will be in most WHSmith stores this weekend.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 19 Aug 2010 12:00

Posted by powerpig in Canada, 19 Aug 2010 12:10

@R4-G9 — None on the east coast as far as I can tell; at least, not in NB or NS.

Posted by legominifig27 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 12:10

Did anyone see them in PA?

Posted by voypro in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:06

None in Central Kentucky TRU.

Posted by voypro in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:11

Oh BTW. I am hearing people mention wal-mart and target, etc. To my knowledge, Wal-Mart did not stock ser1, nor did Target.

Not that Wal-mart would not sell them, but if Wal-Mart Stocks say a series 3 or 4. Production would need to be 10 times what ser 1 was. Wally-World would not mess around with some 2 boxes per month crap.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:20

@Voypro - For the U.S., Series 1 did not appear in Walmart or Target. They were, however, carried by Walmart in Canada and Target in Australia, if i recall correctly. But, seeing as how neither of them carried Series 1 in the U.S. and that Series 1 and 2 were produced back to back by Lego, I would imagine that we won't see Series 2 in our Targets or Walmart either. I'll still keep checking, though, and will hold out hope for Series 3. :o)

@all - No Series 2 yet in D.C./Maryland/Virginia...

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:32

Success! Went to the Cedar Park, TX toysrus store today and my kids and I searched with the barcodes and got all of the ones that they wanted. I let them keep two and the rest are going in the closet for Christmas :) Too bad I had to have them with me so it won't be a surprise, but you have to get these things the first day they come out. We got 3 Spartans, 2 Vampires, 2 police officers, a witch, a pharoah, an explorer, two Karate dudes and two skiers. The boys picked out the skiers and the police officer/karate dude to keep right now.

Here is how I found these minifigures. Yesterday, I called the Toysrus store in Webster, TX where savaaggie had purchased his, and they gave me an Item Number. I then called 1-800-TOYSRUS early this morning and asked for a "land-based specialist" so that I could find out the inventory in my local toysrus stores because I know this is truck day at that store. They checked using the Item Number (587572) and told me that the Cedar Park store had them. The other two stores in Austin have not yet received them, so this is a good way in the coming weeks to check on those two stores. It is great to know that the store has them before heading out and being disappointed.

Hope this helps!

Posted by voypro in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:33

@yellowcastle

RE:ser 1 and 2 production. That is my thinking too. Which is why I see series 2 as likely being as scarce as ser1 was. Since TLG is a solid profit oriented company, I am guessing they will attempt to meet demand, far better that happened on ser 1 (and likely ser2). With that in mind, could production of Ser 3 be any less than 2-3 times as much, as ser 1 & 2?

I am going to be at open of my local TRU each day this week til ser 2 hits. I suggest everyone consider same thing.

Posted by voypro in United States, 19 Aug 2010 13:44

@liisadd76 - Ha Ha Ha Ha! Just call TRU, gal said, "Wow that is a very popular item, I have had 3 calls on it in the past 15 minutes". thanks for the heads up!

tru in canada's code for them is 409340, if they re released at toysrus.ca they will be put online on sept. 1st
hope this helps

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:00

Just tried out Liisadd76's method of calling 1-800-TOYSRUS and no TRU within 100 miles of Palos Hills IL has them in stock! Maybe next week, since they hit Fairview Heights IL yesterday and that is about 284 miles from me! Have to check back though! Would've been nice to find them today, could've made an awesome b-day present to myself!! ;)

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:05

@legogirl19: I think the key for me was knowing what day the store gets their trucks - the stores were kind enough to give me that information when I called them. I only called this morning because I knew this store was getting a truck on this very day. Otherwise, I know they would be sold out the next day.

Also, when I was there, the cashier tried to tell me that they were putting a limit on the purchases of 5, but we already had about 16 of them in our hand-cart, so I spoke with the manager and he made an exception. Looks like at least the Cedar Park store will be limiting to 5 from now on.

Posted by blueclone65 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:05

Nothing at TRU in Allen TX, sold out. Nothing at Target / Walmart (never saw series 1 at either place). LEGO store in Frisco TX doesn't have them yet either.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 19 Aug 2010 14:11

the lego store in calgary will be getting these somtime in early sept.

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:16

@legominifig27 - Nothing in southeastern PA yet. I know the delivery days are not necessarily the same for the 2-3 TRU stores in my area, but the one closest did not receive any in this week's shipment. Also, the local Borders bookstores did not have any in stock. I live within a half hour drive of 2 TRU stores, 4 Borders bookstores, and 3 malls, including King of Prussia where the Lego Store is, but none of these locations have Series 2 yet nor do they have any remaining Series 1 figures. This weekend, I will have the opportunity to check one additional TRU in PA a bit farther out of my region, but I'm not expecting any positive news.

