75060 UCS Slave I pictures revealed

Posted by ,

The long awaited images of 75060 UCS Slave I have finally been revealed, unusually late for what will presumably be the Autumn Star Wars UCS model.

These images were posted by just2good on his YouTube channel and will be followed by more high resolution images later. For now though, enjoy poring over the images we have so far:

It appears to include 1996 pieces and five Minifigures, although the price and release date have yet to be revealed. I imagine the press release will be here soon and answer any questions we might have.

75060 Slave I

It looks as if the UCS badge has caught on as it also appears on the box for this set following its first appearance on the packaging for 75059 Sandcrawler earlier this year.

75060 Slave I

Boba Fett now has arm printing which is new, and the Bespin Guard has never appeared before in this form either.

75060 Slave I

I am desperately looking forward to picking this set up as it looks just about perfect to me. What do you think of it?

By in United Kingdom,

That carbonite han is the best yet, but i wish they had done a lando or someone instead of the normal han.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So I guess the set being revealed in October IS the modular...hopefully

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice looking set, brilliant that Boba has arm and leg printing (since a Cloud City remake hasn't been done yet). I hope that the price will be around £150-160, but we shall see.

I haven't usually gone for UCS Star Wars, but I am sorely tempted by this.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Purely awesome, and wonderful!
I love the 8097 set, but this is whooooaaaa!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Wasn't the price officially reported as $199?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is the first Star Wars set since the Ewok Village (and it was a long time before that!) that I desire to own. Awesome.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I also see the display plaque in the small box art picture.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

That Slave 1 looks amazing! Can't wait to get it. Boba seems pretty cool as well and so do the other minifigs. That ugly Han face though… right now it doesn't even match with the carbonite Han face.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks great, can't wait to build it. This will probably be my first purchase of a UCS set, because I really, really want this one.

The only thing I wish it had was at least another bounty hunter minifigure, like Dengar or 4-LOM. The rest look fine, and the new prints for Boba, with ARM PRINTING are great.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've been wanting to do a slave 1 in this scale for a long time, so I'll get the and build a matching one for Jango.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

love it and will buy asap now we just need a release date and a price! looks like quite a few stickers though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! What an amazing model! It makes my 06 ship look REALLY outdated. Hopefully the price won't be ridiculously high. The mark-up on most Star Wars sets is atrocious.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Chewbacca with C3P0, in bits, tied to his back ???
Now that would be a unique CMF.

I do like the color scheme but I'm not sure I need one of these.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This does justice to one of the most iconic ships in the films, and they finally got the wings correct. I certainly would like this in my collection.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's very nice! And as SinKiller Nick pointed out, it appears to come with a stand and plaque like most UCS sets. Time to check the bank balance!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The set looks awesome, but I'm irked that this is another missed opportunity for a little more minifig diversity...

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The minifigs are great!
Although I had hoped for less obvious choices in characters. Would have loved a Lando, other Bounty hunters or a bespin Leia.

I am not overly ethousiastic about the model itself. I own a couple of versions of Slave 1, but the machine never had very much appeal te me.
So if I buy it, then is will be for the minifigs.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Look at all those curved plates. Wow! will make awesome parts packs and CRIMSON AATs! Especially if you use the big curved ones at the front with the smaller ones at the back...its like they did this on purpose :D

Also note that the AAT is also due for release next year. So stoked!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yup that's definitely on the must buy list!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hmm, it does look good, but it kinda seems like it's just a bigger version of 8097. Maybe it's just me but that seems a bit disappointing....
But then 8097 was really good so how would this be anything but a bigger version of it?

Printed arms Boba again after such a long wait, and a Bespin guard...
But my collection is all in the same sort of scale as 8097.

I honestly can't decide if I want this or not!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I actually want it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's going to look so good mounted on the wall in my cave.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I had the old one but it broke.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW

I NEED THIS.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yay! A proper UCS with faceplate and everything! I will be selling the minifigs on eBay, so you minifig collectors out there needn't worry!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow they really can't decide what looks best gun wise for Boba Fett! First it was a loud talker turned backward then a normal blaster rifle with a silencer (which is the most accurate to the film other than the silencer) then a smaller pistol with a more accurate silencer, now an awkward use of the ADU pistol which looks nothing like the film weapon. TBH they should've just stuck with the rifle or the pistol. Otherwise this looks good, glad to see it has a minifigure incorporation scale wise aspect to it as the vehicle was always huge anyway (unlike the oversized tumbler). The vehicle itself and the minifigures of this however look great.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Do I spy the DSS?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is awesome i just need to see the price. 200 USD would be a good price point.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm hoping this will be about 200$, because then it will be an Christmas insta-buy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, super excited about this! I just may sell my previous iteration of the Slave 1, as this puts it to shame!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If it's priced at $199, then does one assume it'll be £149 in the UK? If so I'll pick up a brace when I am in NYC in the winter.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

A must have for the collection when will it be released ???
I hope october double vip points !!!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks interesting. Has this set finally got me hooked?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like Boba's new printing -- the last print was already great but it's taken to a new level (again) this time -- one of the best looking SW figures ever!

