Interesting that it's appears to not be available through the LEGO site.

By in United States,

Oh wow this is awesome! The price is a little steep imo, but I'll definitely be getting this at some point!

Gravatar
By in United States,

So is the $25 because its a limited release? Strange that they are using the in-game concept of 'skins' to create this limited figure. If I were a betting man, I'd dare say that this same figure albeit in a different color scheme is going to pop up in a cheaper retail set next year. Although that exclusive tag is going to drive a lot of collectors nuts for this version.

By in United States,

Not really interested or impressed at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Warframe > Overwatch

Gravatar
By in United States,

Listening to the criticizers is really entertaining. In for 2.

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

I dont get it.. why would LEGO invest into a dedicated, micro website for Overwatch - if not offering it by themselves? So LEGO is to incredibly wealthy that now can support and fund any obscure external partner?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No idea what overwatch is (and im too old to learn now) but that model looks average at best. It might be really accurate but it still doesn't interest someone like myself who collects all lego mechs. A little dissappointed tbh.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have no idea what Overwatch is (I thought it was that scalextric type racing game) but bought one anyway, I'm a Stickler for an exclusive .......

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not into gaming / Overwatch so I'm not the target market for this but I was curious to compare it to the source material...the model seems very lacking. Lego as a medium is pretty versatile for the mech type figure so I am surprised they modeled it so poorly.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Before i rant, it’s my opinion that i’m too express.

What a absolute waste of money wth lego, and for a boring set aswell, really disappointed but hey i don’t care for overwatch but then again i don’t care for overpriced :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ordered! Really liking this little dude! :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Probably handy buying for the parts to build something even more spectacular,
Cant wait to see more from overwatch soon..

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Don’t care for Overwatch but glad they are working with Blizzard. What I wouldn’t give for a Jaina or Sylvanas minifigure!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope the rest of the line is better. It just doesn't capture Bastion's feel to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Chouju_X[SPAM] what's the point in bringing a pointless debate like that onto this article? overwatch and warframe are completely different, non-competing games, so comparing them in the first place is silly.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

if all overwatch sets are like this, I am a litle dissapointed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know what over watch is, but it looks pretty lame to me. Maybe that's just me though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@crayxmp: The whole theme isn't going to be exclusive to the Blizzard shop. Just this set. Think of this as a "preview" being offered by the developers of the game, with the actual sets including a different skin.

@xboxtravis7992: I'd think it might be equally likely that the default Bastion will appear in a MORE expensive set alongside other heroes/subjects. Large characters often tend to appear as part of bigger sets.

Personally I think this is pretty cool. I'm not an Overwatch fan but even on its own terms this is a pretty cool-looking mech.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Errm, I was kind of hoping the LEGO Bastion would be able to transform just like the "real" one. I have lots of other sets waiting for their turn to get bought, so this gets skipped.

Gravatar
By in United States,

You can tell there aren't too many Overwatch fans that read Brickset from these comments!

I dont care for Overwatch but this might make a neat gift for friends who are fans of that game. I hope we see some Warcraft sets from Lego in the future though! Ohhh.. just imagine all the Warcraft heroes, castles, vehicles, dragons, mounts, and battlepacks we could get!!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Until recently had no idea what Overwatch was, and the model looks boring too.
Not interested, and massively overpriced as well, so definitely not interested.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Overwatch? More like Overpriced amirite? :D

Gravatar
By in Czech Republic,

@Lyichir many thanks for the clarification, I did not know that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@SirZed I'm willing to bet the unit does transform into the turret: if you look at the respective hinge plates and what not.. with the gray barrel on top with 4 1x1 circles Im going to assume is the turret barrel.. definitely confident this unit transforms into the turret.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Kinda small for $25 and no mining eh?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Looks hideous. No thanks.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's simple, but I like it. For an official Lego mech, it looks like it's got a pretty good amount of articulation. I build a lot of mecha myself, and I think I'd be hard pressed to build a version of Bastion that was the same size that was just as sturdy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Parts Pack! 2x2 45° Tiles in orange, 1x2 plate with rounded edges, Ball Joints, ingots. I could care less about Overwatch, but I hope they make more sets like this.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Compeltely urnecognizable to me but then I couldn't for the life of me care about Overwatch. I'm happy for the people who do like the theme and this set, but it really doesn't do anything for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wonder what the availability and pricing will be for Canada. If we use the $25 USD and factor in the exchange that's $32.59 for 182 pieces -- an easy pass for me. But this does have me curious. I only ever played Overwatch twice when they had free weekends on PS4 and it was kind of fun. I just never got into it. The Tracer minifig they showed off looks cool, tho.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I hope Overwatch fans will be happy with this Lego rendition. I really have no idea what Overwatch is (nor any interest), which makes this, for me, an expensive and pointless set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well I'd sort of consider a retail $70 set with Bastion in his default skin, several other unique builds and minifigures more valuable than paying $25 for just one figure in a unique color... So maybe I should have said instead of a 'cheaper' set he's just likely to be in a retail set without the exclusivity mark ups?

