Posted by Huw, 12 Nov 2010 14:03. Filed under Brickset.

Eurobricks has posted pictures of the first wave of 2011 Star Wars sets. I've added them to Brickset and you can see how 2011 is shaping up in the Star Wars department here. (Thanks r4-g9!)

So... what do you think? There are some interesting models by the looks of things. I particularly like the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship, because it has an interesting colour scheme and some neat minifigs by the looks of things.

Update: C3POwen has told us where these came from (a German toy shop) and I've now downloaded images for the vast majority of the first batch of 2011 sets from that site: NinjaGo, Technic, Racers and more! See them all in the 2011 set listing. They are not the biggest pictures ever but you can get an idea of what the sets'll be like.

Yes! Awesome!

Posted by vamproe in United States, 12 Nov 2010 14:16

i'll be getting one

Posted by Orange_Juice in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 14:19

I have never brought a Star Wars set before, however 2011 sets hold some interesting pieces.

Posted by Firox 5000 in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 14:20

They all look awesome if you ask me. The T-6 has some fantastic new jedi figures , the Bounty hunter ship looks cool and yes the figures they are very neat. the battle packs look better than ever too. 2011 looks to be a really good year for star wars as the first wave sets this year were a bit disapointing.

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 12 Nov 2010 14:21

I want two Imperial V-Wings... Thank you for putting the 2011 sets here Huw!

Posted by cjg in United States, 12 Nov 2010 14:40

@Murdoch: The Imperial V-Wings are awesome. I want a few of them too. :D Is the R2 unit silver?? Cool!

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 12 Nov 2010 14:46

I am not really a fan of Star Wars Legos, so naturally I am annoyed that this is the theme that they emphazise the most detail on.

Update: Though I might get the Mandalorian Battle Pack for those Jet Packs.

Posted by C3POwen in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 14:49

It looks like the site they got the images from also has lots more pictures of new sets. Here are just a selection:

Atlantis - Temple of Atlantis: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/7985.jpg
Creator - Buggy: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/5763.jpg
NinjaGo - Garmadon's Fortress: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/2505.jpg
Pharaoh's Quest - Pyramid of the Pharaoh : http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/7327.jpg
Racers - Vicious Viper: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/8231.jpg

All the images are based on their set number, so are easy to find. None of the new Space (from the City theme) sets from what I could see, though.

Thanks C-3POwen and Huw!! Now i know where my christmas money is going.... I will be bankrupt before February.....are well, all to a good company.

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 12 Nov 2010 15:16

V-WING ME WANT!!! AND BATTLE PACKS!!! AND NABOO!!! AND PHARAOH'S QUEST!!! I WILL BE BANKRUPT!!! Sorry, I'm just too over-excited! :)

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 12 Nov 2010 15:18

I still can't believe they took out Quinlan Vas and replaced him with ANOTHER Anakin Skywalker!!! How many of him do we need? Extremely disappointed!!! I only plan on buying the 2 small battle backs. I also want to buy Aurra Sing, Saese Tiin, and Shaak Tii on Bricklink.

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 12 Nov 2010 15:20

@starfire: That's what I was going to say. Ah, the perils of preliminary images... You never quite know what you get...

Posted by Pepper in United States, 12 Nov 2010 15:23

No Vos? And he is in the next CW episode, too. We have enough Anakins! BRING BACK VOS! That bursts my bubble. :( The rest of the sets are awesome, though. Can't wait for the new BPs! I will be bankrupt too!

@cjg- Yes, that's a silver R2.

Posted by James Skywalker in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 16:43

"Awesome" to quote my 7 year old. All these must be mine (I mean his). All these sets look excellent, I suspect the Clone battle pack will sell like hot cakes, at last a battle pack with a really cool vehicle in it.

Th Naboo pack looks good, but I'd have rather seen a Gungan battle pack, perhaps next year.

One disappointment, The Battle of Geonosis doesn't seem to have any Geonosians in it; though it does have a really awesome cannon. (The box art is available on another site)

Fortunately I won't be bankrupted as the doubling of Student UK tuition fees means I'll never be able to save up enough to send my kids to university, so they simply won't be going and I can now spend the cash I was saving on Lego instead!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 17:04

Thanks C-3POwen, I'm writing a script to download them all now!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 12 Nov 2010 17:10

I'm not going to bother with the V-Wing, it looks like the last one with a new color scheme. I'll be going for those battlepacks and maybe some of the other sets.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 12 Nov 2010 17:12

There are out-of-box photos on EB too! Really cool figures in these sets. I'm definitely getting a few Mandalorian packs, one or two maybe, or five...