Also, please price this at $200 and not $250 :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

No lando?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Part of me thinks Lego "leaks" this kind of stuff to gauge public opinion, so as to know what to price it at. I'm afraid all the praise will drive the price up once they release it....

Gravatar
By in United States,

The set looks quite good. The minifigures look good, but a little too detailed as far as I can tell. I realize minifigures sell LEGO these days, but this is getting out of hand. How many times do you need to update one figure?

The set is good and will depend on price before I commit. Although, it will be pushed further down the want list with all of these other exclusive sets I need.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh sweet! That new canopy part looks AMAZING! Can't wait to see how spacers integrate it on larger drop ships and cargo vessels and such.

I always get Slave-1, even though I can't stand Boba Fett or his dumb dad. Can't wait to pick this up!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very nice indeed!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Whoah think it's time to sell 8097 and upgrade to this bad boy. Looks pretty special I'm just hoping the price isn't too ridiculous...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sandcrawler, good. USC Slave 1, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must get this!!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a definite but for me. This is probably my favorite UCS set so far. I am soo glad I just sold enough to clear space for this. The level if detail is great couldn't have asked for more

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's BEAUTIFUL

Gravatar
By in United States,

Agreed @Blockland

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is the best Star Wars set of the year BY FAR. And earlier today I was wondering when they'd reveal it!

I'm not completely convinced on the custom canopy; it just doesn't look LEGO enough for me. But I'm sure Peter Reid could find a brilliant use for it, like he always does. Anyways, Boba Fett looks amazing minus the stupid gun, Han and the Bespin Guard have overdetailed faces, and I just don't see the point of adding a stormtrooper. The carbonite piece looks just amazing when you see Han's actual face, though...

For the model itself, it looks really good. All those curves, the rare colors, the level of detail... It's really sad that I can't afford this.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does the carbonite piece now count as a minifig? That seems a bit cheeky.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

An awesome,must-buy set.I am going to buy one(at least one) and I am not a big fan of Star Wars

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So, that's the Ewok Village, Sandcrawler and now Slave 1 I need to find pennies for... Gonna end up spending 1K on Lego this year - yipes

Gravatar
By in United States,

Good looking set, but with a shortage to mercs like Dengar (my fav.) and Lando, maybe even another Stormtrooper? i doubt i'll get it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

COOL! This is the best ( in my opinion ) Slave I yet. Love the new Boba Fett printing. As opposed to the older versions, the curves on the hull actually look curvy on this one. I wonder if it has any interior details? I've read about weapons lockers, bunks, containment cells, and other such things inside. Their inclusion would double my want for this one.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I'd much rather get Lando Calrissian or another bounty hunter (like the previous Slave I) than a stormtrooper, although this is still a must-buy set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have the one from 1999 or 2000, and compared to that this this is massive. haha

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the box art is beautiful, and I'm not even a box collector. It makes me want to watch the movies(Yes, I know I'm the only person in the US that hasn't seen them).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great more Star Wars junk. When will they start making UCS for Harry Potter. Where is the diversity. Like a million Star Wars UCS and one batman. And don't even start with "It wouldn"t sell as well". Seven Harry Potter films are in the top 50 of Highest grossing films compared to three for Star Wars.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Maybe I can get this in a few years...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I only count four minifigs.(Han Solo in carbinite/big piece of plastic don't count) Otherwise it a great looking set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^Harry Potter?! What about Middle-earth! There has been interest in the brand for decades and especially in the last 14 years or so. The 5 Middle-earth films are within the top 36 highest-grossing films of all time! And we still have one to go! Even so, I would like to see this UCS scale expanded into other licensed themes besides Star Wars too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where are 4-LOM and Zuckess?! This would have been a great set for one of them, or both.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Man that Boba looks awesome. Why does LEGO always have to put the cool figs in the larger sets? While it's a smart plan in terms of making money, it always bothers me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like one more Slave-I I need to get. :P

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Comparing with the playsets, it's a quantum leap in terms of appearance size and proportion.

