An image of this hitherto unknown City Arctic set, 60196 Arctic Supply Aircraft, has surfaced on a Croatian certified store website.

This is the first official image of the sets to appear: we are still eagerly awaiting official images of the other six: I suspect they'll be found in the next couple of weeks. We'll post them here when they are.

Thanks to sstruk for the news.

I kinda wish they changed the color scheme up from the 2014 Arctic line. It's essentially the same with the addition of dark blue. I suppose that'll be helpful to those who want to build a large Arctic layout, so good for them!

Wow, I really hope that all of the sets receive cool animals.

By in United States,

I am highly excited for and can’t wait for that new spinning saw piece. Once the sets release, a news article on how they work or what they are would be nice.

No propellers?! How’s that thing supposed to fly, hopes and dreams?!?

By in United States,

I hope that LEGO does another arctic wave of sets, the 2014 one was very underrated.

Justanotherfan, LEGO will never change the color. Police is blue, criminals are dark red, Fire is red. Arctic is orange, divers is yellow. It's so if you were a 5 year old in 2014 and now 9 all your Arctic sets match. It's a good idea. I do like the dark blue, so that's a nice change.

I'm curious to what color do wish they came in?

It's nice but really odd jet engines? Very odd. Also going to cost an insane amount of money.

Sabre tooth tiger!

By in Canada,

@BraydenApple they do (mostly). I cannot see anything on 60190. 60191 has a husky dog. Some sort of new rodent for 60192. A tiger for 60193 - same as 60196 (saber toothed???). 60194 has a polar bear and a husky dog. 60195 comes with a wooly mammoth (and another blade and an orange train door).

Indeed very odd jet engines...

By in Canada,

When do we hear about The summer 2018 Technic Sets? We have pictures of almost all other themes. We are already in late April and we have no news about what's coming in August?!?! Very poor marketing strategy Lego.

By in Australia,

So if they're pulling frozen Arctic animals out of the ice, at what point do they excavate Sir Fangar or Vardy or Maula?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Will they find Captain America, for a City/Marvel crossover?

By in Canada,

@ Zordboy How about Ötzi, the frozen iceman found in the Alps in 1991?

By in United States,

David1985 good point. It would have been nice to see them maybe do another shade of orange I suppose, but it's not too big of a deal.

@David1985 They don't *always* stick to the same colors. Police is a good example, actually. In more recent years blue has indeed been predominant, but in 1998 it was black and green. Even recent iterations have varied in the amount/hue of blue, and added in more white, black, or even tan.

I understand the LEGO company for repeating themes in CITY but when are they going to go back to farming? It has been almost 10 years since we have seen farming sets in CITY and I was under the impression that eating food was a "NEED" item of a species existence.

By in Hong Kong,

First of all, yes! Another series of Farming please, with lots of animals, and not just tractors!
But back to Arctic, I'm very pleased to see a new wave of this theme but it would be nice to have a few more cool basecamp and outpost sets (or mixed in with sets), not just vehicles (though I can understand the marketing reasons); 60035 from the last wave was an affordable lttle gem. And yes again, animals! Orange is a great Arctic colour in my opinion and not tired of it yet!

By in United States,

Converting the price to USD makes it $99.48, which seems about right for 707 pieces, with the usual plane pieces in there causing the high-ish PPP.

By in Denmark,

Thw question is: will we be able to collect the entire ICE AGE crew?

By in United Kingdom,

This is a god one maybe add some Taun-tauns or a yeti and were golden...

Oh my goodness! 2014 city arctic was the first theme I really got interested in after I got back into lego! So excited!

By in United Kingdom,

That vehicle on the right corner looks pretty awesome might pick this set up when it comes out.

By in United Kingdom,

Looks great & I'm looking forward to the themes return.
I was in the middle of converting the Forest Tractor 60181 to have tracks and a pivoting cab. Interested to see Lego's own configuration of this set-up.
Spinning cutting blades never felt that successful to me as their use was limited and obviously they can only pretend to cut through Lego in a way that wasn't 100% convincing. . Hopefully the vehicle will come with an interchangeable attachment like a bucket, hook or grapple.

By in Netherlands,

This jpg looks a bit dull, which initially made me think this new version of the theme didn't look as good as the previous one, lacking contrast partially due to the removal of the white lines cutting through the orange and grey. But having seen other, better pictures of some of the other sets in the theme, I've come to really appreciate the new color scheme, and the addition of the dark and light blue which really helps.

I also really, REALLY like the frozen prehistoric animals idea. That's way better than the simple crystal collection thing in the last line, which frankly has been repeated over and over in the past 20-ish years and was starting to get a bit stale.

By in United States,

I like the look of the animals in these sets but honestly the designs of the vehicles just aren't doing anything for me. They don't look even remotely realistic, or even plausible.

By in Croatia,

You can already order it! If you are from Croatia.

By in Sweden,

OK, its a deal!
I get a frozen mammoth - you get my money!

Really happy they continue this theme in the same orange way as 2014!

By in Puerto Rico,

This may be a line I avoid but I see some cool pieces that I will buy from the Brick a Piece.

Guys, they are uncovering the remains of Chima!

@TheVisionIslandsReed: It's possible that the 2009 Farm sets just didn't sell all that well. If they had I imagine we'd at least have seen more farm vehicles in the Great Vehicles series by now. It's also possible that a lot of their appeal was with girls and as such the Friends theme has been better able to satisfy that demand. Certainly sets like #41026, #41029, #41039 and #41126 seem to have a similar rural/agrarian setting.

I like the addition of Earth Blue and Dark Azur to these sets' color schemes. It's also neat to see totally different types of vehicles than the previous Arctic wave. I am curious what sort of real-world inspiration the designers looked at when creating these sets, though, since a lot of what I've seen is stuff I'm not familiar with from real life.

By in United States,

The plane looks very make-believe. That’s not necessarily horrible but in City I prefer the stuff that’s more grounded to reality. I was less into the Volcanic theme and the recent Construction sets.

I was hoping for a plane in this Arctic wave that was bulky, like a Lockheed LC-130H Hercules.
