has anyone seen them in calgary?

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 14:15

Hurray! Finally I can get them! I've been heading to my local Wal-Mart several times, hoping they were there (just last Thursday I went to Wal-Mart).

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 14:26

Yup My walmart confirmed their availability :)

Posted by exo-man in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 14:56

Has anyone seen them on Vancouver Island yet?? I never found the Series 1 on the Island too!

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 16:21

@exo-man: good to find a neighbor :-)
Lanford is going to have them in september

Posted by tedward in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 18:26

Hey exo-man! Some of us found Series 1 at the Walmart in Langford and after a while Kaboodles downtown got a couple of boxes. The Uptown Walmart was in the process of moving and is still not totally moved in so they may or may not get series 2. Langford is your best bet. Let us know if you spot them: http://www.viclug.ca.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 20:35

Has anyone seen them in Vancouver? I might go to Walmart tomorrow so wish me luck! lol

Posted by roninbishop in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 20:37

Walmart in Halifax NS has them! Just sorted through 1 1/2 boxes and found the complete set :-) :-)

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 21:09

if i can add to tedward, TRU in mayfair had it one month after it was released everywhere, but was gone in a day...also cherrybomb toys are selling them opened for 5 bucks....hope that helps to anyone in vancouver island!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 22:25

Any one know how much it will be for a box of sixty? Will it be $2.86 x 60= $171.60 CAD or will the box be cheaper than buying one by one? lol

Posted by timeo in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 22:48

No Series 2 at North Vancouver Wal-Mart this evening. I did find some Series 1 downtown at Urban Oufitters for $6 each though.

Posted by Lego Minifig Man in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 23:25

Yes! Woo hoo! Althought they didn't have them at my local one when series 1 was out.. hmm, I'll have to check...

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 21 Aug 2010 23:51

lol why would a place that sells clothes have lego???

Posted by brixton in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 07:06

I checked 3 Wal Marts in my area yesterday and 1 TRU. No mini-figures. It's either they haven't arrived in my part of the country yet or the sold out as soon as they were put on the shelves.

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 09:31

I wouldn't check TRU for anything new. I've went twice to my TRU already and didn't find CM's. Once when I went, I saw the staff sorting through the last 3 CM Series 1! Even the staff wanted them. I guess they have a better advantage if they work there.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 11:49

tru's won't get them until sept 1

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 13:01

I went to Wal-Mart and Zellers this morning, and sadly, none of them had them. Oh well. Guess I'll go back to Wal-Mart September 10th.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 14:11

you can always call your local walmart.

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 14:25

I'll try that next time. I seem to always have Charlie Brown luck with Lego.

Posted by exo-man in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 18:53

Good to know that there are other Brickset members on the island :D
Anyways, thanks for the info, I'll check them out ASAP!
By the way, does anyone know how much a full box costs?

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 22 Aug 2010 20:38

I just came back from Walmart and no luck. :(

Posted by Sword2211 in United States, 22 Aug 2010 22:23

You guys can get a pack a lot cheaper than 2.86 each over at bricklink

Posted by Lego Minifig Man in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 09:26

I checked my local Wal-Mart. No luck! They didn't have them before, so I really wasn't that surprised to see that they didn't have them. Oh well, have to go back to that other store that had them before... (Haha, a rhyme!)

Posted by didgeboy in United States, 23 Aug 2010 10:03

When you have found them at WalMart, are they at the toy isle or at the registers?

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 12:51

they were in the toy isle.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 16:01

i just got back from my local walmart in calgary, and they had two boxes worth of them, they were out of there boxes at the begining of the isle with the tiny turbos, i bought three spartians, and every other one, but i ended up with two pharohs, and no ring master!

Posted by hailwind-0 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 16:02

Just came back from Walmart. Woo-hoo! Series 2 has arrived in Vancouver!! They had 4 boxes, just like last time.