10/10 and must buy for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Boba's new blaster is perfect in every way. The Slave I looks fantastic, almost non-LEGO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Could this mean that we will be seeing more Episode V sets, especially because of the 35th anniversary?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As much as I love the Slave I, this set looks perfect and for my taste ugly. Can there be any more large LEGO pieces? All these giant curved bricks are awful! I am missing the creativity. As D B said it looks "...almost non-LEGO". I can't agree that this is fantastic. It's rather really disappointing. I also don't see a big difference to the 8097 design wise. For a color scheme I even prefer the choice of 6209.
The Boba Fett minifig has always been the standard for the highest quality printed minifig and I'd say it sets the bar even a little higher with this one. Well done! A Lando minifg is clearly missing. Chebacca with C3-PO on his back would have been a nice touch.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Please be October release so I can get double points!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Frack stickers we really should boycott them!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'd love this but I suspect that I'll be priced out of the market by the cost of it.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Shut Up And Take My Money!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The proportions and dimensions look good - what we'd expect from a UCS set, but although the minifigs are nice I'd have preferred Slave 1 to be the same scale as the recent UCS B-Wing and X-Wing. They could have still included Boba at the scale too, just to stand on the info display board like the UCS Tumbler minifigs?

I can appreciate why folk would like 4-LOM and Zuckuss but weren't they on the bridge of the SSD? - The flavour here is Bespin and whilst IG-88 made it to the cloud city the other two bounty hunters didn't?!

We usually get a SW polybag minifig in the autumn - could it be Lando? Or, more likely someone from the Rebels theme!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Maybe we will get a UCS Cloud City 2915 since there is many people wanting a cloud city?

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

As I already have 8097, this one will stay on the shelves......as much as it is impressive, I cannot justify the purchase, esp. if over £100. Opp. cost with the Lego Creator Modulars...........I can't have it all.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This looks amazing! The model is fantastic, the boxart is very attractive!

I will be interested to see the price of this; it's only 6 pieces more than the "Ewok Village", but has far fewer minifigures. Hopefully it will be cheaper than "Ewok Village" (which was $390 here in Australia). Not sure I'd be getting "Slave I" if it were that much, which would be a great shame.

The exclusion of Lando makes me think there may be a Cloud City in the near future... after all, why not include a simple minifig who requires no new moulds, when LEGO knows how much the community is clamouring for a Cloud City remake, in part because of the Lando figure? Perhaps because they plan to release him in a later set... I hope so :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It would certainly make sense to keep Lando back for a Cloud City remake, perhaps they are really going to make a substantial version of it ( hopefully for release next year, 35th anniversary of ESB). One can only hope.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Want this so bad! So awesome!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

So far I've refused to look at anything UCS (they're cool, but there's only so much space and money), but this one might seriously tempt me...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Wow, I have not been impressed by a Star Wars set for a long time, but this one does it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks great, better than I thought it might, it will be interesting to see what the undercarriage/rear looks like and how detailed it is, and whether Lego has added some sort of a carry handle to it, I hope not as this is a UCS but Lego maybe pushing for more play features within these sets.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Yes!!! At last one of my most favourite space ships has become an UCS. This will be no. 18 in my collection.

Imo UCS models don't have to have a large playability factor. As these sets are mostly bought by grown-ups, it doesn't seem to me that they're running around the room with a space ship like this. Although the minifigs are really cool, they're not a must for these sets.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

What month will this be out in?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I guess at the end of October at the least. It's Thanksgiving in the USA on November 27. Surely Lego will have it in stores way before that date...

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The ship looks really awesome but the minifigs aren't as good as the ship really wanted a new Lando or Chewbacca here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I sill want the Ewok Village more, but can't bring myself to get it until it's at $200 with discounts, VIP points, etc. Not as instant of a buy as the R2 set, but it would make sense if it's priced similarly. I guess some people love the ship. It's not as iconic to me, but I do like Star Wars, and I like lego, and it's cool that it's not all gray and dark-side, but... $170 and I buy it tomorrow. $200 and I buy it after I get the Ewok Village. $220 and I'm waiting for something cool from the new movies.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pretty sure this is the October 6th release on the Lego store calendar.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

looking forward to this,i love the scale seeing as its correct and the figures are great

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@anthonydemello - (I've not been offline all day so this response is really late!) I think you're missing quite a few key issues.
The original Star Wars films were released a long time ago, too long ago for them to be expected to feature on modern blockbuster charts. You don't really think that's the best way to judge things do you? Everything's determined by the box office position? Say, it's actually very impressive that the first film from 1977 is number 50!
The original fans of Harry Potter are now probably university age or a little older, whereas the original fans of Star Wars are at an age where a significant number have significant disposable income and so have both the desire and the means to buy £100+ Lego sets. Sad fact of life, your time will come!
And TLG will also have their own sales figures to go on. The fact that they produce so many Star Wars UCS models shows, as much as you may protest, that they do sell.

And beyond all that, what would they do? A decent scale Hogwarts would be cool, but it would either be far too small or so huge it just wouldn't be feasible.
I'm not against UCS Harry Potter, I just don't quite see it, and your comment didn't half make me facepalm!

@Telcontar - You got the Tower of Orthanc, let's hope that's sold well and inspires more. :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

I miss the days when legos were legos, when the studs were visible, because those visible studs gave it that "rugged" look, not this...this thing.

