Website IdleHands has published a list of four sets it says will form the DC Comics Super Heroes lineup for early 2015:

  • 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro (revealed at SDCC)
  • 76026 Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas
  • 76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike
  • 76028 Darkseid Invasion

They are all, apparently, 'Justice League' sets.

Thanks Paul N for the news.

By in Ireland,

I imagine we'll be getting the new Superman and Wonder Woman minifigures as seen in the upcoming Lego Batman 3 game. Also the Black Manta suggests we'll be getting Aquaman again. Glad they seem to be broadening the DC theme by not making them Batman centric sets (but I'm sure he'll appear in most of them).

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want a gorilla grodd minifig! IT'S cool they're making sets that correspond with the new game but what about marvel?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wonder if The Flash will be in with Gorilla Grodd? I haven't bothered with Riddler Chase yet, so it might be another way of getting him.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the sound of these sets, but as ever, I would have liked a new Batman villain or two.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it just me, or are the models in the £19.99 sets becoming worse each year?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If they are staying New 52 then Flash with Grodd makes sense. Likewise Black Manta and Aquaman. I would guess Superman and Batman with Darkseid

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

I hope that we get Cyborg and Mera minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Super excited for a Black Manta minifig. Also very excited that Black Manta might get to take on both Aquaman and most likely another version of Batman (super sarcasm). Honestly Lego, let them stand on their own, without another Batman. Bats is cool, but only Iron Man and the Green Lantern have reason to be offered in more than 10 variations.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I believe there's one more set in this wave, 76029 Brainiac Attack.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas"

Well...we can't do much better than that from here on.

Last person out shut off the lights, we're done here :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is this based on the comic books, a cartoon series, or the next movie, or just a hodge-podge from the license? I am really glad to see them expand the DC lineup, but am just curious.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am actually really glad for this, I'm a massive fan of Gorilla Grodd an Black Manta is my favourite DC villain apart from the joker :) But I really hope they include a redone aquaman as I love that character but the figure seems to cheesy compared to the ret of the league. The hair piece and colour just don't do it for me. But I am looking forward to this, some of the best news for me :D

By in Canada,

Ahhh more excellent offerings from DC, is it just me or does DC seem to be the better deal for sets compared to what they've been doing with Marvel? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a Spidey Theme as much as the next guy, but I find that the character selection in Marvel has become so random and we aren't seeing much variety considering the X-Men, Fantastic Four and other Heroes are ignored in favor of more Cap, Iron Man and Spidey.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Any ideas how long the license is for??

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Not a big fan of these new DC sets...

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

They seem interesting but I will only be buying: Black Manta and maybe Green Lantern vs Sinestro (Darksied if it is not too expensive).

Gravatar
By in United States,

maybe Groilla Grodd is a big fig

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

I am fine with DC beeing more than just Batman, but doesn't DC have some more notorious characters than these? Prior to this day I had completely no idea who Black Manta and Grood were ...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pocas, you must not watch kids shows :P Black Manta was featured heavily in Young Justice season two, and Grodd has been a major player in kids shows for a while now.

Meanwhile, I'm dying to know how big the sets will be, as that'll be the biggest indicator of what 'figs we'll get... I could see Grodd and Flash making a solid $10 set if Grodd isn't a bigfig. Lantern is $20, obviously. Then I'd wager Black Manta would be $30, with some sort of small Black Manta vehicle, Aquaman, and then probably Bats with a slightly larger sub. (Though seeing as we just got a scuba-bats, this could be the $10 set, and Grodd could be the $30 with Green Arrow too?). Beyond that, Darkseid would be the obvious flagship for the wave at around $50- Superman, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter? Idk if Darkseid has any minions, but I'd guess one of them too.

And if the Brainiac set is legit, that could be $70... Cyborg, Supes, Bats and another Leaguer? Maybe even another Lantern? One can hope... :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally, DC is branching out from that old Batman!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really looking forward to these!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

From he same source, TLM sets are said to be:

70817 Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack
70818 Double-Decker Couch
70819 Bad Cop Car Chase

Gravatar
By in United States,

70818 Double-Decker Couch better be UCS.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Little interest in any of these except for Darkseid, however only interested in the figure... if its any good.

Edit; If the rumoured Braniac set is real then I may get him also, depending on which version the Lego figure is based on.

@Sitkawitka2
Marvel are making sets for 'Avengers; Age Of Ultron' rumoured new figures include;
- Ultron
- Quick Silver
- Scarlet Witch
- Hulkbuster armour (Buildable, similar to 'Groot')

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wonder why LEGO release relatively few Super Heroes sets in each wave?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

A Black Manta minifigure? I already want this.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm really looking forward to these - I'm a big DC fan but prefer the second to third tier characters, especially Flash's rogues gallery.

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.

@CapnRex101 I would imagine why we see so few Super Heroes sets per year is because both Marvel and DC are under that Theme. Adding both companies together gives us at least 15 or more sets per year, including Polybags and exclusive Mini-Figures.

Another reason is shelf space, most SH sets tend to linger and are at least planned to last two years, if they released 15 DC sets apiece and 15 Marvel sets apiece we'd be seeing a fair number of unsold product cluttering shelves during the off-season.

