She never wore this in the first movie. This minifigure and set are based on Prisoner of Azkaban. It's an odd set, the only regular minifigure-scale one that year to not be based on an early Chris Columbus film. She's lucky to have a unique design, as Harry and Ron were reused from 75950. As an ambitious reboot of the theme, they probably ran out of new element slots. Medium legs were only being produced in China for the CMF at that time. It's strange they went so far ahead in the story with the theming of that Hogwarts Express before the rest of the theme could keep up and adjust. It's probably because the Ford Anglia was already in 75953 and they couldn't have "conflict in a box" based on Stone, unless they went to book material and included Draco for the scene where Harry chooses Ron as a friend over him, which the film moved to after arriving at Hogwarts.

What interests me is the outfit LEGO gave Hermione originally in 4723 (which I just now learned Bricklink decided was HP001) as she didn't wear that blue outfit in the first film. I wonder if there's a source for it or if LEGO made it up.

@Norikins:
No, I meant she’s dressed kinda like Harry Potter at the start of the first movie, all drab and boring.

By in Norway,

This is the iconic "sweater that still fits" which she "also" (I don't think it's actually the same one, as this one's a hoodie) wears in Order of the Phoenix and 75967.