Compare this set to the 1st slave 1 set, this is not the lego we knew growing up. Now you don't even need to PRETEND that the blasters shoot, they DO shoot. that was half the fun.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ ...and you posted your comment using a 286 PC?! Things evolve, change, progress, develop.

The studs are there to simply to connect the next brick, plate or whatever. There are folk that dislike the UCS Sandcrawler as there are too many studs showing. One of the best LEGO sets I've built is the UCS Imperial Shuttle where there's hardly any studs showing at all - still required a lot of building of bricks on top of bricks and was a lot of fun :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

My belief as that the evolving Lego Exclusive Builder is looking for something complex and sleek. Part of sleek is smoothness, and the Slave I goes to show the modern evolution of an old set. The minifigures are not the best, but the set is beyond beautiful. UCS sets are meant to be streamlined, and if you want something blocky yet still accurate go on eBay and purchase one of the three other System incarnations of this set.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I don't like this model, especially the dark red rounded bricks. They just simply don't look good side by side.
For me 8097 was a far better deal. This one is just bigger and much more expensive.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I really hope that it goes for $250 CDN and not $300 like the Ewok village.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

^
It'll either be $229.99 or $279.99, LEGO made the Canadian prices cheaper this year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, I've never gotten any of the UCS sets before (Shame I missed that gorgeous Imperial Shuttle :/ ) but I have to say, this model might just change my mind! I don't get the debate over studs vs no studs, because the model has both, with some side areas exposed and the front almost completely covered. I think its a beautiful model, but the only thing I'm not as happy about is the connection between the wings and the support struts, looks a little awkward. But, still, looks wonderful! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm thinking $200 or $220, fewer figures and about the same piece count as the village, so fewer figures=less pricy, and a 9/17-10/17 release date for VIPs, and 10/1 to 11/1 for Non-VIPs. So possible 400 VIP points coming for those who wait until October to get it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm glad Lego is finally giving this one the UCS treatment, and it does seem like a very nice rendition, but I'll admit, I've never understood the whole Slave-1/Boba Fett following. He had like 10 seconds of screen time, then basically got sent to his death by a blind Han by accident in Ep 6.

Still, very nice model, glad Lego is giving the fans what they want--now howsabout letting me complete my alphabet fighter UCS collection with an A-Wing, hmmm?? :)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

THAT CANOPY!!!!!! beautiful. now Lego, please sell it in the pab online, I'll need a few :)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

but uh oh.... that canopy ends weird on top. so is that a new grey piece it joins to? or is it to be printed with that grey or... .. sticker?$$#$%?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I tend to agree with @ra226. I know Slave 1 is considered iconic in Star Wars but to me it has always been an ugly, impractical looking ship that had hardly any screen time. I think that because Boba Fett is such a cool character his ship gets greater credit than it deserves.

Saying that it is a cool looking model.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This looks pretty awesome.
Pity about the stickers though. Assuming that the windshield and carbonite parts are printed, I can still see 19 stickers on the ship. Hopefully they will be decent quality.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

looking at the hi res close-up they appear to be transparent decals (if the front bottom stickers arent printed)

Gravatar
By in United States,

the set looks great and the minifigs looking good also. i'm sure it will be a little high on the price, so in me opinion is Lego should go away with the stickers with the collection sets and just have the decals painted on again. we are paying for something good. i do like the detail for the ship and hope its to scale with the rest of the fleet.also i don't think we should count droids and han in carbonite as a minifig.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

Why the base is in red color?

Not really know which one this refer to. Is this the father ship or the son ship. Yesterday I re-watch the 5th and still can't find any sense the base is in red.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm happy this is coming out for those who want it but not in the cards for me.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@stocklaz
This is Boba Fett's version of the ship (the son from the original trilogy).

I think the base is a very dark red in the film, almost brown/bronze-looking. It's hard to tell in the orange light of Bespin's atmosphere in the films.

Boba's colour scheme seems to generally be green and dark red (as seen on his helmet, which also looks brownish sometimes).

Most toys seem to make it brown, including previous LEGO renditions. I would say both colours are accurate. It's really a dark/faded red-brown colour.

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

Oh man, gotta get me at LEAST one of these!!! VERY COOL! I hope to score some more Bespin Guards on BrickLink once this set is in the (LEGO) stores!
And LEGO is now officially "BIGGER" than MATTEL as of yesterday, September 4th!!
GO LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yep...I still need to get the UCS X-Wing, but I may have to get this one first. Looks great!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, I especially like the new cockpit piece. Overall looks awesome.

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

I wanna get UCS ISD next year, that would be just awesome...

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks perfect. Now if it wasn't so expensive...

Gravatar
By in Finland,

This is gonna be a great set. Bespin guard is an interesting one. Slave looks cool, big and detailed.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Shame that bossk and Lando are not included. Other than that, this looks an awesome set.
