The official LEGO website states that set 10185 Green Grocer will be available tomorrow, Feb 22. Finally, another set to add to the modular street that LEGO is building up!

Update: Apparently it was an error, as the set has not shown up yet. We will be sure to tell you when it does.

This is awsome! I've already seen this model at a Lego show recently. It's pretty cool. I wonder what modular building is next.

I want to see what they all look like when they're put together...

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 21 Feb 2008 14:37

I can't wait to get this set! Unfortunately I must be patient because this set is most likely going to be well over a hundred bucks! My wife just bought me Town Plan for Valentine's Day and I have the UCS Batmobile, Batcave, Hobby Train, Holiday Train and 2 Creator sets waiting to be built along with the Town Plan. My anniversary is in July so I will probably wait until then to get it.

The set itself looks awesome! I love that LEGO is making these sets for AFOLs and using rarer colors like sand green. I have plenty of the primary colored bricks so it is a bonus to get rare colors like sand green in the Green Grocer, light blue and navy blue in Market Street and tan, dark red and dark blue in Cafe Corner. I made a modular building that sits in between CC and MS on my computer desk. I'll be posting pics of it on my brickshelf account today. Follow the link if you'd like to check it out:

What the?! It's ready for sale tomorrow? I thought I'd have at least a half-year wait for it.

Is gonna look pretty sweet attached to my 2 Cafe Corners and Market Street.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 21 Feb 2008 17:18

2 Cafe Corners?! Nice! I haven't gotten Cafe Corner, Market Street, or Green Grocer. I would if I had the money. :( Oh well too bad for me hehe :D

BTW, I'm not sure if anyone was aware, but you can download the PDF files of the Green Grocer instruction book from:

Nice!!! To bad the my lego budget was flushed down the drain by the town plan...

Posted by Exo-ForceFan in N/A, 21 Feb 2008 19:21

I saw the pictures of the inside, it's really cool. There's like a cash register and other stuff. I think it is about $200.

I really like this series of buildings. I would really like to get one but they are just too expensive... for me anyway. I like this buildings though! :)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 22 Feb 2008 08:31

You can build your own series of buildings in this style if you have the bricks in your collection. I am not suggesting that anyone can build these exact sets but we can build similar sets. You can download the directions for Market Street at lego.com still by following this link:
http://factory.lego.com/gallery/buildinginstructions/

Cashcleaner: THANK YOU for the link to the Green Grocer directions. I am downloading them now and can't believe how nice this set really is. Anybody interested in modular building should check out the links in this thread. You can learn the strategies used in both Market Street and Green Grocer.

If anybody would like to see my own creation in this theme, please follow the link to my brickshelf gallery:

Please let me know what you think.

Uh oh. I just went to LEGO Shop@Home and nothing comes up for 10185 or Green Grocer.

Posted by rbininger in United States, 22 Feb 2008 10:36

I saw this set listed yesterday morning when I visited the S@H site to place an order, but noticed it had disappeared a few hours later when I went back to confirm my order and check my account history.

I can say it was absolutely listed in the shop yesterday in the 'Hard to Find' category, with no price and a message that it would be on sale Feb 22. I would say it was probably taken back out of the store somewhere around 3:00-4:00pm EDT, which is when I returned and realized it was gone.

FYI, also, I think the promo code FS50US is no longer valid. I tried it yesterday and it was rejected.

So is it like not going to come out today anymore or what?

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 22 Feb 2008 11:17

Google has it cached:

I just called my local Lego store and they aren't expecting it until March. :(

Posted by legolover94 in New Zealand, 22 Feb 2008 14:14

Same with my local toy store.

Posted by arctrooper170 in United States, 22 Feb 2008 18:14

Where am I suppose to look on lego.com because I cant find it anywhere and I searched it 4 times

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 22 Feb 2008 18:36

Yeah, they took it off for some reason. It was there yesterday, but now it's gone.

Copy/pasted the description from the LEGO site for those interested:

Amazing details and design!

Expand your LEGO neighborhood or start a new one with the Green Grocer! Designed in a modular style, this colorful and lively building features a grocery store and classic apartments that can be built, rebuilt and rearranged to suit your own LEGO town. Detailed architecture includes realistic interior, courtyard access, a roof terrace and fire escape, lots of windows and doors, and much more!

