Great remake of the legendary tier 7782.

Did find it funny that all these first DC Superheroes sets were essentially remakes of the Batman sets

What do you expect from a hero whose Rogues Gallery largely consists of recurring escapees from a not nearly secure enough insane asylum?

Let's get out of the way that this has nothing on 7782.

That said, I briefly owned it and to this day I'm not in a hurry to get it again. The build felt very basic. But more importantly, it lacked character. The helicopter could as well be a Lex Luthor thing with that color scheme. The batwing's wings are angular and you see a grey plate stick out under the corner panels that make up the curvature in the middle. The helicopter has some flick fire missiles and the bomb underneath. And the batwing... also has flick fire missiles and a bomb or drone thing (which uses black axes to form bat wings, which admittedly is NPU).

The Joker here would appear in many more sets, as does this Batman. Which leaves the goon, which is probably the best part of the set.

Compared to the original the goon is also the only part this has in its favor. The ladder is half as long. The missiles are not hidden, nor is there room for the Joker. The Bang! flag is now a regular red flag draped over the gunbarrel. There is no display stand. The heli doesn't drop any bombs, just awkwardly flicks one big one forward. The batwing is cramped, and the wings are not nearly as sleek, and it's missing bat fins that stand up on the rear...

Some of these are a lower budget, but it feels like it also was the more comic-book esque direction Super Heroes did and in some cases just that they tried to do the same thing a different way. But on the whole, it had been done better.
