A day earlier than expected, and just in time to make it under the wire for the free shipping offer in the UK (finishes tonight, 31st August, so get ordering), the UCS Imperial Shuttle is up now for immediate shipping from LEGO Shop online in most regions.

A quick skip through the various countries & it looks like it's available to order across Europe & Australia/New Zealand. but not the US, Canada or South Korea just yet ... keep an eye on the pages, as it won't be long now! As is common with the larger sets, customers are limited to ordering a maximum of 5 ...

Thanks to DrDaveWatford & keithkram for the heads-up !

EDIT - that didn't take long; a couple of hours later & they are available on the US & Canadian sites too!

Here are the links to the shop: USA | UK. Remember if you order through these (or any other link on this site) Brickset gets a small cut that helps keep it running.

EDIT - Just as the UK free shipping offer ends, a US & Canadian offer starts !  Between now & 19th September, LEGO Shop online are offering free shipping on all orders over $75 (US or Canadian); check the website for all the clauses & conditions.

It'll be available tomorrow (9/01/10) in the US at Lego.com, for $260.00. I probably won't get it until some store like Toys R Us or Walmart puts it on sale, as $260 is too much for me right now...

£239.99 is a very steep price so I am out.

cannot wait to get this set. ready to buy when it goes on sale though. will look great next to the Falcon.

Posted by train_nut in United Arab Emirates, 31 Aug 2010 14:26

I bit the bullet and bought the shuttle for $450 AUD. Secondly I saw the 16 fig limit but ordered 30 minifigs, and it processed through! So let's see what happens....

Wow is that an expensive set! And why can't lego make these UCS sets with interiors and working landing gear?!?! If this set or the UCS Falcon had interiors and working landing gear, I might buy them.

I think i will get it after what people thought about it...so please write good reviews!

Posted by voypro in United States, 31 Aug 2010 15:28

"max order of 5" Oh man, I wanted 6... I guess I am just going to want till they remove the limit restrictions.

£240? Ridiculous. Only rich parents and/or AFOLs are going to be able to afford that, surely? I am seriously wondering who this set is aimed at. Lego is becoming more and more expensive, it's getting quite depressing.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 31 Aug 2010 16:10

its now available in canada

It is now available in US.

TLG is ruining me, I need a new house to store all my LEGO, but I can't afford one because of all the LEGO I keep on buying. Can't they like, just stop making sets for a year or so, c'mon TLG, give me a chance!

Posted by lego_nutt in United Kingdom, 31 Aug 2010 17:38

not worth the ££££

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 31 Aug 2010 17:46

@aktinsar : you and me both ! I am literally drowning in boxes. What a way to go, though !

Posted by capnrex in United Kingdom, 31 Aug 2010 18:23

@Aktinsar + DrDaveWatford - I just had to stuff all my Lego boxes into a WW2 underground bomb shelter in my garden!

@Huffy1968:
I think it is aimed at the collector, since the recommended age is 16 and up, as with most all the UCS sets (or at least 14+). I'm an AFOL and I feel your torment with regard to the price, but dang if it isn't a sweet looking set. Might have to bite the bullet on this one...

lol @ atkinsar:
you should see my garage. No room for the car, and I'm running out of space for the Legos too. Too bad I can't store them in my bank account, since that seems frequently empty.

I've been waiting for this for a while so the first thing I did this morning was instantly buy it, I can't wait for it to get here, as long as the box doesn't come damaged, which is highly unlikely.

@huw/bluemoose/yellowcastle etc: I would like to see how this is built...how long do you think it will take for you guys to put the instructions?

Thanks, iabstract - you gave me my first laugh of the day !

I built the one for work display. Its a beautiful build. Leans slightly forward and the stands are really good.
I would recommend it if you have the money.
The build took me 6 hours over 2 nights. Whilst watching Dexter. =)

I for one am really excited about this set. However, did anyone realize that the shipping cost on the US S@H is $0.00?

Posted by Davidrestall in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2010 13:16

Am just waiting for it it's some where in the post!!!!!

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 01 Sep 2010 14:21

I thought the retail was gonna' be $250.00 usd? Maybe I read that wrong somewhere's?
It's a great looking model definitely geared for the AFoL...and that special Xmas present for the TFoL who's rabid for LEGO. My only gripe with it is that they couldn't incorporate the landing gear into the model itself like the original fan MOC they based it off of.

Like some others have said, the prices keep going up. Not so bad on some of the new Star Wars sets as I thought but Slave I and the new AT AT are waaaaaaay over the top. I'm most surprised by some of the sets that are not licensed properties. They should be about 10-20% cheaper IMO.