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 12 Nov 2010 17:29

@ cjg: Yes, I think the V-Wing's droid is silver. I am going to use the V-Wing with my black custom Anakin's Starfighter like fighter. I've even got a huge capital ship for a base! (Custom of course!) Glad I'm not the only one who like the V-Wings.

@ Alemas: I WANT V-WING'S, AND I WILL ALSO BE BANKRUPT! ($120 for a capital ship, $40 for the Black star ship, (these are from LDD) and $50 total for the V-Wings is alot! ($210 to be exact!) Oh well, I will be broke but happy!

Posted by Pulpdiction in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 17:35

Battle packs only for me, nothing else of note IMHO. Looking forward to see if the Bounty Hunter stuff materialises.

Posted by ILikePi in United States, 12 Nov 2010 18:03

Thanks a ton for adding all the pictures to your database, Huw! I hadn't had time to log on Eurobricks for the last two months, and I didn't want to sift through tons of posts from EB's ever-growing member pool.

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 12 Nov 2010 18:07

Huw, you are the man!!! Me and my kids are hopping with excitement!!! Love all the pics !!!

Posted by Seagull in United States, 12 Nov 2010 18:15

Next year looks great! The Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship is probably the best, along with the Mandalorian battle pack and the Naboo set. However, there better be some Original Trilogy sets out later, or I'll be pretty ticked off. Another Cloud Car would be awesome, with Lobot and Lando!

Posted by vynsane in United States, 12 Nov 2010 19:41

The shift to trans-yellow in Atlantis is so awesome. I love the NinjaGo and Pharaoh's Quest lines so much! 2011 is going to be an expensive year :(

Posted by R4-G9 in Canada, 12 Nov 2010 19:53

@Huw - on the website if you click on the images there are out of box pictures which look awesome. here is a preview of one of the ninjago sets: http://www.superspeelgoed.nl/lego-2111-p-9238.html
i just need to figure out what the three peices are for.

Posted by Seagull in United States, 12 Nov 2010 19:58

Pharaoh's Quest does look cool. Not so excited about Ninjago...

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 12 Nov 2010 20:01

Hm... bent arms with straight arm hands on the NinjaGo skellies... cool! The skellies seem to have some sort of... boots? At the feet? A little weird, if you ask me... You know what? Those NG weapons make me think of BrickArms, BrickForge etc.! Does LEGO want to make them bankrupt?

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 12 Nov 2010 20:06

What?!? This is Absurd: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=2263-1, and http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=2259-1
Choppers and caterpillar tracks?!? In Ninja land?!? LEGO sure has weird ideas...

Posted by myoulton in United Kingdom, 12 Nov 2010 20:20

Shame all the Maledorians are identical. The clone trooper set has greater variety but the bounty hunter set seems to be the best of the lot.

Posted by cjg in United States, 12 Nov 2010 21:52

@Alemas: It is kind of weird for Ninjas, but the vehicles themselves are pretty cool!

Posted by Doctor Leg O'Brick in United Kingdom, 13 Nov 2010 02:54

ARGH!! Just figured if i by most of these sets it will come to about a three, maybe four figure number.....
Thank you again Huw and C-3POwen, when i saw the pictures the glass screen for the computer smashed into pieces...

Oh, if any one wants to make Jango Fett, put a range finder on one of the mandalorians.
And one more thing...5766 has a minifigure!!!!!!!

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 13 Nov 2010 03:02

@cjg: really? I find them way off scale and oversized

Posted by C3POwen in United Kingdom, 13 Nov 2010 04:47

It looks like the out-of-box images can be accessed by following the same system for the image links I posted earlier and just adding "-1" at the end of the number:

BOXED - Atlantis - Temple of Atlantis: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/7985.jpg
UNBOXED - Atlantis - Temple of Atlantis: http://www.superspielwaren.de/images/7985-1.jpg

Cool trident on the gold fig in the temple

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 13 Nov 2010 07:41

@C-3POwen, you're right, I have grabbed both copies, I've put the unboxed ones in my flickr stream for now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hmillington/sets/72157625370805088/

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 13 Nov 2010 08:12

Huw-If possible I think you should replace the images with the "out of the box" ones, as they are a little bigger and show more in the set.

