Legends of Chima TV series

The LoC TV series has kicked off in the USA, and now also in Canada, I believe.

As I've mentioned before, it won't be shown on UK TV and I suspect licensing agreements with the Cartoon Network will prevent LEGO from posting the episodes online for some time.

Thankfully, they can be watched on the Internet, although they are a little hard to find, too hard for me, in fact :-) But, thanks to a couple of respondents in the forum, they've been found on a site called Dubbed-Scene.com. It's a pretty awful site to look at and to use, but thankfully the videos themselves are embedded in iframes from another site and they can be played directly from the links below:

The bit rate is pretty poor and they certainly aren't in HD but you can of course get the gist of them. I've watched Episode 1 which explains how the 'war' started. It's definitely worth watching if you have an interest in the Chima back story.

It also settles the argument -- if there ever was one -- about how CHI and Chima are pronounced. It is Chee and Cheema, and not Ch-eye and Ch-eye-ma.

If the reactions of my 4 and 8 year old boys are any indication while anticipating, watching and whining when it was over, Lego has a massive hit on their hands.

There was an argument about how it was pronounced? I must have missed that one. I'll take a look at these, cheers Huw.

Hey Lego I want a Lego Galaxy Squad T.V. Show on the HUB please. Because I am getting tired of seeing Legos Space Themes being thrown in The Basement thank you.

At last something to new.

I easily get used to the flood of news last month, but even if I come to see brickset every hour, there are hardly any news nowadays.
Come on, let's writeeeeee!
I need to read Brickset all the time!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2013 17:25

^ Well, sorry that there hasn't been as much news worth reporting as you'd like :-)

Feel free to email me some articles yourself!

Posted by Haga in Hungary, 17 Jan 2013 17:28

I wish I should have any...
You should know that for me Brickset is the one and only thing to find Lego news!

Posted by tmgm528 in United States, 17 Jan 2013 17:58

/\ Brickset posts news about lego. Lego news just does not happen 24/7 so dont bug Huw to write.

Personally I really disliked the animals voices......thats just me though.

Ha ha, that dubbed-scene website seems a bit dodgerama (dodgy, suspect). Thank goodness? For Rutube?

Yes definately annoying 'good guy' voices but looks good, bound to be popular. Wish the Crocs had sounded suitably african. Yep the 'bad guys' are as is often the most likeable.

Yeah leonidas and Craggers voice were the worst!

It all of it looks fairly awful to me, but then again I'm not a kid anymore... :P

I'm going to watch them tonight, the models are so good that i'm totally addicted to this line.

Is this legal?... I don't get the UK licensing rules, from I can tell, pretty much every other cartoon on breakfast TV seems to be a tie-in for some 'japanese style' trading/battling game, so whats wrong with the Lego ones?

Posted by lego613master in United States, 18 Jan 2013 08:13

@Haga + @Huw + @whoever-writes-the-news-
I have a suggestion. At Brickset, do you think that you could make a new section of news. One about what's new (games, site changes, etc.) at Lego.com? I check only once every great while, since Brickset is all I read in the morning. Could you?

Posted by lego613master in United States, 18 Jan 2013 08:16

@equila- me too.

Posted by Haga in Hungary, 18 Jan 2013 09:58

Sorry but I haven't wrote anything to Brickset yet. I wish I could.
But good suggestion, for my it's Brickset all I read all the day:)

I Want The Legends Of Chima To A Weekly Half Hour Series Every Weekday Afternoon On CN @ 2:00/1:00pm This Year!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 18 Jan 2013 15:17

@lego613master, that is a good suggestion but I don't really visit that much either to know what's changed.

Is it my impression, or is Laval's father voiced by Peter "Optimus Prime" Cullen?

Posted by eastlands01 in United Kingdom, 19 Jan 2013 05:38

Reminds me a bit of Thundercats

Wow, all these comments and not much to say what they liked or didn't about the show.

Eh, I think this is going to be just as popular as Ninjago with kids, it seems to be setting up some really great plots and even greater new sets for the Summer wave. I particularly like that we get to see the new Mini-Figures that are sure to be introduced, Bear, Rhino, Skunk and Gorilla, it is also nice to see that the Gorilla didn't just re-use the Gorilla Suit Guy headpiece... Although I was half expecting it.

Also interesting to learn a bit more of how LEGO envision the Chi, none of the Chi seemed to look/resemble the Chi crystals found in every set, it was more like the Chi Orbs used for the Mini-Games, and the Golden Chi was even adressed. I may be an AFOL, however when it comes to the background information and such on a Theme's world it is really nice to learn more about it.

Even the 'Villains' of the show aren't truly 'evil', unless you count Crooler. I doubt we'll get them, but it would be nice to see the female leaders of the tribes along with their male counterparts as the Theme progresses. I also wouldn't mind seeing new LEGO animal pieces introduced in the future, a LEGO Lion, Gorilla, Wolf and such would be great to introduce, and not just Brick-Build Models, solid new animal pieces that could be used in MOC LEGO Circus settings would be greatly appreciated.

Anyway, those are all of my thoughts taken away from watching these two episodes last night in Canada. In a way I'm kind of glad LEGO doesn't make shows for every Theme they come up with, if that were the case we'd be inundated and pretty sick of them by now. Oh and one final thought before I go, the way the show handles the Speedorz, as battle chariots that run on Chi is really impressive. About the only thing I'm not too keen on is the numerous re-uses of the same character for crowd building. It was dissapointing to see with the Ninjago Serpentine and it's dissapointing to see here too. (Even if it does offer up an excuse for kids to own every single set with all the duplicate Mini-Figs.)

Odeinoichus: "Remember, this is NOT a discussion forum: use the Brickset Forum (http://www.brickset.com/forum/) to discuss general LEGO topics." :P:P

OK, so.. where are the rest of the episodes?

Posted by Anonymous97979879797987 in United States, 13 Feb 2013 20:40

I think it will make a great show for kids. It is entertaining and fast-paced with a storyline that could become as diverse as needed to move the story forward. I liked the flashbacks in the first episode and the progression through the second episode.
The storyline is somewhat cliche but that doesn't particularly matter in a kid's show. I would have liked to see a more abundant supply of strong female characters. Right now, there is a whimpering Eris, a malicious, black-hearted Crooler, and a doting Queen (I didn't catch her name).
It sucked me back in to the brilliantly creative world of Legos. I wish they had lego sets like this when I was a kid who still played with Legos (a whopping 5 years ago). Overall, nice job Lego company!