Posted by DHCP1121 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:20

I went to a few Toys R Us stores in the Chicagoland area and I had the same results as legogirl19 but I was able to pick up a City Advent Calendar!

Posted by shoobathelemur in United States, 19 Aug 2010 14:32

Clearwater, FL TRU got a box and already sold all of them. Other local TRU haven't received any yet. I should try to trade my xtra series 1s for them lol.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 19 Aug 2010 15:22

@liisadd76 - thanks so much for the info!

Posted by nandel in United States, 19 Aug 2010 15:54

West of Chicago, I visited to TRUs this morning and neither of them had them, so i'm just gonna have to check next week. I'm getting really anxious for these little devils.

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 16:12

@yellowcastle: You are very welcome! :)

Posted by 1265 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 17:03

Excited about series 2....however, I decided to pre-order a box online to avoid the time and/or effort to track down the minifigures. I was able to get 20 of the series 1 minifigures (5 at a time) before I decided just to purchase a box on eBay. (I look at it this way.....my time and gas costs me money...so make it simply and pay a bit more without the hassle.) Hopefully series 2 is more plentiful than series 1....since I like series 2 better than series 1. Oh well, good luck on the treasure hunt.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 17:09

Boreders said they would have them next week. i'm going to be on vacation, so does anyone know of any in upper Michigan?

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 17:11

Thanks very much for the 1-800 tip. I called and the (exceptionally nice) lady said they didn't have any at the moment, but I know the two TRUs near me have shipments tomorrow so I'm going to try again then– sooooo much easier than calling individual stores where half the time they don't even know what you're talking about.

She was pretty funny, though... The first thing she said when I told her the number was something along the lines of "Shucks, these things are popular aren't they!" because a bunch of folks had been calling... ;)

My MN friends. I found a 1/2 box at TRU in Maplewood at the front service counter. I didn't ask if they had more in the back. I bought the ringmaster, skier, and cop for my kids. The rest are still there.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 19:17

None at my local TRU in Phoenix AZ. City advent calendar now available at TRU's website.

Posted by Kharavex in United States, 19 Aug 2010 19:20

Manager at W KY TRU told me that the store is getting these as a special shipment via Fed Ex, not a regular truck. I was there yesterday when he received a normal truck containing new Lego sets and advent calendars, but no figs. This morning they had figs at 10:43, I bought a set. Left for home, called friends so they could get some as well. They sold out by noon before they could get there.

Posted by Anomaly24 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 20:14

For those wondering about availability of Wave 1 vs. Wave 2...I was told by someone at my local LEGO store that pre-orders for waves 1 and 2 were made at the same time, so the availability will be the same. Now that they know they have a hit, they'll plan to have a larger stock available for waves 3 and 4.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 19 Aug 2010 20:27

Going to my Local Toys R Us tomorrow to check if they have them tomorrow like they said they would. To those wondering, it's in southern california.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 21:05

@Oboe thank you so much.

Posted by orangelobster in United States, 19 Aug 2010 21:17

I'm gonna call my local tru's (I'm lucky enough to have 5 within a reasonable distance) tomorrow to see if they have any because they get a shipment tomorrow. for series 1 i had to wait a while until one had 1 1/2 boxes left because some guy hit the other 4 and they were sold out in one day. Hopefully this will be different.

@Tervlon actually, some small children stole from me. When i got to the TRU there were packs scattered around the sets and they were throwing them into their parents baskets, so i asked at the desk and they brought out a fresh box. The kids saw and they grabbed them. I ended up only getting 18 packs out of the box but later completed 1 full set after finding them for $2.50 at a closer TRU a couple weeks later. I am very happy and hope to complete another set with the next wave.

@legogirl19 I hope you find them and happy birthday!

If anyone finds them in Michigan can you please tell what city or county or anything. Thanks!
Can someone also tell me if target or walmart had them, because mine didn't know what they were. Thanks!

Posted by brixton in Canada, 19 Aug 2010 21:52

Went out (not looking for Lego) and found some Series 1 still circulating. Urban Behaviour of all places has Series 1 mini-figures for $6 while ToysToysToys has them for $10/minifigure. Ridiculous markups. I hope Wal-Mart and Toys R Us doesn't jack the prices up for Series 2.

