The Alternative Advent Calendar contest is now closed

Posted by ,

Our Alternative Advent Calendar contest has been running since the 19th of November and is now closed to new entries. The variety of creations submitted has been fantastic and ranges from Architecture models to X-men themed entries. The judges will be considering all of these models over the next few days and the winners will be announced on New Year's Day.

The prizes have not been decided upon yet but we will let you know when they are at some point in the next few days. Suffice to say they will be well worth winning!

It's not midnight where I am, so I assumed foolishly that I could still enter. Any chance that I was right?

@fifi forgetmenot Thanks, oh well. It was fun building the models anyway :)

By in Germany,

I do not envy the judges, I certainly would have a hard time deciding which is best, there are so many great entries.

By in Netherlands,

I did not see mine or my girlfriends calendars at first... can you see a micro scale nativity scene and six animals from an animal shelter?

@Fifi, All of the tiny buildings are 20 pieces or fewer, except the Prairie home which has 21 as pictured. (second from left)

By swapping the 1x1 tile and 1x1 brick on the roof which serve as the chimney for a single 1x2 brick puts it at exactly 20 pieces.

You can achieve a lot of detail with an economy of parts. :-)

By in Singapore,

I cannot see my entry on my PC, phone and tablet unless I sign in into my account. It is a LEGO Movie advent calendar with a Santa Emmet, Christmas Kitty (UniKitty) , Christmas Tree Micro Manager, Candy Cane Ice Cream Truck, Candy Cane Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! and a Christmas Tree Submarine. Please tell me if you see it.

Hi, good Luck to everyone. I just want to notice that my stand for Santalf in My Tolkien calendar was just use for the picture and it doesn't count for accessories. Judges, Thanks for your comprehension ;-)

Hmmm, this is disconcerting... I sure hope my entry wasn't lost. I checked Flickr a couple times on my own computer to confirm my entry was there. But today trying to show what I did on a friend's computer (w/o logging in, just visiting as a guest) and my entry isn't there. :-(
