Bricklist notes
Another of my personal favorites, may have been beaten into the number 3 position because, like Vladek's Dark fortress, it only has 3 walls and so, the back is open. Oriental design not as believable as Dragon fortress (no. 4) but overall playability just gives this set the edge....

Bricklist notes
Very much like Ninja and Dragon fortress, this one is unique as it's the only fortress with a Persian theme. Overall build is straightforward, and perhaps the set is slightly let down by the lack of persian guards (2).

One of the largest fortresses that Lego have ever designed, this is slightly let down by the lack of a back wall and the sparcity of shadow knights that come with the set......

Bricklist notes
Overall design is quite basic, not one of lego's best fortresses but no list of fortresses would be complete without it.... this one comes in at number 9.....

Bricklist notes
The first fotress/castle that lego released - very good playability and plenty of minifigs, even though there are some question marks about the overall colour scheme. Note the way the horses have been designed.....
