By in United Kingdom,

75221 looks REALLY Over-Priced. Got the original 2007 model (7659) back when it came out, and would prefer the old one any day at the RRP of £48 instead of £90! (and that one came with four stormtroopers too)

By in France,

Just to make me lie (arguing that we have had so many X-wing versions since 1999) we have at last a new set that has been released long ago and just once before with this Landing Craft, and I am glad to see it coming. Have to see what it offers in terms of building, playability and so, but this is a very welcome new set. From what I can see I like it. A bit expensive (as usual?) maybe but I like it so in universe and it's lego rendition too. This one will come to complete my collection. Advent Calendar too, even if years after years I'm getting a bit fed up with tiny and often repetitive models (even if 2017 was a good version with many new ones). Still interested in minifigs. But Friends and SW calendars have become a tradition we love to share with my daughter so it will be ordered on December as well.

By in Sweden,

Really disappointed that the advent calendar doesn't have a special christmas character this year.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love the Hoth Medical Chamber. It will go nicely with my #75098 Assault on Hoth set! :-)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

advent calendar no santa? omg

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I quite like the Advent Calendar. Most of those ship microbuilds look really good!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The advent calendar definitely peaked the year before last with the snow-Chewie, exclusive droid, a whole bunch of great (and rare) army building figures and no gun racks. This one looks terrible... A couple of battle droids (even if one is IG88, a completely redundant character from the worst Star Wars movie ever (Rose), the little guy from the cartoon and no exclusive Christmas minifig!!!??? It was bad enough that all we got last year was BB8 with a hat. What is that at the end? A Festivus tree? Glad to see the gun racks making a return as well /s

By in United Kingdom,

Where on Earth does the Imperial Landing Craft appear?

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Just love the medical chamber!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Medical Chamber look like a nice little build and some great figs. Isn't that Leia pretty much exclusive to the UCS Falcon so far, but presumably without the respirator as a reverse print? Odd that 21-B is in the Sandcrawler as well. I guess Lego wanted to get it's money's worth. Loving bacta Luke as I could never quite pull the trigger on that particular Hoth set.

And no visor on the rebel helmet? Very conflicted about the new helmets. I guess things evolve over time but it's a bummer when your entire collection suddenly becomes dated.

Not liking the big gap at the sides of the Landing Craft. It looks like someone has stuck a half open glasses case to the side of the ship.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Another fantastic advent calendar! They always provide great inspiration for microbuilding.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For me, as always an excellent Advent Calendar, most people seem to want more figures, or more ships or more racks but its always a compromise. I will do what I always do buy in October and complete in October (Nov at the latest)/ Want the medical chamber and cant see the point of the Landing craft. I don't own a shuttle yet but no chance this is a substitute.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think the advent calendar is quite cool this year - it has a nice selection of mini-figs - from a selection of different movies/cartoons... and the micro-builds are getting better and better each year. I like the ingenuity that goes into those ~20 piece builds - that are able to make a recognisable model...

And people have been asking for a SW-0608 and also for Cloud city... you get both for just £30!

By in Germany,

I was wondering how i missed 75221 in ANH, turns out its a "Special Edition"-addition. Pretty overpriced and the Minifigs are easily available in smaller sets. All in all some easy passes for collectors, but pretty cool as playsets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

well these are better than the first lot out this morning!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

@jmupton2000 Not on Earth, not even on Tattooine, but above Tattooine :p (in the Special Edition of the "Look sir, droids"-scene...)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Wait, that umbrella-thing is supposed to be cloud city? That is pretty hilarious.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No special Xmas figure AND it comes with Tico? HARD PASS lol.

Hoth set is interesting, especially for anyone wanting to expand their dioramas.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Landing Craft looks good. The other 2 are a bit meh!

Gravatar
By in United States,

At first glance I thought the snowman with a rebel helmet was a snow-wampa! I'm a little disappointed that it's not.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Hoth Medical Center is perfect. The only Hoth set I still needed at this point. Something to put behind those blast doors from 2007.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Imperial Landing Craft!!!! I never thought they would make another one of those!!! It looks amazing but I'm surprised it's not Rebels themed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Medical Chamber is great. Everything in the set I recognize from the movie, and I love the little details.

