• Team Building Projects

Compiled by Toa Of Justice. Updated 27 September 2014. Contains 8 sets.
This is a list of LEGO sets I built with my father (in rough chronological order), and I recommend them as team building projects at varying levels of difficulty (Starter, Intermediate, Expert, Master). I also provide recommendations for parts-sorting and building abilities.

Bricklist notes
This is the first sets I remember building with my father, mainly because the Millennium Falcon is one of his favorite ships in Star Wars (and mine too)! Starting off with a mini model such as this one will allow new builders to either join experienced ones or begin a journey of building together. For a model of this size, I feel that sorting the pieces is entirely optional.

I built this one with my father too. The sheer size of this model almost necessitates at least two people (in my opinion)--at least one of which has a talent for sorting and/or finding pieces (that's my father!). At least one team member should be an advanced builder as well.

This is the third model I remember building with my father. I recommend this one for experienced builders, and parts sorting expertise would help as well.

Bricklist notes
I saw this set still for sale in 2009, and after looking at some other sets available at the time, I decided to get this one over the others. I'm glad I did too, because it was an excellent father-son building project. For this model, I believe being able to sort the parts is not quite as important as being able to put them together (especially the technical bits), but due to this model's size I recommend at least some parts-sorting ability.

Bricklist notes
I feel this model's difficulty rating is in between that of the Mini Millennium Falcon and the X-wing Fighter. Parts-sorting ability would be useful to have, but is not absolutely required. At least one person's building experience should be at an intermediate level.

My recommendations for this model are the same as the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon, but the smaller size of this model makes for an easier entrance into the world of Ultimate Collector's (and similarly-sized) models.

Bricklist notes
My dad and I built this model over Labor Day Weekend 2014. In terms of building difficulty among the models in this list, I think it comes in second to the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon, even though it doesn't have nearly as many pieces. Plus, the bags and instruction books are numbered, which are nice features for a UCS model.