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 19 Aug 2010 21:57

Posted by Wookiewarrior23 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 22:32

Don't count on wal-mart getting any of the series 2 minifigs. They were produced at the same level as series 1 and limited to just the Lego stores, borders and toys r us here in the USA. They will be producing larger quantities of series 3 and of course no cheat codes to pick on those.

Posted by Brick114 in United States, 19 Aug 2010 23:09

- Drogerie Müller
- Obletter

- Idee & Spiel

I'm not sure about Toy's R Us but I'll check tomorrow. Besides that, Lucky hunting!
Oh, but not the Lego brand stores they are only aloud to release them September 1st.

Makes me think they are there, but they wont sell them til sept 1st.

Posted by orangelobster in United States, 20 Aug 2010 08:38

@ncbarrett Thanks for the tip, and it sounds to me like you're right! I may try borders to see if the in-store employees know that they cant sell them

Does anyone know if you can preorder them at borders?

And I heard that these are all high quality plastic. Can anyone verify that?

Posted by bigmike2k3 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 09:15

Dumb question... Where should one look for these in their local Borders store? Are they in the LEGO section of the kids area? Or by the registers? Thanks!!

Posted by Morgan19 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 09:18

^ The couple Borders I'd found Series 1 at always had them up front by the registers.

Thanks for the heads up avacadoturban(!) - just popped into my local WHSmith and picked 6 up - Karate dude, Vampire, Mexican, Mime, Pharoah and Spartan. They had 3 boxes in - 2 behind the counter, 1 in the toy section, which was nearly empty already. £1.99 each.

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 09:50

I called 1-800-TOYSRUS asking about the Bloomington, MN store using the part number from @liisadd76 (thanks, btw). The lady said they were to get a big shipment this past Wednesday. She seemed surprised that the estimated date was in the past. I was in there yesterday and didn't see them (didn't bother asking). Earlier in the week when I called the store they said their truck comes in on Friday, but had no idea what would be on the truck. Not sure what to make of it -- anyone see any there yet?

Posted by Tervlon in United States, 20 Aug 2010 09:51

I'm in Northern VA and I called a few of my local TRU about the Series 2 figs. One of the employees was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. He mentioned that these shipments usually come into the port of Long Beach, CA and that the shipments are distributed from the Western to the Eastern US. He mentioned that you can almost track the wave of shipments across the US this way. If he is correct, it would jive that TX and other Western/Midwestern states are starting to see them and that us in the East haven't quite gotten them. I'm sure they'll start popping up here in the next week or so.

I'm still dreading the search. Ugh.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 20 Aug 2010 09:58

@UKver2.0 I have found TRU either get trucks on Thursday, or Wed & Friday.

Does anyone know when these will be on Lego.com? Lego Store Mall of America says they wont have them untill after there online.

Posted by baron22 in United Kingdom, 20 Aug 2010 10:12

Further confirmation that these are available in WH Smith in the UK! I just got mine from WH Smith in Lakeside shopping centre, Thurrock. They were behind the till, but the nice lady let me stand to one side with the box to choose my own with the barcodes. Unfortunately, I made 1 error, so I've got 2 Adventurers and no Disco Stu! :-( Guess I'll be going back when I get the chance!

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 20 Aug 2010 10:32

@Carnigee77 When I called S&H they said before the end of the year, not sure if they could be more vague. lol
Also anyone in Michigan, 1-800-TRU lady said there weren't any stores in the state with them in stock.

Posted by legotrains in United States, 20 Aug 2010 11:36

Today i called a bunch of stores in Austin,TX TRU is going to have them in september so there not here yet *sigh*

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 11:49

Burnsville, MN TRU has them. I tried to get one of each and a few extra Spartans, but in my immense hurry (and no printed bar code sheet) I somehow ended up with 27 figures! Now I'm back at work and I have to sit here the rest of the day wondering what's waiting for me in the car (...did I miss any? ...which ones did I double up on?).

There were two, possibly full, boxes at store opening. No one else came by or seemed to be looking for them.

RE: Android app - I have seen a lot of folks talking about the minifig app. Many of who do not have the android phone and wish they did. I have the HTC Evo android phone, and the mini fig app. It is a great idea, but far from magical

The app is perfect, its application w/ the phone is not. You need perfect lighting condition and any reflection on the barcode while you attempt to scan will throw it off. I got a box of series 1 from ebay and sitting on my couch in pretty good lighting it took me about a minute to finally read one.