R4-G9-I think those have somthing to with the Ninja's leverage or holding him up.

I think that Pharoah's Quest is somewhat nice, but I would rather have Thunder. It seems that they hope the Adventures theme's popularity, that they sold out for two years of Indiana Jones, will work with Atlantis style sets. There is even a Dr. Kilroy wannabe!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 13 Nov 2010 10:16

I see more Spartan helmets coming in the future, just look at gold figure in the Temple of Atlantis. The individual ninja will probably be overpriced for a figure and a few pieces, but if we're lucky, they'll be on sale for a dollar or so. The actual ninja sets aren't terrible, it'll be a great way to get some more ninja's easily that will not be overpriced for a few figures. Who doesn't like ninjas? The spinners will probably be junk and never used unless i can find a way to use them to make some machine or add some function to a technic machine.

On another note, those Pharaoh's Quest sets look nice with some good, new pieces. Plus, we get another raised baseplate off the pyramid. =)

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 13 Nov 2010 11:13

Do you know when these are meant to come out. Do you think I could put them on the wish list competition?

Posted by cjg in United States, 13 Nov 2010 11:14

@ceroknight: Well, the chopper is, but the tank thing could be useful.

LegoCoastGuard-No current range only (read the small print).

Posted by blazetrooper501 in United States, 13 Nov 2010 19:06

I want all of the new star wars sets and I wonder if lego will have a new star wars chase minifigure like the chrome c3-po in 2007 or like the chrome vader in 2009. I hope so and toysrus has a bunch of the mini imperial speeder bikes set number 30005.

2011 is going to rock!

Posted by DrDaveWatford in United Kingdom, 13 Nov 2010 20:49

Cheers, Huw.

The Star Wars sets look OK but nothing to really get my heart pounding; oldies like me may be disappointed by the lack of original trilogy sets. I've not ventured into the Atlantis theme yet, but have to admit that the temple looks really quite cool....

Posted by llanowarsoldier in United States, 13 Nov 2010 21:24

Am I the only one who thinks the new Creator House is....lacking? It seems like it should be one of the bucket type deals. Plus, no base plate? TLG seems to be getting stingy(sp?) with base plates lately.

BTW Love the Police Prisoner Transport and K9 Transport

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 13 Nov 2010 21:58

@R4-G9:Are you serious?!?! 12.99 for that little set?!? thats worse than starwars!!

Posted by WedgeAntilles in United States, 13 Nov 2010 21:59

while the lack of original trilogy sets is disturbing to me, some of these do look good. I think the two battle packs are exceptional, with the Mandolorian pack being a good choice, but another clone pack seems to be overkill. The figures are still unique so it passes. What caught my eye, however, was the sleek looking V-wing. I have yet to see the price but if it's like its predecessor then I'll pick up at least one. The rest are logical choices from the series, but nothing I'm overly liking.

Posted by cjg in United States, 13 Nov 2010 22:52

@R4-G9: That's CRAZY!! Why would people buy it for that much $$??

Posted by duilim in Australia, 14 Nov 2010 01:12

Overall, I'm quite happy with what I've seen, but as others here have said, am also a little disappointed by the lack of OT Star Wars sets. I was hoping for a new A and B wing fighter - perhaps in the second half of the year. The new Stars Wars sets also seem a bit lacking - and it's doesn't seem that either the Bounty Hunter Gunship or the T9 Jedi shuttle are big enough to fit all the minifigs, which is another gripe of mine. Finally, do we really need another Anakin Skywalker?? I'm guessing most people would only be interested in this set for the minifigs anyway, so why, oh why would TLG not go with Quinlan Vos instead is beyond me, unless he's planned for another future set which is going to cost a bomb.......

Other than SW, most interested in the Ninjago figures - not really the sets though. Preferred the older, more classical ninja sets of the late 90's. These new ones seem more futuristic and unrealistic. So a little disappointed with how this theme has turned out.

The police city sets are ok, but since I've already got a station and truck, I might just settle for the Prison Van and the Dog Squad van and leave it at that.

In any case, I can see that it's going to be another expensive year......

im SO digging the new mandalorian BP =)
@ turik... HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?! I mean, HOW are they not cool?!

