    245: Two Santas

Bluemoose has been working overtime today and has processed pictures of the miscellaneous sets we took in the archive. Some of them are not listed anywhere else online (e.g. 1724-1727) although they are in the Collector book. However, this strange set, with two santas, is not listed even in that. According to my notes taken at the time, its set number is 245, but obviously that needs to be confirmed since the number is not on the front of the box and we didn't photograph the sides. Do you know anything about it? Let us know if so!

Nice pics! Hey, there's an error: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=1594-1 I don't think it's from 2010! :)

These old pics bring back memories. Some sets that I sold when I was a kid and I forgot I had. *sigh*

Hi Huw. Cannot help you with more information about the 245-2 set. However, I was wondering what brick is used for the hats of the santas. It does not look like the normal Slope 45 2 x 2 (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3043) but maybe it is just the perspective and/or a bit of artistic freedom. Anybody else has an opinion?

^ It looks like one of these:

and one of these:

As I was looking these parts up in Peeron, I found that this combination was also used in this Santa from '86:

@brickmatt: Good find :) in the picture above, the perspective is a bit deceiving.

Santa's face has an erie resemblence to the angel from recent years, and now I keep looking at his nose like it is a mouth.

@brickmatt: Yes, that must be it. The perspective and lack of brick separation lines made it difficult to solve this puzzle. Good job.