For the past decade my local TRU store has chronically been run by toy Nazis that have doled out any popular toys like the fate of the world dangled in the balance. I am sure that I would be throw out of the store by a squad of GeoffreyTroopers if i attempt to scan each package of minifigs. My best bet over the years it to buy whatever I needed and leave as fast as I can before my cart items become labelled the next hot thing to be secured at the front counter from now on.

So, Android App...cool but not practical for scanning. But its visual listing of Barcodes is PERFECT for assisting you in selecting. Personally, I welcome series 3 lack of Barcodes.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 20 Aug 2010 12:24

The Wal-Mart where I found Series 1 earlier in the year doesn't have any Series 2 mini-figures yet. I checked TRU and asked an employee. He said call TRU weekly to see when they're in stock. He said he doesn't expect any of the Series 2 mini-figures to be in stock until September.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 12:36

BTW the iphone has a barcode reader app. that works for reading the barcodes. We used it when series one came out.

The best Android app, The Lego MFI, is now at version 1.6 and includes USA S2 barcodes.

TRU in Dallas, TX limited me to 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only 4!!!!!!!!!!!!! argh!!!!

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 13:38

@jwsmart -- The Eurobricks review (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45317&st=0) has it listed as:

4 Mexicans
3 Spartans
5 Ringmasters
4 Witches
4 Vampires
5 Traffic Cops
3 Jungle Explorers
4 Lifeguards
4 Mime Artists
4 Weightlifters
3 Pop Stars
3 Skiers
3 DJs
5 Karate Masters
3 Surfers
3 Pharaohs

Posted by Wookiewarrior23 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 13:57

It looks like the spartan, dj and skier are 3 to a box. The spartan will most surely be the hottest figure of this series and just like the Zombie from series 1, will be very hard to find unless you can find some full boxes.

Posted by i like guitars in United States, 20 Aug 2010 14:10

I kind of hope they limit the number you can buy at my stores in Ca. last time a guy bought 2 series 1 boxes out of the 4 available and it was the second store he hit up.

Posted by skaforhire in United States, 20 Aug 2010 14:28

@Bluecone65 - Wow, I went to a few of the Dallas TRUs, and couldn't find them yesterday. Talked to one of the employees and they assured me they had already sold out at one of them! The other , they all seemed clueless. Which TRU did you get limited at? I would be happy to get just four at this point! Did you get them today? Debating that drive, as I am in Fort Worth. The TRU over here did not have them either, and I had a friend go to Arlington and ask the same questions - no luck.

Posted by 1265 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 14:44

@skaforhier - The TRU in Lewisville, TX has them. They had two half-full boxes at customer service checkout. I asked if there was a limit....the employee said 5 to 10. He radioed his supervisor and the supervisor said, "no limit." Nonetheless, I only bought 10 packs since I have a box on pre-order.

Posted by joedapoboy in United States, 20 Aug 2010 14:45

I just got back to school, and away from my TRU (Metairie) but my awesome mom went and checked for me: they had 34 bags, so she scooped them all up: I got 15/16 (missing the surfer) plus an extra weightlifter and blackbelt: my little sisters divvied up the pop stars and lifeguards, my brother took a mariachi and a blackbelt... saving other extras for a buddy. Success! but I still gotta get that surfer...

@Voypro, RE: Android App. - That sucks that your phone isnt working good with the barcode scanner.

I personally have the HTC Desire and taking pictures of barcodes is sooooo easy and fast, I keep showing off how I can scan barcodes of books, ect and price check it on Amazon. Ya, Im a geek, but I wouldent be here if I wasent.

But like you said, at the very least having all the info and a nice fancy checklist in the phone is SWEET.

BTW-- No luck here in Illinois---YET! I'm keeping my eyes peeled though!

Congrats to all of you lucky ducks that have found your "treasures"!!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 20:14

The problem I have with our local Lego store is it is 20 miles from me (give or take a few miles) and so, I don't have the time to keep running over there all the time. Plus last time they limited it to 5 per person per day. Just like Lego.com did. My local TRU has specific delivery days and is only 1 mile from me, so I can get there quickly. They also said they could hold 10-20 for me if I wanted to call first. As for the sharing of the booty. I wouldn't mind too much I only want a few characters ( karate kid, pharaoh, mime, mexican and disco stu). I am at the verge of buying them on Ebay though if we miss out on them again.

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 20 Aug 2010 23:23

@wildcherryp3psi: see my earlier post - all you need to do to find out if there will be minifigs at the store when you get there on Tues is to call 1-800-TOYSRUS before they open, ask for a land-based specialist to check the store inventory using the item number for the figs: 587572. Then, hopefully it won't be a wasted trip!

