Interesting figure, from the Juniors line , Subtheme : Girl
I suppose 10686 can be compared to 41398 : Stephanie's House or 41724 : Paisley's House.
I got that house for around 10€ and thought ist was a bargain. The seller was some parent who didn't know any better, but the set was in no way complete - this very figure was missing the head for example. Bricklinking the missing parts is more expensive than you might think!
Lessons learned:
- always make a thorough, and by that I mean THOROUGH! comparison between the official set pictures and the ones on ebay
- 10686 includes some nice stuff
@TeriXeri from what I can see it's closer to 41724
@jkb Can’t win them all. I have several times been told how complete a set is (or group of sets are) only to find a sub-build or even a vehicle missing. Sellers getting rid of their kids’ stuff or unsuspecting adults doing the same to their childhoods just don’t care that much. That’s why it tends to be cheaper.
Still worth it over the long run though, when ignorance works in the buyer’s favour and there are experiences like a $500 castle set in a $200 lot. Those are what drive me to continue.
As for this set, curious that the kid doesn’t have the short legs. Must be tall for her age or a teen.
Reminds me of a gorgeous girl I met sitting on a barstool at a crazy joint on Bourbon Street.
I just exclaimed, "Wow, you have butterflies on your shirt."
That was the start of an incredible evening. Whew! Those were heady times...
StyleCounselor is having a very nostalgic day.
She's got a big smile on her face! But so do I, because I was in town today and I bought 75372. Such an amazing set.

I believe the kid is supposed to be a teen. The can have - temporarily - strange proportions @NotProfessorWhymzi
As for the bulk lot diving - I love that, too! It's like treasure hunting and gold digging in one! And the longer I think about situations with sets for the youngest: believe these are the ones that lose the most parts. I'd like to aquire some old Basic sets like 725 - but I doubt you can find any even close o complete =/.
I like the colorscheme here. Very warm
Little me actually would have loved this set.

In most pre-2000 bins I find at least two Basic, Freestyle or Bucket type sets. Sometimes more. I wait until I process all the other sets first, and when I have tons and tons of basic 2x bricks, I know there was a purchase of one type of base set or another (a finger puppet, Maxi-fig, pile of windows and doors, or even propellers will often help me figure out which one. But sometimes set inventories are too close to one another to make the call). Even when I do more modern bins (2010+), I find Classic sets aplenty.
I have the torso in a few sets, and the rest of the parts from others. It wasn't worth the cost of the junior set for me to get the variant.
How is that a child since she has adult legs...
