Bricks by the Bay this weekend!

Posted by ,

Bricks by the Bay is one of the largest LEGO conventions on the West Coast and one of the largest displays of MOCs in Northern California. Tomorrow is the first day of this year's event, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Thursday - Friday is geared exclusively toward registered attendees. There are activities for registered attendees on Saturday and Sunday as well, but in case you haven't registered, you can still experience Bricks by the Bay during the public exhibition: Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This is the 9th year of Bricks by the Bay, and the organizers have chosen another great theme this year: Animation. I'm looking forward to see the amazing MOCs created for this show!

I'll be there on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so if you're attending, please say hi. I love meeting fellow Bricksetters! I'll be the only MeganL there with a Brickset brick on her name badge.

Hope to see you there!

I'm sad to be missing this, I'm moving to San Francisco next month! Looks like I'll just have to make sure to attend next year. :)

Would be good to meet some local AFOLs when I've settled in, what are the main LUGs in the Bay Area? We'll be living near downtown SF.

The main one is BayLUG-

Sadly the meetings are in the wider Bay Area rather than San Francisco, but that's understandable given the difficulty of getting space in the city. On the other hand, at least there's a downtown Lego Store, as of a couple of years ago. Which is generally good, except for the impact on my wallet.

San Francisco? Gross! I hope it’s away from the polluted touristy areas. There’s some handy apps to help you avoid the worst of the, uh, “organic” street waste.

Stay safe and don’t get stuck!