Posted by steeplejacks in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 16:48

Last Friday I went to walmart in Ontario, Canada and they were out on the shelf. I scanned them and nothing came up. The kid working in toys saw me going througth them, said they shouldn't be out yet, but that I could buy a few so I whipped out my barcode sheet and proceeded to scoop up vampires and spartans before he took them to the back. Not only that, He said he didn't know the price and sold them to me for $2. Walmart for ya...

Posted by brixton in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 18:35

That is an awesome story. I wish I was that lucky. So they do have them they just haven't put them out yet. I checked two more Wal-Marts today and nothing.

Posted by Jito in Belgium, 23 Aug 2010 18:40

Not really relevant but: I spotted them at the Lego-store in Cologne, Germany!

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 19:26

R4, how are you so on top of this? I just checked two wal-marts in Calgary, and none. Not even empty boxes.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 19:29

@hailwind-o - woah in VANCOUVER?!?!?! which store?????

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 20:02

call the walmart: 403-235-2352
but do not post which walmart this is.

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 21:24

There are still a good 40-50 bags there. I grabbed a full set, and an extra vampire, witch, and Mexican. Was looking for Spartans too but at least found one.

Posted by powerpig in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 21:43

Was at the Halifax Walmart earlier this evening. Still lots of minifigs left, but the Spartans have been cleared out. Every last one of 'em.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 22:05

Wow looks like the Spartan minifg is really popular... now I just need to know which Vancouver store has the minfigures...

Posted by hailwind-0 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 22:33

Sorry, brankell, logged off brickset for a bit. The figs were at the Surrey Walmart. Just in case they're gone, I would suggest you check the other walmarts as often as you can, they should be getting them in too.
BTW, Yeah, I think the spartans are really popular, there was only two left when I got there...

Posted by otter in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 22:37

Just checked at a local Wal-Mart in Vancouver (Lougheed) after work, and all I found was one empty box of minifigs...and it was ripped apart. Wonder how often and when they ship and stock the items. I will have to keep trying I guess..!!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 22:52

wow thanks! Im gonna ask if I could go there, but by now I guess they'll be sold out. I ususally go to the Walmart in New Wesminster... But no luck, :(

Posted by hailwind-0 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 23:06

Re:otter - "Wonder how often and when they ship and stock the items." - Well, from what I saw with series 1, they got one shipment in and that was it. But if they do have more in stock, they could stock it any night, check as often as you can and preferably in the morning.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 23 Aug 2010 23:12

Aww it sucks... and if you order is from LEGO Shop @ Home they might send you 5 of the same minifigure like series one ... I probably will not ever have a chance at getting these minifigures... :( But congrats for those who did!

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 00:47

People in vancouver island: Get ready to go to TRU in mayfair because I caught a glimpse of em! Unfortunately they refused to sell any until Sept 1st :-(

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 01:07

LEGO has several times said that this series of figures would be more widely available - I wonder why they still seem to be in small shipments. Supposedly the Series 1 was a pilot project to convince the marketing people they were a worthwhile idea - I suspect they have been well convinced. I hope each store gets more shipments after this one.

And hi to all other Victorians! Thanks for the tip about TRU in Mayfair; I'll certainly have to head over there.

Posted by hailwind-0 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 01:52

Hey otter, my friend just called me from Lougheed walmart, he said they put 3 new boxes out, 2 still unopened, get there as soon as you can!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 02:25

Woah looks like lots of Walmarts in Vancouver has the minifigures except the on in New Westminster :( Im going to go check in a few days.

Posted by rcaddy in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 10:27

I was told yesterday at a Calgary Walmart that they would not be there for 2-3 weeks. I ignored their advice and stopped again this morning and found several boxes sitting out!

Posted by otter in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 11:32

@ hailwind-0: Many thanks for your info - I found them exactly how you described! :-) There were 3 boxes total and one of them was open and nearly full. I haven't opened any of the ones that I got yet, but hope I picked them alright.
@ brankell5566 and anyone else who is looking for Series 2 around the Vancouver area: Try the Lougheed one when you can, hopefully sooner, before it is sold out again.

