The newest and biggest set of 2005, the set features a giant rugged tank with several secret compartment areas plus there's many figures and plenty of accessories as well included.

Bricklist notes
The weakest of the 2005 Star Wars sets, the set isn't great for display, the figures lack movement and the play features are very flimsy. The set overall as whole, is quite useless unless you're under 8.

The winner of the first wave of 2006. The set is a simple yet effective creation of the A-wing ship which plays a short but prominent part in the Star Wars trilogy. The set also for £9.99 is very reasonable.

The weakest from the first wave 2006 sets, though not an awful set, the model receives issues when it comes to the fact it's wing don't fold properly makes it the weaker of the first phase 2006 sets.

This set wins it for the best 2006 second wave set. The model is sturdy, packed with features and an overall improvement from the original incarnation of the set. Also it's reasonable for £39.99 as well.

Bricklist notes
The weakest for the second wave 2006 sets. The model when it's comes to displaying it as a whole looks very impressive as well as being minifigu scale as well. However, the fact the model is fragile causes the set to lose points and therefore become the weakest of 2006.

Bricklist notes
For wave one 2007, this set is the strongest one [however also tied with the Y wing & Imperial Landing Craft]. The set brought in the start of the battle packs, a cheap and swift way to purchase multiple sets plus is also the best way to buy battle droid figures. The rest of the model is also well done with neat and compact vehicles.

The losing set for the first wave of 2007. The set obtains a somewhat slightly blocky appearance and also lacks potential foot movement despite being a noticeable improvement from the last version.

Bricklist notes
By far the best second wave Star Wars set. The model includes an impressive amount of battle droids plus a beast of a transporter model as well as plenty of other play features as well. The model also presents the MTT model extremely well and to this day could still be considered on of the best Star Wars sets.

By far the worst star wars set not just of wave two but also the whole year of 2007. The model cannot push correctly along surfaces, it's fragile and also receives a blocky appearance and is unrecognisable by most in the Star Wars world.

Best set of the first 2008 wave. The Rebel speeder which is very much a battle pack, is the cheapest way of obtaining rebel soldiers as well as a decent and nicely designed speeder also with a top turret too.

The weakest of wave one 2007 sets. The problem with this set is that contains no major or eye catching elements and the set overall has an appearance of several features just thrown in together and don't connect greatly.

The winner of the second wave of 2008 sets. The republic gunship is a brilliant sturdy vehicle and includes a number of new exciting figures. There are also plenty of other features including the speeder and an escape pod.

Bricklist notes
The weaker of the 2008 sets. The model doesn't include a great deal of play action other than a giant spider and minifigures. Though it definately isn't a terrible set, the model has competed with many other better models in this wave including the At-te and gunship [above].

Bricklist notes
The Solar Sailer is the losing 2009 wave on set. The model is rather small and lacklustre and is also very fragile as well plus lack of space inside. Even the Dooku figue doesn't justify the set.

The Endor set takes the title of the best second wave 2009 set. The model is a brilliant recreation of the battle of endor and definitely the best one yet. It includes plenty of play features, mini figures in the series and also an excellently re-designed At-At as well as speeders too.

Bricklist notes
The smallest but yet weakest of the second wave 2009 sets. The Tank droid is rather small, quite fragile plus the clone catapult included isn't great either. The price tag as for when was released [£24.99] was also too much as well.

Bricklist notes
The weakest of the 2010 wave one sets. Unfortunately, the model's main problem is it's lack of prominence in the star wars theme as only major fans will understand, recognise and appreciate the model as a whole and also it's lack any major definitive minifigure as well. The model became discontinued after just one year of production too [while the other in the wave went on for an extra year].

Bricklist notes
A greatly improved remake of General Grievous's Starfighter wins the best model of the second 2010 wave. In comparison to the last version, this model is sturdier, more to scale and as well as an excellent re-design of Grievous includes various other features including hidden missiles.

Bricklist notes
For wave two 2010, Palpatine's Shuttle is positioned as the weakest set. The problems with this set are completely basic with the main one being the model's appaling colour scheme featuring mess ups of white, red and different colours of grey giving a messy and almost incomplete look as if the designers ran out of parts and then mixed and matched with other colours.

Another problem is the expensive price tag of £59.99 which the set is slightly smaller than the Republic Shuttle which is a much better model in design and cost. If the set had been better coloured and £10 cheaper, it probably wouldn't be the worst on the wave.

Debatable winner of the first wave 2011 sets. The set contains a great medium sized ground vehicle with two excellent gungan patrol figures as well as plenty of battle droid figures. It is also the highest amount of battle droids availible in a single set since the MTT and another set brilliant for army building which could be described as some as a larger battle pack in a way.

For anyone who missed the UCS and other previous sets, this is an ideal model. The set wins it as the best second wave 2011 set with it's improved design, inside play features and the factor it includes most of the series's primary figures as well.