Gravatar
By in United States,

bought 2

Gravatar
By in United States,

Down for two! Looking forward to the rest of the series too, the Tracer minifigure looks great. :)

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

I would prefered brandless creator set with robots.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seeing as this is a preview set, lego really blew their opportunity to showcase what the theme has to offer. I mean, the one thing TLG had to do was intrigue the audience, but they clearly missed even that. Most of the community seems to be turned off by this reveal, so they’re kinda in a hole even before the theme launches.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ordered a set but know nothing about Overwatch! :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks neat, but so far not for me as this seems like a display piece like the Brickheadz line (I likr those better so far). Getting Vader Castle as Boba Brickhead later this week followed by a trio of the train heist from Solo.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Cute model, and great colors--I quit playing months ago, but I still have an appreciation for the game and the characters. And this was actually my favorite Bastion skin.

To those complaining that he doesn't transform... have you ever actually played with Lego? Rebuild him! That's what Lego is all about!

To those complaining that he doesn't look good, no, he's not perfect, but I think this is a pretty good rendition of him for such a small scale. Lego has limited resolution when building at this size and Bastion was immediately recognizable, in a good color scheme, with lots of fine details and articulation.

To those unfamiliar with Overwatch, we get it: you're not familiar with Overwatch. Stop complaining, not every set is made for everyone.

Definitely in for one, almost bought two.

EDIT: almost forgot: BWEEEEP, BWOOP-BEEP! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what to think of this theme. On the one hand, I think this theme is kind of stupid, but on the other hand, it gives gamers a chance to buy Lego sets that's not Minecraft, which many people state is a kid's game, even though I will admit that I still play the game, even though I'm a teenager. Plus, it's never good to judge something just by the way it looks. I'll look into the theme and the game in the future and see what I think then, but for now, I'm going to let the people who enjoy this game and theme enjoy it while I watch from the shadows to make up my mind definitively. Plus, who knows, maybe all of you can give me another perspective on these that I'm somehow missing.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I'm not impressed. It doesn't look very recognizable. One could say it's a moc. And those who play the game know that Bastion can change into 3 different modes. This one looks like won't be able to switch modes.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

so you cant buy it from Australia?
how unfair!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

What’s with all the hate?? This is no doubt just a teaser of what’s to come from the full theme. No it’s absolutely not a full on set, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s a cute lil exclusive. It’s probably meant for display for us collectors more than anything

Gravatar
By in United States,

Still don't know anything about Overwatch. $25 is too steep TBH, but I like the design of the mech - kinda reminds me of Titanfall.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it when people complain about something they have absolutely no clue about. Did you guys even read the article?? This is just a limited time exclusive for Blizzard to use to build hype for the 2019 line next year. Y’all seem to be getting too quick to pass judgement these days. x)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

It's a bit funny how many people in these comments are so eager to let everyone know "I don't know what overwatch is" or "I don't play overwatch". :P

Anyway, I think this is one of the best looking mechs Lego have ever done. The shapes are very clean and well defined and it has a very brick-built appearance, unlike most other official mecha sets which seem cluttered with greebles in the form of all sorts of prop pieces.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This sets is quite similar to the Mechs/Robots Lego releases in the Creator line. They are mostly all "basic" brick built.

31034: Future Flyer (2015): 237 pieces $25
31007: Power Mech (2013): 223 pieces $20
5764 : Rescue Robot (2011): 149 pieces $17

There was also 31062: Robo Explorer (2017) that's in a slightly different style: 205 pieces $20.

Once you consider licensing and inflation the prices seems about right?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I know exactly what Overwatch is, but I'm not interested in playing it and friends and family of various ages have moved onto newer, Fortnitey things (or they never played Overwatch in the first place). I'm not going to condemn the theme outright, but this preview mech is somewhat uninspirational. I hope the full theme is a bit more fun and playful (which I expect it will be) because even though I'm extremely unlikely to purchase a set, that might bring me a little closer to doing so. This mech does look oddly small for its price though.

