    40011: Thanksgiving Turkey
    Seasonal/Thanksgiving, 2010
    More details...

The four new seasonal polybag sets are now available from LEGOshop.com: USA | UK. At least, three of them are available everywhere but the best of the bunch, the turkey, only appears to be available in north America. Don't LEGO realise we eat turkeys over here, on Christmas day? :-)

So, if some kind soul could ship a couple over to me in time for Christmas, please get in touch!

@bader - Would you be able to send one to me too? How much would you charge? Please contact me via my profile. Thanks. And do the Lego set designers not have their turkey at Christmas?

I really do like the angel Key chain. That's going on my X-mas list :)

Uh-oh...everything's listed as "Not Available"...and I mean EVERYTHING throughout LEGO Shop at Home in North America. I hope this is temporary...

The turkey is superb - anyone over in the U.S. willing to ship me a couple also ? Thanks !

Posted by legogirl19 in United States, 15 Oct 2010 20:23

I really like the angel key chain too! It's weird that it says "Not Available" now when earlier I was able to add it to my shopping cart! They are available in store at the lego store near me too! Oh, and BTW Lego.com now has free shipping on orders over $99 valid until December 14!

HUW don't you eat goose in the UK? I have never heard of Turkey in any of my UK cook books or on the BBCA

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 16 Oct 2010 01:12

It is traditional to eat Turkey on Christmas Day in the UK; it's what most people have.
It's also eaten throughout the year.

@Bluemoose, yes it is a tradition to eat Turkey over here, but i eat beef instead.
All this talk over food is making me hungry.....

@vamproe Sorry, we can't let you know through your profile because
'Contact: vamproe does not want to be contacted via Brickset.'
:-)

@LegoCoastGuard - I was about to post the same thing !

@vamproe - if the offer still stands, please contact me via my profile. I could do with a couple of Turkeys !

I believe the reason why the Turkey is only in the US is because it's supposed to be a Thanksgiving themed-set; which we don't celebrate over here nor any other country excluding North America I believe. I think they should just replaced "Thanksgiving" with "Christmas" for all the other countries; since I would like one of these, is there any left to sell here?

Posted by LEGOCityManiac11 in United States, 16 Oct 2010 06:31

Yes, I cannot wait.

Posted by Ulli in Germany, 16 Oct 2010 07:57

The "Thanksgiving" in countries outside USA/CA is called "Harvest Festival" or its similiar meaning in the specific language (german: Erntedankfest). It is of course not at the same date as Thanksgiving, as the end of the harvesting differs by the various countries and their climate!
In Germany for example it is normally the first Sunday in Oct. In Germany the Turkey is also know as possible traditional meal for this occurence, but I think this also differs between the different families and their own traditions!

Never mind my previous comment. Everything seems to be fixed over at LEGO Shop at Home.

Willing to ship turkeys, angels, parts, figs, sets.... Contact me please, via my profile. I am also on Bricklink, username : bader, store name: Bad bricks, no problem shipping outside the US! WHEN is Lego going to make it easier on us all and make everything avalable everywhere? ...its not like they have to fordge new trade routes under sail anymore!

I will be in Orlando the day before Thanksgiving and will be going to the Lego store at Disney downtown while there, i plan to grab a few of the Turkey sets if possible (but im sure they will have plenty).
So of course if anyone is still after one let me know and i will do my best, will let you know how many i managed to get when back (about a week later).