After a few years in a row of the advent calendar, I'm going to skip it this time. Not interested in the mini models and I don't like the minifig selection. The festive moisture vaporator is absurd (that's the most Christmassy thing they got?!) and the Cloud City build is a joke.

The Imperial Landing Craft is pretty nice but I also notice the gaps around the ship. I will have to look at images from the movie and compare. My problem with the set is the price. Seems too expensive for what we get!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Landing Craft looks good, just not sure about the minifig selection for it

I'm assuming that's Merrick's helmet on the snowman

Gravatar
By in France,

Last year's calendar was a good surprise. Looking more closely at this new edition drives me to disappointment. At least 5 mini builds we already had once, no Santa nor Christmas specific minifig but what looks like a Christmas (green) version of a "humidity vaporator" (sorry I can't find its true name in English). And what is this grey built at the far right end? That cannot be a micro Cloud City can it? :/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's funny. I really like, and was drawn to, the Cloud City build with the clever micro micro pod car.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wow, no Advent Calendars for me this year. Landing craft is nice but the rear wings seem a bit short

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that supposed to be "broom boy" in the Advent set? Otherwise, some really good mini models this year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A mini Arrowhead! Yes! Rowan in the same set! Double Yes!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

What's the yellow element on the top of the Christmas Tree Vaporator? I can't work it out.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That advent calander has some nice figs. Don't get why they're making a medical bay set since most of the Hoth Echo Base sets came with one anyway.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

jmupton2000 The Imperial Landing Craft has never appeared on Earth to my knowledge, it's a fantasy vehicle ;P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Love the advent calender and medical chamber, well done lego the builds included in the calender are great.. 10/10.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new calendar looks great in terms of minibuilds. The minifigs are ok. The landing craft looks interesting but the price is far too high. The medical chamber just doesn't hold that much interest for me apart from the medical droid.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Advent Calendar 'Christmas character' is the rebel pilot snowman? Unless IG-88's eyes are baubles :)

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Love the medical chamber. Easy way to get a Leia.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Hoth set is something that, in my opinion, they clearly got right. Keep making add-ons with minis that have not been released for years as to further build on the recently released big boy and other Hoth sets. I'll be grabbing one for sure. Advent is okay, I'll find it on discount at some point and get it. For the shuttle, definitely seems overpriced, will have to confirm if any of the minifigs are new prints or not before I'd get it. If I can find it on sale, would probably purchase.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Hoth Medical Chamber stole my heart. I'd love more vignettes like this!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I love the Imperial Landing Craft, got the original on the cheap a few years back (30 Euros!), and while this new one looks like a definitive upgrade, the lack of Stormtroopers is pathetic. The point of the vehicle is to be a troop transport, so why the lack of troops? Sure, the Obi-Wan is nice, but they shouldn't have included R2-D2 over another stormie. Bad showing by Lego.

Some of the stuff in the advent calendar is unrecognizable, but then I assume those models are from the Freemaker Adventures (or the sequel trilogy). Lack of a special festive character makes it a hard pass.

Hoth Medical Unit looks great, surprised they made a set out of it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These all look decent (including the other four) but they’re so overpriced especially in comparison to the new HP sets.... I’ll have to pass till discounts on amazon start appearing. The only exception is the Hoth Med chamber, which is a cute little model and would be great for Lego to expand on it... make up for the Assault on Hoth set they tried to make

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hoth set looks good, the advent calendar looks pretty cool as well. I’m assuming the snowman’s head is not new given the reaction of “no new Christmas figures”?