Wow, there seem to be a lot of us on this board in the DFW area... Anyway, I ended up getting frustrated and buying a box from ebay... I am not really into selling the ones I don't want on ebay, so I would entertain straight trades Spartans or mariachis for any of the other figures from the box (Although I will be keeping one of each for my collection). I will still be looking for some more spartans, and gladly will pick up other types if I find them for other people in the area.

does anybody know if there in MN or WI.the TRU in Lacrosse,WI has the worst information about series 2.

Posted by beefygrefe in United States, 21 Aug 2010 13:31

@legoGUY100, it looks like the TRU's that had them in the twin cities are all sold out (but we did get them). You could always try Rochester, MN if you're looking for a road trip but I'm not sure if they get enough total sales to get minis right away. For series 1, they didn't get any until it was 2-3 weeks after the larger stores got theirs. The bigger problem is that stores seem to sell out of these the same day they show up.

Looks like you will be able to complete 3 sets of the minifigs per box. I still have not spotted any at wal-mart or target here in the dallas area. Also, seems like the toys r us stores are a hit and miss with some even limiting the number of figures you can buy. Check your local borders too even though their 2.99 price point is high.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 21 Aug 2010 15:22

Borders sells them for $3 each? Wow.

Posted by Jayr17 in United States, 21 Aug 2010 16:37

Went to Kansas City last night and found them at the big ToysRUs outside the Great Mall of the Great Plains. They only had one box at the registers but they didn't mind when we whipped out the Barcodes and picked through them. We were able to get Mr. Maraca, the Pop Singer, the Ring Master, the Surfer, and by accident the Witch (thought I picked up Pharroh but must have switched them in my hand). The bar codes are a bit harder to match on the blue packs (series 2) than on the yellow (series 1). We will try to check the TRU accross from Oak Park mall today if possible.

Anybody found figs at the TRU in Hurst,TX? I called but they did not have a clue what Lego Minifigures were. Same answer with 1-800-TOYSRUS.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 21 Aug 2010 18:37

Everybody I talk to at TRU over the phone keeps mentioning "Collectable Toy Story Minifigures" when I ask... What should I do to find them?(Series 2, not Toy Story)

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 21 Aug 2010 19:18

@jlegofan: No one in the brick and mortar stores will have any idea what you are talking about usually. I tried that this time around and, like you, they thought I was talking about Toy Story. Without an item number, you are out of luck. Look at my earlier post for information about using the item number to locate them in your local store before you go...this is how I found two boxes at the Cedar Park, TX Toysrus.

Posted by jlegofan in United States, 21 Aug 2010 19:30

I gave them the item number for the box... is that the right one? Because the person on the phone line for 1-800-TOYSRUS couldn't pick anything up with the box number.

Thanks Liisadd76. My family son and grandson thank you for posting the information on how to locate them.

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 21 Aug 2010 23:23

@jlegofan: I don't know what item number you gave, but I gave the lady on the phone the item number 587572. The first person who answers the phone at 1-800-TOYSRUS won't be any help to you because they can only search the internet. They will not find this item number because these minifigs aren't being sold on the toysrus.com website yet. You have to specifically ask for a "land-based specialist" who will use the Item Number to search the inventory of the individual stores in your area using your zip code. It is best to call before the store opens, on a day that you know the store gets their trucks. Hope you find them!

I think that instead of calling every single TRU's store in the country (waiting 30 mins for them to answer the phone) we should be calling The LEGO Company. They should be able to tell us when and where the product will be availabe. That is what customer service is about!

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 23 Aug 2010 14:09

@lego8x8 - no LEGO just says they'll be released before the end of the year. not very helpful.

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 15:15

@lego8x8 -- I imagine that Lego ships to TRU warehouses and it's on TRU to get the stuff out to the stores which means LEGO would have no idea when your local store is getting them. Meanwhile, calling 1-800-TOYSRUS and asking about item number 587572 per liisadd76's instructions works for finding out how many each store in your area currently has as well as when they expect more.

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:01

Or as I was informed by 1-800-TOYSRUS earlier today, they are now on the website!
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4403308&CAWELAID=585620589
You all can thank me later!!! Just Kidding!! I would also like to add that there is NO LIMIT!!!

