LEGO has revealed a third San Diego Comic-Con exclusive on Twitter, 75997 Ant-Man and the Wasp. This exclusive set includes the same Wasp figure as 76109 Quantum Realm Explorers alongside a large scale model of Ant-Man's head and shoulders.

The packaging is unusual, resembling a video cassette tape box, so matches the other San Diego Comic-Con products for 2018. You can take a look at the packaging after the break...

Have you been impressed with the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive sets this year? Let us know in the comments.

By in United States,

Just saw the movie last night, I love this. I like the theme of no exclusive minifigures (so far) and yet pleasing and/or comical builds for those who do wish to obtain these.
This is my favorite one yet.

I love Ant-Man, but if I went to this SDCC I would feel really cheated; there have been excellent sets in the past, super exclusive minifigs, but this year it's all a bit uninspired. I'm sure people on here could do a better Ant-Man bust than that, and throwing in the affront of a minifig that is Wasp (with the highly inaccurate helmet) is taking the mick.

I may be mistaken, but these have all just been reveals of the sets you can buy. There will still be minifigures that they give away for free on alternating days - like last year with Duckpool and Vixen. These sets are in lieu of getting the Detention Block Escape at SWCO2017 and the Supergirl/Martian-Manhunter & Spiderman/Venom Brickheadz from SDCC2017.

My wallet would definitely welcome Lego ending the minifigure give-aways, but I will be shocked if they do since they've been at it since 2012. Thankfully, in 2014 they dropped it down to one DC and one Marvel character each year.

By in Denmark,

Oh - this one is nice!

Tempting to try to build the rest of the body in large size.

This would actually be a fun set to go out and buy like a regular product. It's doing something different. But the fact that it's a difficult to get and probably horrendously-priced con exclusive pretty much rules it right out.

Some people will agree, while others will disagree, but I find these SDCC exclusives disgraceful in the fact that Lego doesn't do a separate re-release of these small sets for the general public after the event.
Some of these SDCC sets are great creations and would make wonderful editions to collections. Keep the SDCC packaging unique for those able to make the event, but when the event is concluded, add these as regular sets in standard packaging for everyone else to purchase and enjoy.

I didn't get into Lego because it's collectible.

Value due to scarcity is not a bad thing if the scarcity is due to real limitations like "we only had the means to produce x number of sets in 1978 because we only had one factory and a strained budget" or whatever.

But manufactured scarcity is something different entirely. Kind of boring honestly. I worked at a toy store when Phantom Menace was released. Kids are smart enough not to care, but every adult who came in to buy Star Wars figures bought an extra one to leave in the package because "it's gonna be worth A LOT of money someday.."

Indeed. Yours & the other 50% that were produced.

@Golem25 You live in the Netherlands. I live in the U.K. If there are exclusive figures neither of us can get them.

That hideous lazy Wasp's helmet again? Yeah, I surely can live without this.

I’m excited to see what Just2negative has to say about this!

By in United States,

I wonder if this head is the same scale as the Antman brick built fig from the Airport Battle? That is, are the heads interchangeable?

By in United States,

Absolutely love this set! I'll be tracking down the instructions and parts to create my own.

By in United States,

Just what I always wanted!!! Yet another STUPID lazy Wasp figure!!

By in Canada,

I notice that all the parts are common (with exception of the wasp who is not exclusive to the set) so I will defiantly be tracking down the parts

By in Australia,

Where’s the rest of Ant Man?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

That giant bust really doesn't look much like Ant-Man, and that's not even mentioning the Wasp's costume. So, yeah, not much here that we're missing.

Proof that LEGO knows that Ant-Man's helmet is supposed to cover his whole face!

By in United States,

I HATE that Lego makes anything exclusive to SDCC. There are a ton of other conventions out there and SDCC is especially overrated (and overcrowded) in recent years. Share the love with other cons!
