Before I went away I finished off adding some new features which I've just published today.

    • Your overall review ratings are now shown in the results table, along with a link to your review.
    • On the My Sets page you'll see new links to view sets that you have rated 5, 4, 3, 2, 1  and to those you own that you have not yet rated. The links 1 to 5 only appear if you have actually given a set that rating.
    • You can now edit your reviews. If you review a set for a second time, your original review will be shown in the form, which you can then edit.
    • When viewing review listings, an 'Edit this review' link will be provided on your reviews.

Also, unrelated, the web services have been updated with a new service method and if you have a iPhone/iPad I've provided a fancy icon which will be used if you bookmark Brickset.com.

As usual, if you find any problems with any of this, or have suggestions for future enhancements, let me know.

Fantastic Updates! Thanks Huw.

Cool! Ok, when you view your sets, the connection is... a little slow. Is it normal? Or is it because of all my sets? :) Oh, a suggestion: A PREVIEW of your review, before you submit it! Can you implement it?

The text on the reviews box for me is overflowing and overlapping onto the box below

@LegoCoastGuard, that was happening to me too. Refresh your page and it should fix it. At least it did on my machine.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 01 Sep 2010 13:25

@coastguard, not sure why that is, but if it happens again send me a screenshot. If what jake9 suggests fixes it it's probably a stylesheet issue and refreshing the page will load the latest version.

@Alemas, yes I can probably do a preview...

@Huw, jake9 - It's working now

Yess!! I have been waiting to be able to edit my reviews for such a long time! Great updates!! :D

Thanks for the updates, Huw. Another suggestion : it doesn't look like it's possible to search bricklists. I did consider writing another bricklist a while back, but because I couldn't search to see whether someone had already made the list I was thinking of doing, I decided not to do it. Can you add a facility to search bricklists for keywords, or at least tell me how to do it if the facility already exists !?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 02 Sep 2010 04:28

@Dave, I do need to enhance the bricklists, I'll make that a priority for the next set of updates.

Posted by vynsane in United States, 02 Sep 2010 09:30

When I click the 'Edit this review' (using Google Chrome on WinXP) the formatting of the review completely disappears - it's jut one long paragraph, no line breaks, no formatting (lists, headings, all gone).

@DrDaveWatford - until the bricklists are enhanced, you can search using the 'site:' parameter in a Google search, like so:

site: www.brickset.com/bricklists "vintage planes"

This will narrow the scope of your search to just the site "www.brickset.com/bricklists" and then search for any keywords within the quotes.

Just out of interest, is there a rough date for the 'advanced collection manger'?

"@Dave, I do need to enhance the bricklists, I'll make that a priority for the next set of updates."
Thanks, Huw - I can feel a new Bricklist coming on....!
@vynsane - thanks for the tip - I'll give it a try. Never heard of this feature of Google before.

Finally! An edit button. This means I can clear up some of my mistakes and I won't have bother Huw every time I see another one. It's a win win situation. Thanks Huw.

But saying that, I've just noticed that Part 1 of one of my reviews is missing. Because of it's length, I wrote a review in two parts. Part 2 is still listed, but Part 1 has gone. Can it be returned please?