Looks like the moisture vaporator is a tree with a star on top. Not exactly a figure though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just when I think I'm almost done collecting SW, boom, pow, LEGO pulls be back in. Hoth Medical Chamber looks like a great little build, which will some day be incorporated into my Hoth Rebel Base MOC (which is still in dreaming stages lol). The figs are nice, although repeats for me. I don't have an FX-7 Droid so that will be a welcome addition. I've bought every SW Advent Calendar so far, so won't stop the tradition now. Yet this years' does look a bit disappointing. I pretty much only care about the minifigures in them and can do without having extra IG-88's, Rowan Freemakers', and more Battle Droids. The rest of the minifigure line-up is wantable enough, although not 40.00 enough. So as in the past, I will wait for a discount. The new Imperial Landing Craft looks great, save for those awkward gaps on the side pods. However, is it twice as good (it's twice the price) of my 2007 version? I don't think so; only two Sandtroopers, an unneeded Obi-Wan, 50th copy of R2-D2, and a generic Imperial Officer... I'll wait for a really good sale on that one. So in all I'd say a nice wave, yet overpriced... yup pretty standard for SW LEGO these days.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only one that calls my attention now is the Landing Craft and I already have one. Obi Wan and R2-D2 are so unneeded here and as such onw of two things: no but or a serious discount.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I mean..the Hoth bacta tank is pretty nice, and will be discounted sooner or later to 20€ or less.
The Advent calendar is disappointing: some good models, but no Christmas character and mostly "meh" figures, except for the blonde pilot Merrick. I need to figure out how to get him.

As for the Sentinel, I would've bought it if they had:
a) not made the unsightly gaps at the sides, makes it look terrible
b) put in an actual Imperial pilot (think of an update of the one from the 2001 Lambda), instead of the cheap crewmember (no, it's not an officer), who we've had several times now.
c) replaced R2 and maybe even Obi-Wan with 2 more Stormtroopers.
d) set the RRP at 60€ instead of 100

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The Tydirium Shuttle was 100€, with 934 pieces and 5 very good and 4/5 exclusive figures. The Landing craft is not half as attractive as this to me, easy pass. Same goes for the advent calendar. The Hoth set is not half bad, but compared to Vader Transformation or Yodas Hut, there aren't any play features and I think it should have another minifig, like Han (who is rare in his blue jacket) or Snowspeeder pilot Luke, plus a switch feature for both the minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Landing Craft looks ideal should you have two bars of soap to transport...

I'd much rather see a TIE transport / bomber or better yet the triple-hulled TIE landing craft that Marvel comics came up with.

@Maxximus, the child with the lightsabre is Rowan, from The Freemaker Adventures.

I'm pretty sure the printed snowman head is new, and is long overdue from LEGO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The gap on the Imperial Landing Craft really bugs me. I'll have to fix it when I get the set.
I have two of the original version and I've been planning to make a MOC of a larger Landing Craft that would carry four of the smaller AT-STs from the "Endor Bunker" set, plus speederbikes and a whole mess of troopers.
The bacta chamber is cool and a great add-on to Hoth sets.
Advent calendar spoilers! I don't wanna know what's in them until I open each compartment!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Joefish A TIE bomber or TIE interceptor that matched the current ship sizes/designs would be amazing.

I forgive the split in the sides of the landing craft because it seems to reflect the design. Sort of an intake vent or something.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I wish I had more Hoth themed Star Wars sets, because I quite like the Hoth Medical Chamber and it looks like a good value.

I like they included more prequel and clone wars era vehicles in the Advent Calendar.

The Imperial Landing Craft looks a bit bulky and looking at the price I hope there’s a lot more inside the vehicle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely gonna buy the Imperial Landing Craft once it goes on sale on Amazon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Landing Craft looks good, but the common criticism I see is the minifig selection. You know what would have been better? Rebels characters. We never got Season 3 and 4 Ezra, never got Governor Pryce, and we never got Rukh, and throw in a few disposable Stormtroopers and you would have had a winner of a set if we still didn't gripe about the price. Yeah, sure, people don't like Rebels, but the Rebels fans don't have anything past Kanan and Thrawn from the Phantom II after the new character introductions and redesigns. I know it would have made me want the Landing Craft if I ever got past the price.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I really love that medical chamber... certainly because it contains... a new princess! Finally, although it looks very similar to the one in de UCS MF, I'll get one anyway! :-)
Not impressed however by the landing craft... that one looks like a set of 2000, not 2018.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Joefish.. Cheers to your bars of soap comment making me chortle loud enough to attract accidental attention from coworkers!

