This week at Catawiki

Another LEGO auction at Catawiki ends this evening and includes a number of interesting lots, as always:

You can view all lots in the auction on our Catawiki page and if you have items to sell take a look at the guide to selling LEGO at Catawiki to find out how to get your items listed.

By in Germany,

Like always on that platform, everything overpriced. Can't understand why anyone would bid at Catawiki.

I mean, honestly, Auctioneer's estimate for the MF: €3,600 - €4,700
???
Right, good luck to the seller, trying to offload his set now that the new and improved one is about to launch. Better design, more pieces, and all for "just" 800 Euro instead of several thousands.
Who on Earth will want the old one now? What has it got going for it? Imho, nothing.

That was close. I think my Taj Mahal is more interesting then the Greengrocer again :-)

I aggree to your statement Austin Powers. If you now have one of these MF´´ s you missed the point of selling it. They will have a high fall for sure.

And to the auctioneers estimate: I dont know how the "experts" are choosen but I think you could instantly replace theme by many hundred people in this forum that know much more about pricing and values.

Most of the stuff I've followed does seem really expensive, especially when you add shipping and the 9% action fee. I do sometimes wonder who is bidding on some of these lots; MF is up to around £1000 already.

By in United Kingdom,

Out of curiosity I was watching some used UCS MF's on eBay last week and they all sold for well over £1000 with plenty of bidders. However this week there are a few listed around £500-£600 which have barely attracted a bid between them as yet.

Makes me laugh, on Ebay people are pre-ordering the 75192 falcon for up to £500 more than RRP. One guy has sold 10, so if the online max 3 per VIP is right he'll need 4 accounts to get them if he's lucky... How are some people this gullible after all, sit up tonight and order one as a new VIP yourself and pay the Lego price..... Don't get the 2nd market, really don't who actually pays this. Granted the one on Ebay signed (which was a Force Friday winner will go for a premium), but the rest.... just why pay £850+ to an Ebay to pre-order when you can become a VIP yourself for free and try and order one online yourself.... Just don't get it !

I think there are either
a) too many idiots with way too much money on their hands around nowadays
or, even more realistic
b) fake deals en masse, i.e. sales that are not real and just fabricated to artificially inflate prices

The monorail track auction is a bit of a good bargain though - your average turnout is £26 each, plus the same again for the respective half curve track which will have the matching special end to connect to the spur.

I'm currently winning but I'm going to keep an eye on it to see where it heads; limited budget but man, that auction would pretty much finish all the monorail track I need... aside from straights...