Finding Collectable Minifigs is like some sort of national competition...GOSH!! Though, it is great & sweet sharing info with everyone who has a common goal. Good luck for those who are hunting for Collectable Minifigs!!

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 12:07

there is another store in calgary that has them other than walmart and tru and i'm not telling!

Posted by timeo in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 12:39

@otter & hailwind-o: I went to Lougheed Wal-mart this morning but couldn't find them. The staff said they hadn't seen them. Any idea where in the store they are? I spent 20 minutes wandering the aisles...

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 13:05

Thanks @Otter! Yea I would really like to go the the Walmart in Lougheed but im just a kid and my parents are always working... It would be nice to just SEE a box of minifigures but bad chance for that lol. Good luck to everyone! :D

Posted by otter in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 14:05

@ timeo: I believe it was at the LEGO section of the toy aisle (sorry, can't remember the aisle #) close to the entrance inside of the mall. The boxes were next to the CITY products. Hope this helps.

Posted by timeo in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 14:25

@ otter: Thanks! I was at the Lougheed/Grandview Highway and Boundry store. That will explain it then!

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 15:56

Any sightings in the Ontario area?

Posted by brixton in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 16:07

@ I like Lego: Yes. I just bought the entire set from Wal-Mart. They had two boxes. They are NOT in the Lego section at the Wal-Mart I went to. I found them in the action figure part of the toy section. Also, someone from Ontario is selling the entire set for $85 on Kijiji. Since Wal-Mart is just starting to put them on their shelves I would suggest getting them from there since you can get the entire set much more cheaply. $51.71 from Wal-Mart with tax versus $85 on Kijiji and that doesn't include tax and shipping and handling. I messed up the bar codes and ended up getting two duplicates.

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 16:35

Thanks Brixton! Maybe my Charlie Brown luck is over...

Posted by steeplejacks in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 18:37

Hi, I have 4 boxes at my local store and they've been sitting there all day. I'd like to help out you collectors but I don't want everybody emailing me, so if someone knows how to communicate through this board privately, let me know. They are 2.86 each with tax. so if you're only looking for one or two I could mail them to you in Canada sealed for $8 (costs $2.27 to mail plus $1 for a bubble mailer and a couple bucks for my time). Let me know if I can help anyone. Maybe you want a set!

Posted by sarcastigirl in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 18:46

@steeplejacks: where is your store?

Posted by suckerpunch83 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 19:00

The Walmart in Burlington, Ont. (Fairwiew St.) had them yesterday. I managed to get all 16.
There were around 30 or so left.
Happy hunting!

Posted by steeplejacks in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 19:21

Sarnia, Ontario Wal Mart has them. Does that help you or anyone?

Posted by a-corb in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 19:56

For those in the Vancouver area. Keep your eyes on the TRUs and Chapters stores in the weeks to come. They got series 1 shortly after Walmart did. The smaller toy stores got them a week or two after that. Happy hunting. oh and has anyone else found their Mexican had a chewed up head? My Adventurer is missing part of his mustache aswell.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 20:05

Jut came back from the Walmart in New Westminster BC, Still no sign of the minifigures... :(

Posted by sarcastigirl in Canada, 24 Aug 2010 20:12

I feel so despate for these mingifigures... I just wish I can get my hands on at least one of them.

Posted by exo-man in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 16:18

@ Sarcastigirl - There are a few of us on the island, some said to look at the Walmart in Langford.
Hope that helps.

Posted by sarcastigirl in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 18:04

@exo-man - We've been checking Walmart in Langford (either in person or by phone) daily, no luck yet. :(

Posted by Toys N Bricks in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 19:46

@ brankell5566 - Both the Vancouver and New Westminster location still do not have them yet. Meanwhile, the Burnaby location just got 4 boxes yesterday but are all sold out on that day. However, we have been told that the the Surrey location in 88th Avenue still has them.

