    You may recall back in April we added scans of programmes from the 1980's LEGO World Shows, thanks mainly to Rohan in Austraila who visisted them as a kid.

    This week, Rohan secured a previously unknown (to us, anyway) programme from a tour entitled 'On Safari' from eBay and has very kindly scanned it so it can be shared here. We don't know what year it was from, or where in the sequence of tours it sits though: there's no date on it. Many of the models look similar to those at LEGOLAND Billund, round the Safari train ride. Rohan adds 'I think it [must have been] a rather boring exhibition: yes the animals are well sculptured, but I think if I was a 10 year old child taken to this, I probably would have rushed through, until I got to the free-play area!"

I think this show was in Brisbane, Australia in 1990, say around July-August. I'm basing this off Granddad buying me http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=6257-1 at the show the previous year. From memory the sculptures looked really good, but I was disappointed there wasn't a pirate ship like the previous show.

I remember these. I definitely went to the one in Brisbane in 1990. I'm pretty sure I have this book somewhere.

But no, I always loved the free-play area. What I remember most is the shop at the end - they would usually have all these train and town displays (of Lego sets), and it was so awesome. I loved it.

I'd also guess the early 90s from the design. 1990 because this set was released that year:

It would have to be from an Australian tour with the addition of the koala in the back of the safari car. It certainly sounds like Brisbane was a hub of LEGO World Shows up in the old MYER Centre, must be time to bring them back! :)

Ack, How on earth did Lego come up with the Idea that this would appeal to/excite Kids? Or was it aimed at adults? Thinking about it though (something I rarely do), These look far better than any of the limited number of Lego-land attractions I've seen ... Ah well, all is forgiven with the release of the Very good looking Pharaoh's Quest Theme ^^

Somehow I believe Australia had several more World shows then most other countries... why....I'm guessing Back in the 1980-90's Lego had a store in Sydney with a lot of workshop models in the store and possibly a model workshop it was a tax ride off to get there models from Denmark to Australia... maybe someone can shed light on that further. Attached is a link of a video of one of the last expos in Australia, the last expo being an Egyptian themed expo that was quite small and disappointing even for me as a child. I don't have the expo booklet that came out with the Wizards world expo but from what I remember is stated the models where built with either an Australian team in Denmark of built in Australia and that the expo contained the largest Lego dragon ever made with over 1.1 million bricks which can be seen in the clip it's the big red one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8drlan2wUMc

@Sharpy --- yeah, the old MYER centre! Oh, that brings back memories :). That was like my favourite place in the world as a kid.