* Build a street layout by combining Green Grocer with 10190 Market Street and 10182 Café Corner!
* Top 3 floors lift off to reveal inner rooms!
* Grocery store features a blue and white awning, cash register, bins for bread, vegetables and fruit, refrigerator and tiled floor!
* Apartments have lots of details like bay windows, fireplace with tools, grandfather clock and windows that open to the fire escape!
* Stairs lead up to the apartments and to the roof terrace!
* Roof terrace has chairs, umbrellas, grill and flowers!
* Check the mailboxes for letters!
* Fire escape ladders move up and down!
* Access the courtyard behind the building!
* Street features lampost, fire hydrant and light fixtures!
* Includes 4 townspeople minifigures, plus a cat and rat!
* Measures 14" (35cm) high and 10" (25cm) wide!

So that's what they had down on the S2H site, but unfortunately no prices were posted. Hopefully this kit won't set me back too much.

AND FINALLY, THEY'VE INCLUDED INTERIOR ELEMENTS! Someone must have been reading my reviews at Brickset. :P

OMG. I would so love to have Market Street, Cafe Corner, and Green Grocer all lined up on my desk. Unfortunately, I'm a poor college student, and $40 is a lot to spend on plastic blocks - much less $400!

My current personal rule is that I only buy sets on clearance. Right now I'm thinking about picking up Castle Chess and/or Hobby Train before they vanish for good.

But to everyone who's kicking it up with the modular building sets, have fun with Green Grocer! I probably won't be buying it, but I still can't wait. :-)

Just got back from a visit to my local Lego Store and they had a March Store Calendar with various events, and they indicate that Green Grocer goes on sale on Monday March 17th. Looks like we'll only have to wait about 3 more weeks.

Posted by Cashcleaner in Canada, 24 Feb 2008 02:17

^ March 17th sounds like a more reasonable release date for the kit.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 24 Feb 2008 13:01

It looks like it is going to sell out really fast, then.

Posted by UKver2.0 in United States, 24 Feb 2008 17:24

A good day to release a green set.

Posted by Fighter95 in United States, 24 Feb 2008 18:57

Haha he has a point. :)

Posted by bmwlego in United States, 24 Feb 2008 21:24

I checked my LEGO Store March calendar and saw the same thing listed for the 17th -the release of Green Grocer! Woo-hoo! (Although I'll have to most likely wait until my anniversary to get it.

) I don't really think that I will be buying anything that is not star wars unless it is extremely cheap, like half price or something. I wonder how long it will be until lego releases a whole colection of the town saga. Market street, Green Grocer, Cafe Corner. That would probably cost more than the UCS Falcon. way above my budget.

Posted by chrisdog121411 in United States, 25 Feb 2008 19:39

i fell pretty mad that it is gone off the list

Posted by Da_LegoBuilder in United States, 25 Feb 2008 20:25

Wow! this set seems so cool! but sorry, Star Wars comes first, then these sets!

Posted by Mog, 29 Feb 2008 18:31

Luke Skytalker, Market Street is $90 and Cafe Corner $140. So even if Green Grocer was $260 (it won't be) and there was no bundle discount whatsoever, it'll be cheaper than MF.

I wrote all that to make myself feel better about wanting these sets...

I'll HAVE to buy Green Grocer on the 17th, before it sells out...but I want Cafe Corner first..ohh...

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 01 Mar 2008 03:52

How about you find a really good coupon?

Posted by lego vally in Australia, 01 Mar 2008 06:33

i wouldn't like to live in the U.S. right now because in every other country you can now buy the green grocer and it is a lot cheeper than the cafe corner. however in saying this it may be cheeper to buy for the U.S. than from australia.

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 01 Mar 2008 15:58

They should set up lego headquarters evenly around the world so that they don't make changes to the pricing. Or just merge all our currencies. It's such a hassle.

Posted by mastermind in United Kingdom, 02 Mar 2008 06:42

It's out now anyway, and it looks great!I'm gonna buy it and you should too!

Posted by Luke Skytalker in New Zealand, 02 Mar 2008 12:53

The interior looks cramped but I think that's what makes it awesome.