Then there's the designing process which takes time to execute I'd wager and making sure the Theme doesn't give us everything too quickly. I'm hoping that at least one of these sets will include either a Clayface or Mad Hatter or even Killer Moth based on their appearances in the game, but that's wishful thinking as it stands. I sure hope they at least give us a different/new print Martian Manhunter so that those of us who missed the polybag can at least have the character even if he isn't in his classic design.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't care what we get (no offense hardcore DC fans. I'm a Marvel guy) as long as we get a cyborg figure. As for the Lego Movie set list Huw posted, I will probably be looking for the double decker couch set since it's a movie icon. I honestly don't have any TLM sets, only the Emmet figure from Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bet the double decker couch will have a scuba cap and a Queasy Kitty with a different expression... Although I'm a bit disappointed that this entire wave (of three sets) is basically all stuff we have seen before with some new designs: we already have a MicroManager, a couch from the Sea Cow set, and the flying version of Bad Cop's car... Where is the $200 Masterbuilder sub that I really want or even an expansion on the Cloud Cuckooland set? Even Emmet's Apartment would be great or a to movie scale Construction Mech?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is fantastic news; I'm so glad to see to some different villains, and it makes me wonder if somehow they'll be able to get Grodd (who is just an absurd idea for a character) into the Flash TV series.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Expanded cloud cuckoo land would be bitchen :)

I actually think the DC sets sound pretty cool too. Not sure who black manta is! I figure darkseid has to be huge tho, solid as a wall - and he should have desaad with him in there, if there's anybody ( or maybe the black racer... Wishful thinking)

Sinestro will be supercool

Brainiac too I hope!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I will add Gorilla Grodd to Gorzan and his Chima friends... and my Planet of the Apes MOC will be one minifigure nearer to completion! I also need a brick built Statue of Liberty - just the top half.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh yes, and gorilla grodd has to be huge also surely..! (Just imagine if they gave us the ultramarine corps instead of the justice league for that one...)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Gravatar
By in United States,

If these are actually sets, where the heck is Brainiac?! Also, Flash and Aquaman had better be new versions-- I already have the existing two, and I take pride in having exclusive figs, even when I have no intention of selling them!

Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas?! This has got to be the best LEGO set name ever, Where Are My Pants? Guy aside.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Darkseid, Grodd (which I'm guessing will have Flash) and Brainiac minifigs?

Yeah, I'm gonna be broke. I like that they're releasing more villain minifigs, though. Those plus Sinestro is a great thing (now, just have to wait on the release of Plastic Man).

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ Scarilian thanks definitely getting those but will the hulkbuster support a tony stark minifig?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is tremendous!! Thank you all for the DC and TLM news. I'll definitely own all of the DC sets.

Can we possibly get confirmation of that Brainiac set?

Gravatar
By in United States,

WONDERFUL! And they're not even Batman based.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Suhweeet! It would be nice if they tried to do Darkseid to scale.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All bets in that Batman will be included in ALL of these sets!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also nice to see it's not a bunch of rehashes, there will be more characters in these sets than just these ones too, which is nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, awesome, hopefully Darkseid and Gorilla Grodd are the big figs! Can't wait for a Doomsday big fig! It would be a big let down if Lego did the CMF Gorilla style of figure. Don't get me that fig is great, but, he's no Gorilla Grodd.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Plus dc has no bigfigs at all!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Strange Sets, I've never heard of those heroes/villans. I know Green Lantern and would wish for e.g. SuperGirl. And where is Cyborg to complete the Justice League?

so I don't go broke :P

Gravatar
By in France,

Regarding 76025, the minifigs are great looking but the spaceship must have been built by a child. ;-)
Anyway, the forthcoming other sets are promising.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I believe that 76029 has a tentacled UFO-looking ship with Superman, Brainiac, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter minifigures. I do not know if the Martian Manhunter is a new figure, or the same one that was a GWP this year.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I hope the gorilla doesn't have any weird things drawn on his head. If he looks like a regular gorilla, I'll buy the set just so I can put him on top of a building like King Kong.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Black Manta and Darkseid? I don't often buy Superhero sets, but I might have to get these.
*crosses fingers that Darkseid is a big fig*

Gravatar
By in China,

Finally got rid of Batman,almost at least.And a new Double-Decker Couch?Sounds cheesy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These sets sound promising. I've been buying a lot of Super Heroes sets, but these would be most welcome if they have mostly new characters (or at least good variants). I just don't want a lot of repeats. Surprisingly I only had one repeat of Batman. I don't consider variants repeats, so that doesn't bug me. I actually prefer getting so many Batman variants and Bat villains...

And I'll gladly take another Queasy Kitty if she was included. She doesn't go too cheaply on ebay.

Gravatar

Well. I dont know who you are but you amaze me. If true. Although i am kinda bummed about Martian Manhunter since i went in first day of promotion and fought for my mini fig. But this does let everyone who missed out get one. Supergirl would be cool my kids would love that.
BUT! CYBORG! come on. just one set with Cyborg! Stupid lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

One positive thing about DC not having as many films coming out, is that we're getting TONS of great comics-inspired sets. I wish the same would be true of Marvel.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Correction. 76040 is Brainiac Attack, not 76029. There are five DC sets being released in January.

Gravatar
By in Indonesia,

Is it too much to wish that at some point we'll have minifigures of Blue Beetle III, Firestorm or B-list Teen Titans? I like that they're sort of broadening, I only hope they continue to...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

How do you know all of this? @JenniferP

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Evil Pixie Works

I also hope for a Supergirl minifigure... but since it would be in the New 52 costume, I wouldn't enjoy it as much. Still wishing we had a pre-52 Batgirl.

Gravatar
By in Taiwan,

A readily available Green Lantern is long overdue after its initial SDCC limited release. Will definitely be getting that set. I hope they will also be making Bizarro available in the near future.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really like how LEGO is Basing their sets off of LEGO Batman 3. I hope we get a Cyborg mimfig in one of these sets
