Today's random figure is sw0246 Hondo Ohnaka, a Star Wars figure that came in one set, 7753 Pirate Tank, released during 2009.
Our members collectively own a total of 6,301 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at Brick Owl or BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $62.50.

I bought one two or three years ago for $50, the most I've ever paid for a minifig.

The fact that a drunken Hondo is trying to sweet talk the traveling circus assistants in a kids show during a story arc solely focused on child characters (The Younglings Arc of Season 5) is hilarious. I don't know how Cartoon Network let Lucasfilm get away with this even though it was a licensed show and Disney had just acquired the company a couple weeks prior, but Star Wars under George was a bit looser, and I kind of miss seeing wild juxtapositions like that these days.
It's a crime that they've never done a newer version of him.

I love Hondo! He's probably one of my favorite characters in Clone Wars, and it would be amazing getting an update! Of course, they probably need to visit a lot of other characters first like P1 Rex and Cody before him, but I would love to see him return. His tank design is also really cool. I'll just continue dreaming that the Pirate tank micro fighter MoC will one day be made...
Hondo, along with Jack Sparrow are the best fictional pirates of all time.

Wild to think that this is still the only minifig of the character. It also came in a limited release set too, so it makes even less sense that they didn't revisit the character since.
To be honest, after a while I'm more interested in SW figures than the vehicles.
I still can’t believe we don’t have an updated one. Like, one who even has a hairpiece. The only Clone Wars sets we get anymore are just… Clone Troopers. We don’t even get Separatist stuff anymore. God forbid I want to recreate anything that actually happens in the show. What am I supposed to do with the current rollout? Make those weird stop-motion battle videos that are just kinda disorganized blaster animations?

I honestly didn’t really like him in The Clone Wars but warmed up to him in Rebels. Not sure why, unless it’s maybe that he’s been somewhat humbled by the time of the latter series.
Among my favorites SW vilains minifigs. Just wish the legs were a bit more detailed and it would be perfect. I love the character too in fact.
Very good-looking minifig for 2009. Lots of the SW figs from then looked kinda uncanny.
My version of this minifig had some issues with one of its arms. Remembers anyone else this too?

Was the issue that they were brittle? Dark red parts in this era were bad that way.

I could see that. I always thought he was funny, but I didn't love how he was helping the jedi and then shifted to kidnapping Ahsoka. Granted I think the only time he helped the Jedi was when profit was involved until that youngling arc since the Maul arc happened afterwards. In Rebels, he was almost always still looking for money, but he generally took better care of his partner Lando Calrissian.

The joint of the arm was very tight and rasped against the torso.
I actually forgot I own the set this minifig comes from. I picked-up the set despite not being familar with the Clone Wars TV show after some convincing from my father. He thought that it looked cool and that's it.

If it was like that around time of release, it shouldn’t have been because of the brittle plastic disease, because that takes a few years to rear its head.
