Easter building competition

Easter Basket

LEGO is running an Easter building competition and its community team would like you to get involved:

"Our colleagues creating global campaigns have asked us to ask you to participate in this year's #LEGOEaster campaign and share your amazing pictures online using the #LEGOEaster hashtag!

As a special treat the Community Managers have decided to add a little raffle chance to win for those of you participating. So we’ve created a flickr pool where we would like everything to be pooled and also hashtagged.

Once we pass Easter, we will do a Lucky Draw between all the pooled images. We will pick 10 raffle winners, each getting a goodie bag with LEGO related Easter awesomeness and a medium sized LEGO set on top.

What’s required?

  • Take a Easter themed LEGO picture (inspiration can be found using an internet search engine or by taking a look at the work done by Stuck In Plastic and Toy Photographers or some of the other instagram communities we have here on LAN).
  • Upload and share the image online (Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc), using the hashtag #LEGOEaster
  • Share the image in the Flickr Pool RLUG #LEGOEaster Campaign as a raffle ticket for the Lucky Draw.
  • Add your first name and RLUG/RLFM affiliation (i.e. Brickset) along with the #LEGOEaster hashtag in the comment for the image to validate your Lucky Draw entry.
  • One entry ticket per picture shared in the Flickr pool – please note that you can only participate once with each image – taking pictures from different angels and uploading them does NOT give additional tickets for the Lucky Draw.

Once the Lucky Draw has been completed the winners will be contacted via Flickr Mail asking for their full name which the Ambassador for the given RLUG/RLFM then will be asked to approve as a member of their community before the prize ships."

Note that for us to check your affiliation with Brickset as mentioned above you'll need to be either a member here or the forum.

Good luck to all that enter -- it would be great to have a winner from Brickset!

If I am not a LUG member can I still participate?

@Lordmoral, you are already a LUG member by having an account here. You are the LUG member of Brickset. See the last couple of paragraphs. ;)

Thanks, that's good to know.

By in United States,

So... are we supposed to build something Easter related, then use a hashtag for Lego to see it?
I'm a bit confused - even after reading the spiel above.

Neat! One thing... A while ago, you guys said you'd be doing a contest, and the prizes would be the Bionicle art books... Whatever happened to that?

By in United Kingdom,

I know it says to take a photo, but does it need to be a physical model, or can we use LDD and stud.io etc?

I look forward to hearing what the prize is!

Some of you are thinking that this is more complicated than it is. This is not a building contest. All LEGO is looking for is Easter-themed pictures with LEGO. So if you take a picture of a LEGO bunny with a chocolate egg, that is a valid entry. If you dress up a LEGO Stormtrooper as the Easter Bunny, that's a valid entry. There is no need to build anything extensive, although you certainly could. Also, this is a raffle, so the winners will be chosen randomly. It's not like the best creation or picture wins. It's just a little fun thing to participate in, and you might even win. Take a look at the current entries already added to the Flickr Group, and you will get an idea. Have fun! :)

^^ Thank you for clarifying, I was unsure what it was about myself.

@Huw, yeah, the original announcement on the Ambassador Forum was worded weirdly. Also, to clarify, while LEGO does encourage you to share images via social media to help with the campaign, it is only through the Flickr Group that people will be entered in the raffle to win. (Although I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO runs a similar campaign and raffle directly via their Facebook Page but without any affiliation to the LAN.)

I'm not on Flickr or Facebook and after reading that it sounds like I need a masters degree in IT to figure it all out.

By in Netherlands,

So I just submit my picture with #LEGOEaster and my Brickset username in the comments on Flickr?

By in United States,

@SI15 you submit your image to the flickr group with your first name (real name), your LUG affiliation (Brickset), and #LEGOEaster. That's it. :)
