75952 Newt's Case of Magical Creatures revealed!

Posted by ,

The Danish LEGO product catalogue for the second half of 2018 has been published and features a new image of 75952 Newt's Case of Magical Creatures, based upon Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

This set contains a model of Newt Scamander's suitcase along with Tina and Queenie Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski and Newt Scamander himself, the first two of whom are incorrectly labelled in the catalogue. A Thunderbird, an Erumpent, a Niffler and an Occamy are also included. The set is priced at 449,00 DKK so I expect it will cost around £49.99 or $49.99 in the UK and US.

News via The Brick Fan. Thanks to Master of Lightning for bringing it to our attention.

By in Belgium,

I will definitely buy this set! The Thunderbird and the Occamy look like fantastic animals (sorry for the word joke). The Erumpent is less beautiful but the set, the minifigures and the Niffler make me go and buy the set. I can not wait!!!

Is it just me or does it seem like Lego made the new Newt Scamander to old?

By in United Kingdom,

£49.99 seems like super good value for this (I was expecting something more like £70)...this wizarding world line is going to bankrupt me

@dvw2

Yes, you are correct ;) Hopefully that mistake is only in the catalog.
Definitely will buy this when it comes out!!

How come does it not have Dumbledore, though? He seems to be vital for the story from the trailer.

@ Isaac The Animator

Because this is a set from the first movie. Dumbledore makes an appearance in the second movie.

By in Puerto Rico,

The creatures are awesome, when are we getting the Krayt Dragon and Bantha from SW brick built?

By in Netherlands,

I like the case closed, but the beasts doesn't seem to fit inside.

By in Australia,

I have been waiting for more Fantastic Beasts sets. Should I give up hope for a set with a 1920s car and some of the main characters (to use their old fashioned clothes)?

Kinda late release for the money grabbing franchise.

By in United Kingdom,

Gotta get the Niffler.

By in United States,

Am I the only one who noticed 75950 Aragog in the forbidden forest, in the catalog? The suitcase looks amazing too (niffler:).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, that is really clever, I'm sold.

JK Rowling posted a picture on twitter some time ago holding that Niffler.

@Somnium- How so? The second movie releases this year and this is from one of the best scenes in the first movie, which they made no sets for.

This set is much better than I expected! I didn't think brick0built animals would look good but the Occamy and Thunderbird are incredible. I like the molded heads (they look good on the Elves animals too) because I just don't think brick-built heads look great, such as on the newer Ninjago dragons. I'll definitely pick this up on day 1.

Nice idea, but rather poor execution.

Looks good!

What about “Aragogs hule”, look in the catalogue!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Just tried to look at it, appears to have been removed!

Edit: Just looked through the Korean catalogue that one is still there

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I don't even like the wizarding world that much but I'm highly considering getting this set

By in United States,

This set turned out much better than I expected. I thought it was just going to be an empty brick built suitcase with a few pollybag style creatures to put inside, but we've got a fully opening diorama, all four main characters, three (almost) full scale and well crafted beasts, and a mold for the Niffler! I was probably going to get this anyway, but it has completely surpassed my expectations. Taking into consideration the other set revealed for The Crimes of Grindlewald the only things we're really missing from the first film are the Botruckle, that invisable ape thing, Creedence/some of his family, and the bartender Goblin.