For more information on Wal-Mart availability, please check this link (http://toysnbricks.com/blog/can-lego-minifigures-series-2-more-news).

Posted by brixton in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 20:00

@ a-corb: The head for my Mexican minifigure appears to be fine. My Adventurer's mustache is intact too so it's not a widespread problem with all the minifigures of that type. Sorry to hear your minifigures aren't in mint condition. Hopefully you can get them replaced.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 20:31

Thanks @Toys N Bricks! I go to your site daily for the latest news on LEGO! But do you have any information if the New Westminster store will ever get at leats a couple of boxes of minifigures?

Posted by Toys N Bricks in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 20:51

@ brankell5566 - From what we've been told, all Wal-Marts should get them eventually. Since the New Westminister store have not receive any yet, you should call them everyday at 7 A.M. Good luck!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 20:56

@Toys N Bricks - Thank you so much for the help and the tips! Im curios if you called the New Westminster store to give me the right answer? By the way my name on your website is Legobrandon! Thanks again for the help I really appreciated it!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 25 Aug 2010 21:12

I just called the New Westminster store and they had no Idea what i was talking about, but they said a delivery truck is supposed to be there in 3-4 days. Does anyone know what im supposed to say if I call and ask them but they have no idea???? I dont have the walmart item number for the collectible minifigures because it is not listed on the website if you do have an exact item number please tell me! thanks!

Posted by a-corb in Canada, 26 Aug 2010 16:35

Hey this may help when you call- The number that came up on my receipt is 067341913048. Happy hunting.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 26 Aug 2010 16:53

@a-corb thanks for that!

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 26 Aug 2010 17:10

Just called New Westminster again, and I asked them to transfer me to the "Toys" department and when a lady answerd I asked about the minifigures, and she was like I have no idea and just hung up... :( She had like no manners at all...

Posted by a-corb in Canada, 26 Aug 2010 19:46

brankell5566-Next time ask for her name first. They think twice about being rude when you know their name.

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 26 Aug 2010 19:51

I think she said it but she had like an indian accent so i couldnt really understand...

Posted by hailwind-0 in Canada, 27 Aug 2010 04:29

Posted by Jango_Fett_A in Canada, 27 Aug 2010 21:54

Which Wal-Mart locations in Calgary are you finding the series 2 minifigs in? I have looked at the one in SW Calgary right on Macleod Trail and one down in Shawnessy/ Midnapore and haven't found any.

Any info is appreciated!

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 27 Aug 2010 22:14

Jango, Macleod is the only one that Ive seen that has had them. Im on the move in my job so I go to the NW Locations (royal oak/northland/deerfoot) on a daily basis and no sign of them there, they dont even have a space for it on there planning sheets that they hang on the aisles for there employee's.

Series One never showed up at them last time around either.

R4-G9 seems to have the scoop (or he just gets around more than me) on where they show up, but he is secretive so no one steals his spartan army lol j/k.

But seriously, If I find them, I will post where I see them, the minute I see them from my Android phone. But based on how it went for Series One, dont hold your breath..

P.S. How did you find this site? (just curious if any of the people I've talked too at TRU's actually came here)

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 27 Aug 2010 23:35

i only found out where they were by calling the walmarts, the ones in the nprth west will most likely not be getting them in, and the walmart in airdre has them, but they have no spartans, the lego store had 11 boxes, and they sold out in three days with the 16 per person limit, and the lego store has the advent calenders, for $39.99 each.

Posted by Jango_Fett_A in Canada, 27 Aug 2010 23:44

I guess I could go back and check the Macleod location again. Thanks for the info!!!
I have had my account here for a while - I just haven't ever used it.