Posted by Wookiewarrior23 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:04

The customer service reps at the Lego company are usually very nice and quite knowledgable but please don't expect them to know when your local stores might be getting series 2. I was advised by someone at the Dallas northpark Lego store that they should be available later in September. My guess is next week sometime after the first of September.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:05

To all my peeps in Phoenix AZ they have them at the Lego store in Chandler. They are $1.99 and they are limiting them to 5 per person per day. We were able to get 15 (was with hubby and son). I got 11 of 16 characters. Got 4 duplicates. I am missing the Spartan, vampire, mime witch and lifeguard. I am checking TRU tomorrow!!!! Woohoo.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:08

Thanks for the link.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:21

Just bought 18 on TRU website. They are $1.99 each plus tax and shipping. Again thanx to Legogirl19.

Posted by Brick114 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:25

I called 1-800-toysrus about the local inventory but they were like, huh?, and advised me to call the store itself. I've no idea when I can buy them in VA

Posted by 1265 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:41

@legogirl19 - Thanks for the heads-up. Went and ordered 60. Kinda hoping they ship 60 loose packages instead of a box just to make it more of a mystery to see what I get.

Posted by quaffapint in United States, 23 Aug 2010 16:50

Argh - Called 800 Number twice, went through the same process as above - asking to search local store inventory, and they never ask me a zip code and tell me that product isn't even out yet. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I specifically ask to search local stores, and not the website. I would buy them on the website, but then you might get 10 of the same or whatever. Thanks everyone for the info, though.

Just placed an order for my minifigures! Thanks legogirl19!!!
My lugmates and I are very appreciative.

Posted by MCNwakeboard in United Kingdom, 23 Aug 2010 17:10

@Brick114 I'm in the NOVA area and was able to talk to a TRU employee when I was at the store in Sterling last Friday. They looked up information in the computer and told me that it was in the warehouse and would most likely hit stores soon. She said a truck was coming Wednesday morning that would probably have them but to call to verify.
BIG THANKS!!! for the TRU.com post. As much as I love hunting for them, it is nice to know they are on their way...

Posted by lego8x8 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 17:22

@legogirl19 = You rock! Thanks for the info. I have been checking the website everyday for the last month. I even checked last night (1am) and nothing. Thanks!

Posted by sidersdd in United States, 23 Aug 2010 17:55

How do you go about getting the TRU item number for a product?

Posted by nandel in United States, 23 Aug 2010 18:01

@legogirl19 = seems like you're the hero of the day! Thanks for the heads up. I just put in my order and i'm praying I get the complete set out of 23 bags. Thanks again!

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 23 Aug 2010 18:11

Thanks Legogirl19!!! I ordered mine, hopefully they send me a complete minifigure box and not just 60 packs in a shipping box.. Shipping is free as well if you buy enough....
This saves me from having to go into thunderdome with someone at a TRU for a physical box...lol

Posted by blueclone65 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 18:13

woohoo....got my order in.....so happy!

Posted by collectormom in United States, 23 Aug 2010 18:57

The Lego Store in the Palisades Mall in NY has the minifigures. They also just got the Advent Calendar

Posted by shoobathelemur in United States, 23 Aug 2010 19:10

Did anybody order series one online? I just bought 20 on TRU.com and I'm curious what kind of mix to expect. I suppose it would be between 8 and 14 different ones depending on my luck.

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 19:12

I would also like to add news that I, too, have found them in my local Lego store today, and the limit was 16! I was very surprised to see them there already, I had been told Sept. 1st! The store employee also had told me that they had just received them today and there were only a few left! YAY!!!

Posted by MCNwakeboard in United Kingdom, 23 Aug 2010 19:14

The link has been the only way that I have been able to find the minifigures on ToysRUs.com. I tried multiple queries and nothing came up for the link. Thanks again!

Posted by quaffapint in United States, 23 Aug 2010 19:32

Called the King of Prussia, PA Lego store and was told they got 1,000 in and all were sold out within a few hours. They said with the 16 limit policy (vs the 5 of last time) means they won't be in the Lego stores very long at all.

I just ordered 20 from the ToysRUs site, just to be safe. Thanks for the link. We'll keep checking TRU B&M stores as well.

Posted by xena6296 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 19:51

@legogirl19: Thanks for the link, just ordered mine.

Posted by vwong19 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 19:59

thank you legogirl19 for the TRU link. i'm hoping 60 will equal at least one complete set (free shipping)... i don't have to wait for So CA to get their shipment in now.

Posted by atmail35 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 20:13

It's too bad shipping at TRU is only free over $100, last week it was $75. Go through fatwallet.com or ebates.com and you can earn 1-2% back. That helps if you are buying a lot to offset some of the cost...although not much!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 20:32

I hope that some of us can trade if we get doubles. I like that better than the ebay or craiglist route.

