Jason Statham and Kelsey Grammer did a buddy film?

This feels really familiar, like we've seen it before, but I think it's more just a similar build style among so many sets of this time. And at the start of June, there was a very similar set https://brickset.com/article/132309/vintage-set-of-the-week-steam-shovel-with-carrier but I don't think that's what I was thinking of. Going not too far into the Vintage Set of the Week archives quickly reveals showcases that were a lot longer ago than you think, so I don't know what I'm thinking of.

Got from eBay 5 years ago, boxed for £10.50. Proper Lego. Excellent! I found the caterpillar tracks fascinating when they were new.

The steering system! Those tracks! The (not actually) dual-molded doors! The classic hinges! A magnet! The metal crank winch!

This set has it all!

I straight up love this. Those tracks look a little flimsy and probably didn't survive the rigors of play and/or time, and I get why TLG phased out the use of metal parts, but - this is just great stuff.

However, if you were to ask me right now, in person, holding this set, if I wanted to trade it for the construction-vehicle subtheme that's quietly been developing within the City-theme recently, I would politely but firmly ask you to leave my house. I don't even know you.

@Crux

The new subtheme is SO GOOD.

The crane has beams, but not the kind I associate with the word "transporter."

It is. The little sets are just joyful impulse-buys, the larger sets are impressive and invite me to dream that one day, we'll get a buildable, connectable and fully transformable Devastator.

I've unfortunately run out of space to buy the biggest sets, but that subtheme is one of the best things to come out of LEGO in recent years.