Posted by Jaladir in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 01:12

Found the minifigs in Edmonton, got 1 of 4 boxes, plus a few extra Spartans and Pharohs

Posted by brankell5566 in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 01:55

I just came back from New West and got my share of the minifigures. They were sold out of the Spartans though :( But there's probably around 150-200 packages left? Thanks again @Hailwind-o for the heads up! :)

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 08:55

I'm only allowed to go to Wal-Mart once a week now. I used that chance on Sunday. I'm gonna go to a Wal-Mart in Ontario and see if they have them. Hopefully my Charlie Brown luck doesn't come back.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 09:18

im going to a walmart in ontario today to see a movie.Im going to be checking all of the walmarts and TRUs because i am hoping to get the only one i am missing...the vampire

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 14:21

I wouldn't trust TRU to have anything on time. I've gone to TRU for new things in the past, and they've never had them. I'm hoping to go to a my local Wal-Mart supercenter near the Cineplex Odeon.

Posted by Tzi in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 18:48

Has anyone seen the serie 2 in Montreal so far? I've called a couple of WalMart but they couldn't say when they'll be on the shelves...

By the way if some of you are still looking for series 1, the Omer Deserre on Jean Talon has the equivalent of a full box priced at $2.99 each.

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 28 Aug 2010 20:17

they have them again, they have 8 boxes worth! no spartans. They have two spartans hidden by me with squidmans escape!

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 08:52

When I go tomorrow, I'll remember to get Spartans first.

Posted by LeGoB12A21 in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 11:46

Didn`t find any last night in Ont. The Wal Mart employees knew what i was talking about though

Posted by Jango_Fett_A in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 12:03

Hold on R4-G9, EIGHT boxes at the Macleod Trail Wal-Mart in South Calgary? Or is this another Wal-Mart?

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 14:37

no the walmart was in marlbroulgh mall and i went their earlyer in the week had eight boxes worth of minifigs, but only four boxes, they were with the lego, and they were spred throughout the isle.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 16:14

this might interest a few people, S@H south korea still has collectable minifigures series 1, limit of 16......

Posted by brixton in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 18:07

Earlier this week ToysToysToys still had series 1. I found the cheerleader (one of the three figures I don't have) based on the bar codes but didn't buy it since the price is still $10/pack.

Posted by I like Lego in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 18:14

10$ a pack?! Whoever put up the price probably is mentally insane. That's uping the price 233 1/3% (Two hundred thirty-three and a third percent).

P.S: Did anybody happen to go to a Wal-Mart near a Cineplex Odeon movie theater to buy CM's?

Posted by Shijima in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 19:15

On bricklink $10 seems to be the average price for Spartans.
I just went and picked those 2 Spartans @ Walmart R4. If i find you. I will kiss you, or not.. but The sentiment is there.

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 29 Aug 2010 21:28

For those in Victoria, Wal-Mart Langford had them today but as of just a few minutes ago are sold out. Maybe they'll restock?
I was impressed that one of the employees remembered me from when Series 1 was out when she saw my barcode sheet... :-)

Posted by sarcastigirl in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 00:39

@J1A3L5 really?? when did they have them?? I was in there three times today and didn't see them! I spoke to a manager this evening who said they hadn't received them yet.

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 01:05

It was posted to VicLUG last night, and I picked them up right after opening this morning - Myself and a fellow LUG member were there ~8:15 and left about 9:00 and no one else come and taken any until then...I wouldn't be surprised if other VicLUG'ers didn't soon show up after and continue the feeding frenzy. (Remember, AFOL's in stores are best described as wolves...)

I stopped in again at about 5:00 (maybe closer to 6:00) and the area they were in was totally bare. They had been set up at the entrance to the LEGO aisle, on one of the side-of-aisle-end racks all hanging individually. I'd estimate about 3 racks wide, 8 high and about 10 per rack...so 240, or 4 boxes. There's maybe a chance that more will show up tomorrow, if they got more than 4 boxes...

