Woah, where did this come from? I don't remember seeing this on any calendar. This also seems longer than I'm used to.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I've been waiting for a double VIP day to buy Ninjago City as a gift. Now to find time to sneak off to a Lego store and find a way to hide a giant set for 2 months...

The USA site says that the double points is only for new VIP members. Am I reading something wrong here?

^ You need to log in to your account, perhaps?

By in Germany,

I got double points with being a VIP member for while.

Finally. I've been waiting purchase a few larger sets during double VIP and it hasn't been listed on any calendar. I was a little worried I'd have to wait until October or that they won't going to do a double VIP event.

Yay, Hulkbuster and Ship in a Bottle are mine!

I thought double VIP points were only for those with black Star Wars VIP cards? Oh no, my mistake, anyone can get double VIP points making the exclusive black card 'offers' somewhat lame.

If only the Falcon and 2xVIP would occur simultaneously now...

^ Apparently it did today. Would have much preferred an equivalent £65 off instead of a useless black plastic card

Aside from it being Out Of Stock again (it was in stock yesterday) actively excluding 75192 UCS MF from this promo is taking the mick! I mean I can put £650 worth of sets in my basket and get double VIP points on the lot so why not that set on its own?

I was waiting for such a promo and hoping for stock but alas neither is happening ... maybe I’ll just spend that money elsewhere?!?

I honestly expected better from TLG

If you expected better, than shame on you for not knowing the true LEGO.

In stores also apparently, at least in the US (Providence, RI)

By in United States,

Coincidence that this came just after Toys-R-Us announced its complete shutdown and hence sell-off? I think not.

^^^What does "taking the mick" mean?

^What? This has been planned for a few weeks now as store employees were telling people the end of March would have double points even though it wasn't on the calendar.

By in United States,

They have this sale nearly every year at this exact time. Same as Oct 15-31. Don't know what everyone is complaining about.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, that's lousy, you're right the new MF (and -only- the MF) is excluded! Oh well, silly thing's never in stock anyway...

“Taking the mick” is, er, short for taking the mickey. Which means being a bit cheeky and playing someone for a fool. I’ll let you work out which is the fool here: LEGO or the customer :)

By in Australia,

Keen to know how “excited” everyone is for Double VIP.
When I lived in London and could walk into a LEGO store I found it somewhat interesting and compelling.
Now back in Australia and no Lego store nearby I look at it and think , well department store just had 20% off and as a result picked up a couple of the modulars (Brick Bank and Detectives Office).

@AussieSamurai I tend to go for the GWP if there is an exclusive set I want, otherwise I tend to go discount hunting on Amazon or Smyths - the double points usually can’t match them for value.

Woot woot! Been waiting for this one, thought Id have to wait til at least May! Finally ordered 70620 Ninjago City!

By in United Kingdom,

...which is a good example - I got Ninjago City with one of the Lego promotions ( probably 2xVIP) then Smyths took £60 off it recently. I think I was assuming that it would be an exclusive at the time. I could have bought something decent with the difference.
The problem with doing this is that there have been sets I have waited for that never saw a discount and I missed out on, but on aggregate I have ended up with more bricks for my cash.

By in United States,

Just bought the Ninjago City set yesterday at the Colorado Mills store in Lakewood CO... and was promptly credited with $30 in VIP rewards "cash" and I am an existing VIP member, so in my case, the comment about it being only for "new VIP members" was not the case in my instance.

Happy Shopping!