Posted by liisadd76 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 20:49

@legogirl19: Thanks for the info about the toyrus website!

I was at the Lego store in Austin at Barton Creek Mall (where they got their first shipment in today!) and they put a limit of 5 - ugh! That was OK, as I was only there buying the last four that my children wanted, as a surprise for after the first day of school.

Posted by danthaman11 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 20:52

Thank you for sharing the Toys R Us link for the minifigs. No limits and at $1.99 each is great, I was able to order 60 and get free shipping. Hopefully I'll get a box or at least the same distribution as seen in a box. It would not be cool to get 60 lion tamers. I live in a high cost area and my brick and mortar TRU's always have the markup and I completey expected them to have them at $2.49 when they got them in stock. I wonder how long they will last on the website before they are marked up or limits are put on.

Posted by podgi237 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 21:41

And it appears TRU website is now out of stock of them...

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 21:43

that was fast.

Posted by ObiSeanLegobi in United States, 23 Aug 2010 22:16

I first heard about it at around 10:40 am PST, and they sold out around 7:40 pm, so it wasn't that fast... With no limit imposed by TRU.com, I thought they would only last 30 minutes LOL! Glad I already got my order confirmed. :)

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 23 Aug 2010 22:18

Me too!!! Hope I get the 5 figures I am looking for....

Posted by wildcherryp3psi in United States, 23 Aug 2010 23:20

@ starfire2, thanks for the heads up about the Chandler store having Series 2.
2 x Spartans
2 x Weight Lifters
2 x Traffic Cops
2 x Pop Singers (one to give to my wife)
1 x Pharoah
1 x Disco Dude
1 x Skier
1 x Ringmaster
1 x Explorer
1 x Judoka
1 x Surfer
1 x Witch

I was able to use my barcode cheat sheet, take home 16 minifigures and helped other customers pick out specific figures they wanted. Chandler store is always very helpful and friendly!

Yay, the quest to complete my Seroes 2 set is almost over, just gotta wait for the ones my mum got me from the UK.

Posted by izziebitt in United States, 23 Aug 2010 23:57

i bought a full set at the lego store in northbrook il.

Posted by pizzicato in United States, 24 Aug 2010 01:46

legogirl19 - Thank you sooooooo much for the link!!!

It was a good thing that I came to this site and saw the TRU order link. I was debating if I should order or not, but I remember how hard it was with Series 1, so I immediately placed my order. I would've been so upset if I waited and it's now out of stock. My local TRU sold series 1 for $2.49 and last time they limited to 2 each! I'm pretty sure they'll limit series 2 as well in the store.

Posted by GV357 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 01:58

Lego Store at Roosevelt Mall in Long Island, NY had some left over at closing as I was the last customer of the day. I was able to get every minifig except the Spartan! The Spartan was #1 on my list :(
I ordered 25 on TRU.com before I found out the local lego store had them. Debating canceling my order to buy some discontinued AGENT sets, but if anybody who missed out wants these extras, i'm happy to share.

Side note - figure quality feels very cheap. Lighter colors printed on darker base torsos look pretty bad too, i.e. Pop Singer and Lifeguard. Still awesome though, just not sure I want 25 extras.

Also my Karate Kid fighting my Ninja is great. Disco Stu's chest hair is best detail ever.

Minnesotans -- Did the Lego Store at MOA get them?

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 24 Aug 2010 08:54

Wow, Roosevelt Field's got 'em! Thanks for the tip GV357. I ordered a bunch yesterday thanks to legogirl19's tip here on Brickset. Can't wait for them to come in. This takes the whole hunt concept and frustrations (gas, time and money) along with it. Even ordered enough for my LUG mates so they don't have to go through the same hardships we went through for series 1.

I tried to order online a 3am and the site was totally down then.

So just talked to a toysrus "land based specialist", she knew the item number already before I even asked, they must be getting a lot of calls, but she said NO store has them yet. I am thinking that they have issued a new policy on these. . . .we'll see.

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 24 Aug 2010 11:27

S@H said no one was suppose to put them out, not even lego stores.
SO maybe some calls are being made.
They may dry up til sept 1st.

Posted by legomoe74 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 11:53

Just got a whole box from my local TRU. Haven't really sorted them yet but I did sort a full set. Good luck on your hunt.

Posted by podgi237 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 12:05

@izziebitt - when did you get them from Northbrook?