The Hoth medical set definitely appeals to me.. But then I think about things like Han's carbonite chamber which I assembled exactly once, thought "neat" and has lived in parts bins since. So I dunno. The figures are really cool though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This advent calander looks very mediocre if you ask me, but I've never really been too into 'em anyway. While I've warmed up to the design of the Imperial Landing Craft, the extremely weak minifig selection and extraneous price will hold me back from getting it until a significant discount.

On the other hand, I love the Hoth Medical Chamber. It's such an odd choice for a wide release Lego SW set, but it's a really nice one. I can finally add a Princess Leia to my collection (from a cheap set at that!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The 75203 doesn't look bad. Not sure if I'll get it though.

75112 looks cool, but for that price point, it had better do something pretty neat otherwise I'll pass on that as well.

The advent calendar doesn't do a thing for me. The last two have been a bit of a dud if you ask me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I need that Merrick fig. Probably won't get the advent calendar though so I'll have to hunt him on ebay.

I like the Hoth set but it seems a strange choice. Can probably pass on it. It's not like bacta tank Luke is a must have.

The old landing craft was my first Star Wars set. From this image alone I prefer the old one. The cockpit looks off. I'm not sure how accurate it is but I think that big gap on the front of the passenger part looks wrong. I wish they would stop giving us Ben Kenobi. It's not even a good fig and I already have two identical ones. And I shouldn't even have to say how pointless the R2 fig is in this set. He's in the X-Wing and Anakin's Starfighter as well as loads past sets. Just give us more Sandtroopers.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

"Hoth Medical Chamber" might be worth the money for the minifigs alone.

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Cloud City in the Advent Calendar...all but confirms that a UCS is coming!!!

That said...this range is nice...awaiting 3 SOLO sets and 2 SOLO Polybags that are classified until they leak.

Are these the Summer sets? I thought with the release of SOLO, the wave that is out, NOW, is Summer... these sets are Fall?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can’t believe they had the gaul to put Rose Tico in the advent calendar. I’m kind of pumped about the medical center. I always liked that part of the Echo base sets, but I never wanted to pick up either of those.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like that there’s Rogue One influences in the Advent Calendar, does this mean we may get some more R1 sets in the future? Hope so, the film’s really grown on me with time and much prefer its vibe to Ep7/8. Much darker. And what’s not to love about Death Troopers...

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are microscale versions of the landing craft and AT-ACT from Rogue One, plus a Cloud City, which we haven't gotten official LEGO versions of at all or in 15 years. Hmmmm....

I like these sets but I probably won't buy them considering all of the other fantastic stuff coming out this summer... X-Wing, Harry Potter, cool Technic stuff, various roller coasters, Sandcrawler, and so on.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This advent calendar I have mixed feelings for. It is sad there is no festive minifig. Putting a battle droid in is a waste and some people may not like a rose but I could use one. The mini builds are pass or fail some are quite nice like the general grevious starfighter but the festive moisture vaporator and cloud city are crummy.

The hospital is very nice but it is not something I am looking for.

The landing craft I have no interest in but looks pretty good but a bit overpriced.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The landing craft is really cool-looking, but the minifigure assortment seems a little odd. This would have been a great set to finally include Garindan!

The Advent calendar has some nice mini-builds, but the figure selection is disappointing.

Lastly, I love the Hoth set! Playsets are underrated in my opinion, and how often is Princess Leia included in an affordable set? Definitely picking that one up!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@jmupton2000 the Imperial Landing Craft has appeared for the past four years in Star Wars Rebels. It looks Great.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, the Hoth Medical chamber looks really good, especially for brickfilms!

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is the worst Advent Calendar ever, counting the 2018 Friends one.

But what am I saying, I’ll buy it anyway, and on second thought that is an awesome cloud car

Gravatar
By in United States,

Holy crap! It's Cloud City! Lego FINALLY DID IT!!! And it sucks beyond belief...

I'll probably pick up the Medical Chamber though, it's the best of this lot.
