Improvements to links to instructions

Posted by ,

As you know we provide links to instructions that LEGO publishes at its customer services portal. They are available for most sets released in the last 10 years or so but coverage beyond that is patchy.

To help you to find instructions for older sets that are published on other websites, we've teamed up with new website Swooshable.com, that maintains a list of which instructions are available where, and show this information on the set details pages, under the Instructions tab. You'll now see a list of those at LEGO.com if available, and a list of other sources. Here's a good example.

Swooshable currently lists instructions at Peeron, BrickFactory, LetsBuildItAgain and BrickInstructions so hopefully it will help you track down those that have otherwise been elusive.

Hasn't Swooshable been around for years? I certainly remember the building school side of it, though it looks updated now.

Yup, Swooshable has been around for about 4 years. It used to have lots of quirky apps - not sure if all of them are still there.

Yup, Swooshable has been around for roughly five years (time flies!). Due to life I didn't work very actively on the site between 2011 and 2014, though.

In the beginning of this year I rebuilt and relaunched it focusing on the popular and useful parts - mainly Building School, World (now split into Locations and Events to create a calendar) and SNOT Search Engine. Lots of new information has been added, and much is even updated automatically. A huge improvement, and plenty of things are in the pipeline :)

Most of the old small things are still available - check http://swooshable.com/fadmasher, http://swooshable.com/instacrit and http://swooshable.com/minifigscaler for instance.

Sorry -- I assumed it was new given the 'beta' tag :)

Swooshable is new to me! Looks like a nice resource. It was easy to navigate to some useful Building techniques.

This is great! I use the instructions on Brickset probably on average once a week, and most of what I need is there, but there are occasions where I have to search elsewhere. This is a great addition and makes the site that much more comprehensive.
THANK YOU!