Posted by blueclone65 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 12:30

I just scored 99 of them at TRU in Irving TX.
Spoke with the customer service person there. She said they have over 10,000 sitting in the warehouse but they have only been getting two boxes at a time.

Posted by voypro in United States, 24 Aug 2010 13:36

I bought 48 at Lexington KY toy r us for $2.99, same day they went on sale at website (at nearly same time) for $1.99, I went back to my store for price adjustment to website price. Manager said they did not price match their own website.

I called and made a complaint to the 800-TRU, someone supposed to return my call.

How much are you USA TRU buyers paying for Ser2 (and where)?

Posted by Tervlon in United States, 24 Aug 2010 13:46

I'm hearing rumors of them showing up in No. VA. I haven't been able to get out of work to get them though! :)

Posted by orangelobster in United States, 24 Aug 2010 14:26

All my stores say they don't think they are getting them but i think they're talking about series 1. Has any one found them in Michigan yet?

Posted by ncbarrett in United States, 24 Aug 2010 14:27

@voypro: most websites are usually are a separate division or even company from the brick and mortar stores.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 14:30

@voyrpo you had to pay $2.99!?Isn`t that`s more than in Canada!

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 14:51

no in canada you have to pay $2.99 at tru, and the lego store

Posted by podgi237 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 14:59

I went to the Northbrook, IL Lego store as told by izziebitt and got myself a full set. They allow you to get 16. They currently had 2 mostly-full boxes open and claimed they had 2 full boxes in back in case anyone lives near the northern Chicago burbs.

Posted by izziebitt in United States, 24 Aug 2010 15:32

@podgi237 whick guy were you? im the dark haired girl that was working at the northbrook store today.

Posted by brixton in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 16:11

You can get them at Wal-Mart in Canada for $2.86. Not much of a price difference but it adds up to almost $5 over 32 mini-figures over 2 series.

Posted by cota75 in United States, 24 Aug 2010 16:25

Lego Store in Santa Clara, CA has them for $1.99. Limit is 16

TRU in Pinole, CA (SF Bay Area) has them behind the counter and limited to 1 (that's right one!!!!) per customer. I didn't even bother buying one. I'll look elsewhere.

Just got back from Toys R Us in Grand Rapids, MI. I was able to get all of the figures I wanted plus two extras!

There was no limit, but they were selling them for $2.99. All well...they're worth every cent!

Thanks so much for the info liisadd76 (the guy at 1-800-ToysRUs was extremely helpful and friendly) and everyone who posted the barcode sheets!

Posted by skaforhire in United States, 26 Aug 2010 13:42

I bought from TRU online, and they canceled my order four days later???? Weird - since they claim they ship within two days, you would have thought that they would have known sooner that they would have to cancel it. BTW, I ordered 60.... Did anyone else have this problem?

Posted by BRICKDAD in United States, 26 Aug 2010 16:38

I just bought a complete box of 60 from bricklink.com for $135.00 US shipped! That's $2.25 each!

We should all stop supporting TRU and others who decide to jack up the prices. Just type in "minifigure series 2" on bricklink. The store belonging to "Toms Brickstore" is who I bought from. Plus this way you are guaranteed to get 3 sets. You must buy at least 1 box to get them. You cannot buy less than 1 box of 60.

I am tired of calling TRU weekly and the employees saying "uhhhhh I don't know".

Heres a Denver Metro update. Park Meadows is not sure if and when they will get them. Aurora said in two weeks and Westminster say they just sold out in a day and will be expecting more. Toysrus.com is still out of stock and I called two people that are land based specialist and they say the product is unavailable. I even went through with the ladies all the possible numbers. One didn't know why so many people were calling and after explaining how rare these things were she got a good laugh at her new found enlightenment. I ordered almost all of the figures 2 weeks ago from Germany off Bricklink and they are nice but like the majority of us want the Spartan for an army. One thing i'm disappointed in is the yellow print paint on the Lifeguards chest. It's a dirty yellow since the red torso was the base and yellow printed on top of that makes it look that way. BTW, just called Lego Colorado Mills and they had them last week, there not getting them this week and not sure about next week. Lego.com will get them on Sept 1st. and there limited 16 per person like its been written before.

Just ordered 16 on the Lego website last night, will get a random assortment, with doubles and possibly triples of some, and none of others....but our closest TRU is an hour and a half drive away, AND they sell ALL of their Legos at 5% OVER MSRP...lame. Who knows how much they jacked up the price of the minifigs. I wish they had them at Target...