Were there any you were specifically looking for?

Posted by sarcastigirl in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 01:10

@J1A3L5 bummer! my son will be so disappointed...we've been in or called daily...he's deperate to get his hands on some! He's hoping for a full set and especially the surfer, pharoah and spartan (like everyone else!)

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 01:15

Sorry to hear that, I hope ToysRUs works out for you (supposedly) on Wednesday. My other advice would be to scout out the Duncan Wal-Mart, with Series I that is where I understand they lasted a bit longer there.

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 01:24

From your experience with the manager (and the fact it's Wal-Mart) I'm not sure if calling is effective - I never bother myself. It's a pain to go visit the store, but it's the only way to be sure the person on the other end of the phone still has firing synapses.

There's also the other Wal-Mart, I checked there today also and they were a no-show - But they might just be getting a differently timed shipment. They're LEGO is also spread allover the place if you look closely...I wouldn't be surprised if the figs showed up somewhere weird there.

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 01:30

Hope it works out for you...maybe you should send me a message if you want to discuss further, we've kind of taken this over. ;-)

@J1A3L5: Darn this is the second time I missed my chance with walmart...the fact that it's a 30 min drive to there kinda makes it hard
but their call services are good (better than TRU actually). I will try to get some in TRU, did you get what you wanted?

By the way, how much were they?

Posted by J1A3L5 in Canada, 30 Aug 2010 02:16

Yep, I got all that I wanted. They were priced at $2.86, just like last time.
Which ones are you after? I have to say, I was afraid the Spartan might be overrated...but he certainly isn't!

@Sarcastigirl Hey you should check every asile of the Toy section at your Walmart. Because the minifigures might not be on the LEGO asile... Just go slowly and take a look you might just be lucky! :)

Not even half the collection actually, the spartan, mime, egyptian, vampire, disco guy, mexican and karate master...and its good the price hasnt gone up like some were saying..

I got everything BUT the pop singer, Spartan, Disco, Egyptian, Cop, and the adventurer.

@ I like Lego: I agree. $10/pack is insane which is why no one is buying them. I did end up buying the complete set of series 2 at a Wal-Mart next to a Cineplex Odeon! I was surprised that location had them since they did not have series 1. I hope the info helps if you're still hunting for minifigures.

Does anyone have a strategy for buying series 3? I had two ideas. Buy 5 packs with a 25% chance of getting one duplicate but hoping that I get 5 of the 10 minifigures I want. The second option is to buy 30 random packs and hope I get a complete set. Not sure what to do to get a complete set for series 3 without the bar codes. I think buying an entire box is a bit too much even though the box itself is a nice collectible.

@ brixton: Oh well. Guess I didn't get there in time. I went there yesterday, and found only twelve. I went completely insane when I saw them. One packet had claw marks in the pack. I managed to get the Judoka and Skier, but nothing else. The first time I went ('round five) I didn't have the Barcode sheet. I headed home, picked it up, came back, and got those 2. I plan to go visit other Wal-Marts next week in hope's of finding some.

Depending on what is in Series 3, and how many of the minifigs I want duplicates of. I might just considering going in on a whole box with one or two other people, since there is usually 3 sets per box with extras. That will save time and frustration of having to track down the minifigs seperatly without barcodes.

@Brixton Hey you have a great idea for Series 3 but before I got my barcode sheet for series 2 I spent like 1 and a half hour feeling the bags... it wasn't fun and I went home with really sore fingers...lol

Oh and my Walmart didn't have Series 1 so I guess it is true that LEGO is making bigger shipments of these so more people can get their hands on them!

So the Macleod Trail Wal-Mart in Southern Calgary does indeed have the Series 2 minifigs. I stopped by a few days ago and they had four boxes. There were no Spartans in any of the boxes, so someone has been there and has sorted through the boxes to build a Spartan army. I got all the minifigures that I wanted, and there's still plenty there!