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 14 Nov 2010 12:31

Berrybrick - I meant do you think that these will be out before the wish list competition closes? Aren't they meant to be out after Black Friday (whatever and whenever that is)

Posted by Duraz in United States, 14 Nov 2010 12:39

I think that lego really messed up with ninjago, there are a few pieces that I am happy about but, skeletons with choppers and tanks, really? It would have been way better to just have ninja vs. ninja.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 14 Nov 2010 12:40

Well, after a closer inspection of all 8 new SW sets and figures on Brickipedia, there seem to be few design and figure flaws. I am, however, somewhat dismayed by the extortionist price of the T6 Jedi Shuttle - $80 USD! Is anyone else dismayed by this high price? It seems like the model will have even less pieces than the Slave I does for its price of $80. The minifigs do seal the deal, but this seems like highway robbery on Lego's part.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 14 Nov 2010 16:51

@Zacherano - yes, i am. but perhaps there are many pieces

Posted by duilim in Australia, 14 Nov 2010 18:55

@Zacherano - I agree but TLG probably figured that they can get away with it since it's the only set that Saesae Tin and Shaak Ti are exclusive to and some (including myself) are willing to pay that price for those minifigs. If it makes you feel any better, it's going to cost a lot more here in Australia - a $80 USD set usually translates to about $150 here in Australia (going off this years Slave 1), which based on current exchange rates is about $147 USD.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 14 Nov 2010 21:03

@ crazyawesomeyeah and duilim - Thanks!

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 14 Nov 2010 23:27

I think that TLG needs to start thinking about the prices of sets. The prices are going up. I understand prices of materials are going up, but come on. The pieces are going down in volume, but the prices are going up. I wonder how long they are going to be putting sets out that pass the $100 mark? The more we buy the higher prices sets the more TLG is going to push the barrier up.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 15 Nov 2010 04:08

@zacherano, sounds like luke's landspeeder, amazing figures horrible price :-|

Posted by Optimus_Wombat in Canada, 15 Nov 2010 04:59

I'm not terribly familiar with prequel-Trilogy toys, but doesn't the V-Wing look a lot like a scaled-down version of the Sith Infiltrator model from way back in 1999?

Posted by Optimus_Wombat in Canada, 15 Nov 2010 05:00

I'm not thrilled that there aren't any Original Trilogy sets in here. Hopefully that's only because they haven't been announced yet.

Posted by HQuiff in Ireland, 15 Nov 2010 08:14

Pharaoh's Quest looks amazing. Really, well done LEGO!

Posted by mission_zed in United Kingdom, 15 Nov 2010 12:21

My two pennies:
Star Wars - looks pretty. Too expensive to collect, but I'm likely to pick up a green Clone Trooper.
NinjaGo - you can never go wrong with multicoloured Ninjas ! Doubt I'll pick up any skellies. Are they wearing black boots ? !?!
Atlantis - Yuk ! I do not like the yellow at all. New designs not exceptional, so happy to pass. Isn't this how they killed off Power Miners ?

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 15 Nov 2010 14:54

LegoCoastGuard-I don't think that there is not a Black Friday in Europe. It is the day after Thanksgiving (which you don't celebrate, hence my point) for us yanks. And you have to have the list in before a certain day and I think that you can only list sets from S@H.

LOVE all the Pharoah's Quest kits. Gonna' mod these just a touch and make 'em the Continuing Adventures of Indiana Jones playsets...;) Especially love the Mummy minifigs with Scarab shields and the wings and love the large Pyramid. Has some neat traps and play features.

NinjaGO is perfect for my kid and his allowance to pick up these little battle figures. I dig that you get some weapons and cards with each mini-fig.

Atlantis...gotta' get that temple with all those wonderful new column pieces.

Star Wars...I got a V-Wing from back in the day but this ones color scheme looks good. Gotta' see it up close to compare with the old V-Wing.
I'm on the fence with the Bounty Hunter ship. I like the design but would love it in black and grey or the Slave I color scheme.

WOW Mandalorian battle pack?!?!?

I actually rather despise the new star wars movies, and likewise do not care for the legos based on them, but the mandalorian battle pack is really cool.

Can anyone tell me if this V-wing was in any of the original trilogy movies? I don't really want it if its from the newer movies...

Posted by blazetrooper501 in United States, 16 Nov 2010 08:28

The new V-wing was in episode 3 at the end you see it fly by for like 2 seconds.