I hope a decent Crash Bandicoot or Spyro Ideas proposition gets above the 10000 mark, as I would much prefer that. I am of the era when those characters were just as popular as Fortnite skins or Overwatch characters! Ah, pre-battle royale bliss.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Strange they didn't bump it to the $40 USD range with a larger size that could have at least been rebuilt, if not folded, into sentry mode. The lack of tank mode is understandable.

Small model, looks okay on display, though well-designed & articulated given the limitations of LEGO at this scale.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh, I’m sure that I have the spare parts lying around to build this already without spending an extra $25, granted it may not be orange. However it looks like it could be a good base to build something better out of it. I’m just not into Overwatch to really care that much, and I don’t see this becoming a highly sought after item later down the road on the secondary market. Pass.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The photos for this just seem poor for judging it. The main feature for Bastion for me is his gatling gun, which I assume is what is sticking up behind his head in these photos, but it is very obscured since none of the shots are from behind or straight on with the torso not rotated.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"I've never played or heard of Overwatch and I really don't care about it but I'm going to comment here on Brickset and let everyone know how much I really, really don't care about this set."

Maybe LEGO wants to bring in different target audiences with their various themes? And maybe not everyone has to be interested in every single theme.

This looks decent, especially with the effort to bring it to minifig scale. Might get a different version in the actual sets, though. Hope we get to see D.va's mech soon, especially if it is on the same scale as this.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Dare we dream about Warcraft?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

In the long, long list of overpriced licensed model sets, this one actually seems somewhat reasonable. Also, y'know, mech. Mechs are cool. Comparing it with his transformation animation (nerd), I'd say it doesn't quite transform into the turret perfectly, but it gets pretty close.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@BobaFettCorvete You wait until they announce a line of Overwatch Brickheadz.

I don't know the source material well, but this has the feeling of an early preview set, aimed at raising interest in the line. I reckon we'll see Bastion in a later set, with a more traditional paint job and more playability.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ordered one, even though I stopped playing Overwatch a while back. Fun game, but too toxic.

the interesting thing is that buying some elements in a different colour give you different skins - the one visible sticker on the left shoulder aside.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@BobaFettCorvette Yes, Lego wants to bring in those outside the target audience. And they've hyped this theme somewhat aggressively, including with a minisite. It piqued my interested even though I don't play Overwatch. After seeing the first figure I'm not very interested and given some of the comments others aren't either.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks pretty sweet. A shame he's not Minifig scale, but I'm pretty sure there were giant Bastions used in some of the battles so he wouldn't look totally out of display with the regular sets! Depending on how long this set is availible I might pick it up (getting some LEGO Minecraft and a new computer moniter soon, so I'm probably drianed till the end of October.) But I'd love to have it!

I wonder if they'll make more system built figures like this for the other characters. An Orisa one would be great.

I've seen some people complain that it's a skin and so LEGO might just release a different colored one in the future but I'm fine with that. Seeing things with new color schemes has always appelaed to me, probably why I like BIONICLE so much, and in the end it just helps to inspire more simple MoCs.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Superb! Love this set! And I love the turret mode. To be honest, compared to regular RRP in the Netherlands, the price of this set is par for the usual (overpriced) course. And I’m guessing this set will definitely appreciate in price in years to come. Looks like mine will arrive tomorrow, which is pretty fast!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is coming from a non-Overwatch consumer, but if you showed me this picture without any branding or identifiers, I would've wagered it's a $10 Creator set. I'm really not seeing what's special about it apart from people getting excited about the name attached.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My favorite part of all this was reading all the comments on people who thought this partnership meant there would be a Lego/Overwatch game LMAO.

Gravatar
By in Armenia,

overpriced garbage. I can make a better bastion from my own pieces and i dont even have hundreds of sets. I was hyped for proper sets after tracer minifig, but this is hilarious. Let's hope other sets make more sense.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

OK... so I received the set today... only to find the box severely damaged in an undamaged shipping box. Not impressed, Blizzard... trying to resolve this through their live chat, but it’s hard, with waiting times over 30 minutes... might take this one to PayPal.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Lots of complaints about the price, people forget this is Blizzard territory...
For example, being a long time WoW player,

Me: Overwatch exclusive set - meh I don't play Overwatch.
Wife: Isn't that a Lego/Blizzard plaque?
Me: Yeah it is...
Wife $26 plus shipping, so that's basically an in-game mount or some in-game pets.
Me: Good point
Blizzard store: Your order is confirmed.

Price per piece goes out the window when the target audience already spends money on non-physical purchases.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm still amused that they're making Overwatch sets but had originally rejected Portal from Cuusoo for being too violent.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@PDelahanty: Did they ever explicitly state that that was why it was rejected? I had assumed that it was just rejected because the project in question required new molds.
